Lovely ❤this was the last place I was with my dear Mum before She passed away 😢.Lovely memories ,Thank you .
We are pleased that the video brought back lovely memories of your Mum. Diana's Mum and Dad are buried in St Andrews church yard, so this place holds significant memories for us too.
Hi. Yes I am Chair of Trustees at Ferring Village Hall, and I did recently post a photo of the hall being built.
Another interesting video - thank you! I last visited Ferring over 50 years ago, when I lived in Worthing. I'd hate to think what the property prices are like there these days.
Thank you for watching. Yes, prices are ridiculous in Ferring, the same as they are anywhere in southern England that is perceived as desirable.
That was a lovely video! Thanks so much for the labels though I knew most there were a few unknown insects like the digger wasp. It really helps knowing what everything is! I have heard of Ferring but not the Riff. ( have I spelt that correctly?) I liked the swooping drone shot going to the shore. It does convey an idyllic, peaceful view of the countryside & coast. Very relaxing to watch. Seeing the goldfinch singing reminded me that I have not really seen any this Summer. They were never here & then about 20 yrs ago they were everywhere- now they may have disappeared again! Thanks.
Thank you for watching and your kind comments - we are pleased you enjoyed it. We are very selective in our filming, so what you see is what we consider to be the best parts. We try to concentrate on historic aspects and, of course, nature and natural beauty. We have noticed fewer goldfinch locally, so perhaps the population is changing and transient - there is so much development here that vast swathes of habitat have sadly been destroyed.
Whoops - came back it’s Rife!
Yes, Rife! It is an old Sussex word for stream, specific to this area of West Sussex.
Hi. My name is Simon Cornish, and I am on the committee of Ferring History Group. I plan to give a talk in 2024 entitled "Ferring From The Air" using old aerial photos. It would be really good if I could use some of your drone footage of Ferring. Would this be possible ?
Hi Simon, you are welcome to use the footage. I believe you have recently posted in the Ferring FB page regarding the village hall's history. Perhaps you would confirm - I will then PM you on FB to discuss further.
