Switch feeding is always the way to go now lad. Especially when clients pick those delightful pendants/wall lights with sod all connection space in them. At least you'll only have a maximum of 2 cables in there.
Plus means you can add smart controls at a later date if you install 47mm deep boxes at the start.

How I’d do the fan feed, would be a dual 25mm back box at 1200mm, the left side a 1mm feed in/out, plus 3 core for 2 way, a little 3 core link across to right hand side and out of the right side in 3 core to the fan. Assuming your looping at the switch.

Wondered what the voltage drops were with those long runs. In US we are recommended no more than 5%drop it’s a performance rather than safety issue and as you say I doubt your LED lights would have any issues even if they were greater than 5percent. Of course the 5percent guidance is somewhat moot in USA where long radial circuit runs are the norm in our larger houses.

I think it's generally a no-no as it does not stop the steam /condensation blowing back to the other side vent - i.e. no non return in the vent pipe. Building control in my area were insistent that each bathroom must have it's own external vent for my bathroom renovation. Builder was pissed as he had already put in the vent pipe to the gable end wall so had to add a second one. They also made him lift the fan to provide a suitable gradient (from fan to outside) to make sure that condensation would drain to the outside and not pool in the vent pipe.

If you don’t fix them 100% straight you get no play on the faceplate on 2nd fix. Plus flat plate accessories look terrible with them

@@mattivirta and it’s that attitude which has the industry screwed. What a ridiculous statement to make, the job costs what it costs, if you start telling people that houses shouldn’t cost more then X Amount, they expect the world. Unfortunately like most sparks I don’t have the time to source cheap material from anywhere other then a Wholsaler. If your happy to work for wages essentially and not make a profit, that’s the wrong way to run a business. So many other overheads as well as wages need to be accounted for and as your company grows and the jobs get bigger, so do the expenses.

We are sparks who’ve done hard 4 year apprenticeships to earn good money, what’s the point in earning the same money as someone stacking shelves who doesn’t have the stress and worry about bills, workload, materials and overheads? No, we earn good money to cover all those things and probably still lose money on jobs and somethings got to pay for our big houses and flashy motors.
