And in this footage, we see the rare instance of a Dragon Quest hero growing a brain and entering a marriage that is both politically and emotionally feasible, securing the future of the world he lives in by uniting the kingdom he will inevitably have to repair as its king with one still reasonably standing, creating a land that will see untold peace for centuries under the bloodline of Erdrick.
At least until some new Dark Lord comes along and tries unsuccessfully to ruin it or until someone mods this world into any grand strategy game to purge it with the holy fire of whichever righteous god they want to say their banner is under. Whichever of these two scenarios comes first.

I've heard that Jade is everyone's favorite girl and i can see why and it looks like everyone got their wish when they got the option to choose on who to be with. Kinda shame there's no kiss although that just my little nitpick and it's not that big of a deal to me and i'll take what i can get. Guess them holding hands is close enough.

She was like the only reason I wanted to turn voice acting off.
Although it's kinda weird about Jade saying to the Hero that she's his 'older sister' (hence Eleanor being her mother figure bc Jade's real mother passed away when she [Jade] was very young). But, with the Hero, being a prince of a fallen kingdom and marry the Princess of Heliodor, it will strengthen the ally bond between the two kingdoms and it might restore Dundrasil to its former glory.
I don't understand why people still keep saying she's incest and better for Hendrick which is hypocritical.
She's not blood related, and only visits Dundrasil with her father and knew the hero as a baby for like a few hours before getting separated.
Saying that she's older and more like a sister would be the same for Hendrick, he was already 20 during the events of Dundrasil and is 36 now. While Jade was a little kid and around her early 20's now, she also referred to Hendrick and Jasper are like siblings during the event with Jasper.
She also doesn't view the hero as a little brother anymore later on when she gets jealous of Gemma.
If you actually marry her, your companions will acknowledge that especially Rab, Sylvia, and even Drustan.
Rab is overjoyed that both kingdoms are finally united, Sylvia calls you a sweet couple, Drustan tells you that you would have married her anyway if the tragedy never happened.
Tl;dr
If you want to choose her, go for it. She's a perfectly valid marriage candidate.

OMG this finally happens!! :D Kinda wish that there was an actual marriage cutscene for these two but at least this got rid of the curiosity I had for this pairing.
You mean like how they did with Dragon Quest VIII, both original and remake? My guess is because of the number of people (girls) to end up with, that would’ve been too much to program into the game.
Yeah I wasn't expecting much since She-Who-Cannot-Be-Named-On-This-Channel wasn't given the treatment but it would certainly have made a more satisfying ending with the full royalty ceremony and all :)

Imagine if Dundrasil wasn't destroyed and the king of Heliodor was never possessed by Mordegon. This could've been a nice arranged marriage as a union of both kingdoms.
Someone have ought to write some fanfiction concerning that tidbit. There are also the facts that the Luminary is the reincarnation of Erdwin, and he would have to undergo training under Grand Master Pang being Dundrasil's crown prince, so they would have to consider that while writing.
Perhaps I'll give it a go myself.

Honestly I kinda hate how all dq protagonists are silent and have no character. This scene in my opinion would’ve been more better if they add personality to the protagonist.

We make the protaginsts twins one boy one a girl and for the first half of the game both talk but you still pick 1 as the main charicter at the start of the game. At the half way point the big bad murders their sibling right infront of your chosen hero and the shock causes them to lose their voice for the second half of the game until the final battle.

This ending just feels like the right one to me (almost) and that's because I feel like if things didn't go bad for them as kids they would've had an arranged marriage anyway. Now that they are together the dundrasil sovereign has joined that of heliodor to rule and it's Erdrick's bloodline in the royal line. Heliodor was mentioned to have a king that was essentially "king of the world" it all fits. The only thing that doesn't is how this ending takes place in cobblestone. I would've liked it if this is the only ending that took place at Heliodor castle. Or maybe all endings take place at their respective hometowns.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. It would've been so sweet to see them rebuild Dundrasil, and have the marriage solidify a true union between the two kingdoms.

I've held back on buying the game for whatever reason. Early on, I found that Jade was the best girl, but not marry-able. I come back here and see this, in my head thinking "if this on the Switch version... I might buy it". Welp, I now know my answer.
I was slack jawed this entire video, Jade is best girl and seeing this is just amazing, especially after spending about a 100 hours or so on the ps4 playing this game and only being able to marry a certain someone who shall not be named. Does anyone think they'll add this feature into the other DQXI versions or just the switch one, if not then I'll be very sad...

Funny story, when I first started playing the game some of my thoughts were
"So Grandpa Gohan finds Baby Trunks and raises him." As well as "Doctor Gero is the King and he's possibly evil."
About halfway through, it was "Hey look! It's Kami's Lookout" followed by "Why is Mr. Popo a baby?"
Post game I was like " Okay! Who decided it would be a good idea for Perfect Cell and Majin Buu to perform Potara Fusion?"
It would suffice to say I had a lot of fun.

I've decided to headcanon this as the two of them having a "summer home" if you will, in Cobblestone.
I chose Jade too because she was almost walking behind me throughout the whole game, story wise Gemma and luminary grew up but most of my gaming experience in DQ was with Jade, so what they did here was really really smart, I just don’t like the end where Jade leaves after you beat Calasmos

Feel kinda bad for getting the PS4 version because it seems like the Switch Version is superior in nearly every way.
It is called the definitive edition for a reason.
It's ugly as hell though, plus all this stuff is just lumped in as an after thought and it feels that way. It's like a fan fiction version of the game akin to Persona 4 Golden etc, the narrative of the original game is usually better, pure fan service this version.
Yeah the switch version is is way better. The graphics still look fantastic and the new orchestrated music is incredible.

Great marriage option tbh. I mean, the prince of Dundrasil and the princess of Heliodor seems very fitting. And I mean, Jade clearly cares a lot about him (to the point of literally throwing herself off a cliff to save him).

At most she saw his mother as a mother figure, but aside from that there's no actual family relationship. They also didn't grow up together and they didn't know each other long enough as kids to establish any sort of actual sibling-like bond.

I just got to this part and chose Jade, couldn't stop smiling like an idiot through the entire thing. I wish they show a prosperous Dundrasil and Heliodor united, and them having a royal wedding.
I wished I saved before that. Reselecting a spouse to get someone other than Jade then reselecting again to get Jade does not seem to re trigger the cutscene. I wonder what happens if you say no to her at the cliff

I sometimes wondered if the companion you pick is an actual spouse or just a companion in some BFF sense. I felt like they were ambiguous about it, hence being allowed to select a kid and males. But if you ever choose to redo your wish with Drustan, he says you will have to “separate” from the previous companion… so yep, that is a direct assertion that the one you choose is your monogamous spouse.
If I had the option to save prior to this, i would see all the marriage options

I love this game but I can’t ever choose Jade as a marriage partner because of her relationship to the hero and his late parents. She’s always viewed him as a little brother. Jade is awesome I won’t deny.
