      Just an idea. Use a round cutting board, and rotate the board 90° after cutting into thin strips.

    Suggestion : Make a video about ALL the various Chinese jarred sauces. We see a lot of MYSTERY Chinese jarred sauces and have no idea what they are for. We can't buy them all, just to try them. We need to be educated about them.

    It tastes better because it's coarser when minced with hand, you can use coarse setting with the grinder as well.

    For minced/ground chicken and pork with a food processor, slice up the meat into strips then freeze on a lined baking sheet. Once frozen, run through the food processor in small batches until the desired texture/dice is achieved.
    I then portion out the minced/ground meat into bags and freeze for later use.
    Really saves the hands.

    Add a 1/4 cup of water to the store bought ground round and it becomes finely minced. It’s great for burritos or chili.

    I use a grinder. You can control the level/coarseness of the grind. This allows you to add extra fat. Very helpful when trying to get 80/20 or 70/30 burger mixes

      The whole point is that he is mincing, NOT grinding the meat! You can't grind meat with a knife. That is what meat grinders are for. Totally different textures when compared. I am sure yours works great for grinding and not mincing ;)

    exactly, Store bought ground meat are convenient but they're so minced that it feels like fish balls instead. my whole family never buys store ground meat it takes a lot of time to mince them but it's hella worth it.

    Yup, this is exactly how I do it as well! I half freeze the meat and hand cut or robotcoupe. I don’t buy meat pre minced for me, I want to see the whole meat before eating it, see the health and color of it, and know 100% of everything I’m putting in my body

    When I was little, my duty is to mince meat for mom. Chop2 mince2, use heavy knife and wooden chopping board... Take a long time if wanna get finely minced meat.😁 Now can do it fast using blender, by taste is not the same.

    The reason why almost all store-bought minced meat has the consistency of paste is because they use a lot of the leftover fat notice on how if you fry any amount of ground beef and strain all the grease out of it you're going to be left with about 1/3 the original volume as well as the fact that it's done by a giant machine that less cuts the meat and more grinds the meat also just don't buy finely ground meat instead by meat that is more coarse for lack of a better word

    I have to agree with your dad.
    I always prefer hand chop meat. You can take any part of the chicken and chop it. Most ground chicken at the store is too dry.

    It looks good. But i think it also depends on where the store-bought minced meat is bought. In the supermarket it is really this finely ground stuff but at my local butcher it is Made differently and the taste is way better.
    What technique is He using If it isnt Frozen? I Like fresh ground meat (only pork or Beef) raw on bread with onions and i dont think it would be good to freeze it First.

    I use my Bamix that chops the meat. I don’t buy mince meat because it is crushed which damages the flavour and texture.

    You also know exactly what cut is in your minced meat. Pre-ground meat may contain organ meat, etc if it's not specified.

      Fridge temp meat, put in the freezer for anywhere from 15 min to an hour. I've heard 15-30 but when I tried that it was still too soft. You want it firm enough to be able to press on a bit

    Also store bought mince and ground meat usually are unwashed so you don’t know if it’s clean or what
    Sometimes there’s chuffed/fragment of a bones too
    So it’s best to do on your own

      ... who washes meat o.o honestly though I've never heard of that even if one butchers. I've heard of 'trimming' but never washing. One can never clean meat since whatever is in the outside is on the inside. Cooking kills whatever might be harmful which is why chicken and pork must be cooked all the way through because those products raw can kill you and no amount of washing will prevent that.

    This is how i cut it for my cat she eats it raw (yes! Safe for cats!) I prefer it slightly frozen too it is easier to cut but guys be careful some parts will be more or less solid and require more or less pressure with knife so watch your fingers

    They mince meat way too fine for dumplings in the US. So the struggle of the century is whether you will get a noise complaint mincing meat.
