I'll admit I have a slightly weird obsession with watching perfume empties videos. I love them much more than hauls or declutters... Why? Well because people have a solid final opinion on fragrances they finish, and I love hearing that, good or bad. I also love knowing that a perfume has been used to the last drop. It gives me a fuzzy feeling of satisfaction.
So it's been 6 months since the last perfume empties video back in May 2022...(It's linked below along with my other perfume empties video if you want to watch it). Here I talk you through the 14 bottles that I've finished off since then and let you know what I thought and whether I would consider repurchasing.
Actually, I'm one of those people who love trying new things, I often just want to move on, but sometimes I can see myself going back for one reason or another, it's rare though!
So are you are perfume hoarder or do you like to use them up and move on? Do you repurchase your favourite fragrances over and over or always try something new? Which perfumes have you been using up? Have you tried any of the perfumes that I've finished and would you repurchase them?

Note that some of these bottles are vintage formulations, so my fragrance might have been a bit different to the newer bottles in stores now. Also I often buy secondhand fragrances for formulation, environmental and economic reasons, so I might not have used the entire bottle, but it will have been a significant proportion of it and I will tell you how much I used!

Hey Claire. I don’t know if I can ever film this type of video. When I see my fragrances getting low I tend to stop using it to preserve it. I think it’s a mental thing. 🤷🏽♀️
I know what you mean, I have the same thing with some that I truly love, it's a particularly picky and non-sensical form of fragrance hoarding that I have 🤣 I did save one though that ended up going off so I try not to hoard stuff if I can help it now. 🥰
Hello girls 😊 I'm on the opposite side. When my bottles are getting low I want to use and finish them faster. It bothers me to see almost empty bottles taking up so much space. We all have our weird mental things, I think.

Congrats on getting through so many! That is why I am too nervous to purchase perfume second hand. Even if the seller seems trustworthy, we have no way to know where the seller got it. With a market saturated with good fakes, I’d be too nervous I could be possibly putting dangerous chemicals on my skin. It’s too bad because there are so many discontinued perfumes that are not available anymore except on the second hand market.

Yes, I knew the Chance fragrance was fake before I even sprayed it and that Coco mademoiselle felt wrong when I received it too. I never sprayed them on my skin thankfully 😊 my lesson is learn with Chanel, definitely not worth bothering with secondhand. It's way too copied, so many fakes out there! Thanks for watching ❤️

A lot of these had so little left when I filmed my collection video that I decided to make a conscious effort to finish a few, it's probably counter productive cos I only feel more justified buying new ones 🙈
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who buys a perfume by mistake ,I wish they wouldn’t make perfumes that sound so alike and look the same 🤦♀️
Those the scent bottles are virtually the same colour and an identical design... It's easily done.

Yes! It was lovely of Frances to send me her Coco mademoiselle. A lot of these were nearly done when I filmed my collection video and I made a conscious effort to try to finish a few. I've already bought more 🤣

Yes it is! I am quite happy to just enjoy using my collection organically again for a while ☺️ I found sometimes that I just didn't want to wear some of these perfumes (Gucci Rush is certainly one that is a mood for me!), so I'm happy that I have finished some of these. Thanks for watching ❤️

😥 I was a bit sad to see him go, even without a head, but he wasn't full to begin with, it was only the equivalent of a 30ml I think. It's satisfied my desire for that fragrance anyway... Fab, but only a major love for a few minutes 🤷♀️

Enjoyed your empties Claire 😉💕 I had a little over 25 empties for 2022. Glad I used up the ones I wasn’t too fond of. Also glad I was able to experience a full bottle of the ones I enjoyed 😉👍🏼
Yes I tend to empty the ones I'm not fussed about 🤣 it's a very particular type of fragrance hoarding 🤣 25 is similar to me I think for 2022, when you have a lot and have been collecting for a while, they tend to finish in batches! Thanks for watching Denise ❤️

Yes I seem to have my own strange form of fragrance hoarding where I seem to finish mainly ones I don't love 🤷♀️ It did take me a while to decide to use up Womanity and Alien Eau Extraordinaire because I enjoyed both of those and wondered how much I'd miss them as I know I cannot get them any longer. Hi Cherie! Yes, I think I've got a warped sense of fragrance hoarding where I find it easier to use stuff I don't love and therefore don't mind saying goodbye to, it's totally non sensical! 🤷♀️
@@dr.claire.perfume not at all! I totally understand that and used to be the same, it’s taken me a long time to just enjoy and wear the ones I really want to. It’s kind of similar to how I used to eat, I would start with the things on my plate I liked least so that I could get them out of the way, but then I realised it reduced the enjoyment of the things I liked the most on the plate because by the time I got to them I wasn’t as hungry anymore 😂

Yes! I bought Jimmy Choo EDP because I *thought* I liked it! 🤷♀️ Doesn't make sense at all to presume you know how something smells... You have to know by having tried it recently not assumed they are similar fragrances cos you loved a flanker! 🤣
I love empty and dent videos! Its great to get through so many perfumes and give us your thoughts on them. I'm just buying 30mls from now on so I can get through them quicker and if I find I really love a fragrance I will buy it in a bigger size.
That's how I feel too! I rarely buy the bigger size unless it's secondhand or somehow cheaper to get the larger one. If I don't love it but don't hate it, I am hesitant to declutter so I just use them up, but I'm coming to the conclusion that I need to curate my collection a little more. I probably will cull a few in a declutter at some point. I do love seeing what people have finished though! It's so satisfying! Have a great week! ❤️

Awesome video:-). Really as i already said last time - you r my most favourite channel. I do mean it:-). Also, before i forget, if in any case you d be willing to put a longer version of your "indoles" and basically a longer version of any of these from the serie, pls pls do. I m sure there would be ppl who would like to watch - me for sure:-). I guess it wouldnt be too too many views, but i m sure there would be ppl who are interested deeper in the topic and i really love the way you present things... Aaaanyway, about the perfumes:-) i love when ppl end up bottles, when they are actually using them and not just storing them basically. My stash is similar to yours as for the size and i can see myself finishing bottles also:-). So far i only managed to finish bottles with my signature scents:-)). Also, dunno what that is, but i kinda get hesitatnt to use the last pieces up... when it s just a bit left there,.. and i know it ll be gone... i just... it does bother me:DD. I know it s totalyl irational, because the only thing that will happen is, that the rest of the fragrance will oxidize and go bad... but.. ye... fortunately for me:DD i m not near finishing any of my bottles, so as for now, i can still work on my attitude towards almost empty bottles:-)). I think I also get anxious about finishing stuff I love and that's perhaps why I often have empties for fragrances I'm not in love with, because it feels ok to finish those, it makes little sense! 🤣 I don't think I'll be finishing much for a while, I'm just enjoying wearing randomly from my collection again and getting back to sampling 🥰 I hope you have a fab Sunday! ❤️
Hi Claire. I absolutely love your empties videos and great, as well very honest feedbacks you share with us related to the used up fragrances. I really wanted to blind buy Hugo Boss The Scent For Her EDP but what put me off was the longevity/performance. I tend to go for longer lasting fragrances and do not plan to add more fragrances with poor longevity. Great video as usual :-) Love from Cyprus
Hi Emilia! Yes the longevity is really not good and for private accord, it is even worse 🤷♀️ I couldn't really wear this perfume other than to bed because it faded so quickly. Incredibly disappointing for the price! Thanks for watching ❤️

I’m always amazed by how many bottles you finish! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😉 I love LVEB but I smelled it twice on someone when I went grocery shopping a few weeks ago so I only wear it in the house now! 🤣 My hairdresser also had it on last night! 😅🙂
🤣 yes! This is the issue! The flankers are probably easier to make your own, I have been really enjoying l'eclat.
I don't think I'll finish much now for a while, I'm going to use stuff more organically rather than targeting bottles to finish. It's felt like a total collection rediscovery this last month wearing them all again 🤣 thanks for watching ❤️
This type of empties is really appreciated. It’s so nice to see what is worthy of a repurchase (if it’s available). I’ve been trying to use more up and keep a good spreadsheet of my perfumes, to see what I love, and try not to duplicate, unless it will replace a discontinued gem.
Yes, I find I rarely want to repurchase once something is finished, I think I tend to hoard my loved fragrances, especially the ones that are discontinued or hard to find.
I remember years ago my collegue entered the room and filled it up with her fragrance. It was nothing groundbraking but just a nice scent. Fruity floral, slightly sweet, slightly woody. I asked her what that was and she was quite ashamed to admit that it was Azarro Visit - a cheapie, not very popular, not hyped. I didn't buy it then because It wasn't entirely my cup of tea but I remember she smelled amazing. I have to try Azarro Girl (although I don't like sweet perfumes), maybe it'll trigger that memories.
Azzaro fragrances really aren't serious ones, I find they are all incredibly sweet! But I think other people love sweet and so they do tend to get compliments 😂
The fragrances I use up get used (most of the time) because they are loves that I don’t want to be without! So I tend to repurchase them, and ones that wouldn’t be a repurchase for me are less likely to become an empty at all. I find myself giving away or selling the bottles I just don’t use much, though that is easier said than done. Awesome job finishing so many!
I know exactly what you mean! I did make a conscious effort to finish these. For me it's easier to finish things I care less about because I know I will not miss them! But yes, for sure, those are generally not the ones I want to wear. I'd say of these, I really liked Eau Extraordinaire but the performance was incredibly disappointing. That was perhaps the only one I was really sad to see go, because I know that I won't find that ever again. Have a good weekend 🥰

The fragrances I don't like that much I don't finish. And the perfumes I love, I don't want to finish 🙈🙈
Same with not wanting to finish the ones I love! I tend to finish the one that I don't love but don't hate enough to declutter 🤣 also the ones with poor longevity tend to get used up more quickly because I reapply them. I am quite a hoarder of the ones that I absolutely love 🤦♀️ I'm trying to change that! ☺️
Yay a new video!!! Womanity is GOAT status for me nowadays. It was my 2010s going out scent as it mixed so well with the smell of ciggies and sweat lol i rarely wear my current bottle but every now and then a night of debauchery calls for it lol indi visible really reminds me of sean john unforgivable woman which i wore in the late 2000s and triggers too many memories of ill advised decisions 🤪

Yes filming my collection video made me start a project pan. It felt like the bottles with not much in were taking up unnecessary room. I'm trying to keep my collection to one limited space so that it doesn't get too big. Thanks for watching ❤️
@@dr.claire.perfume I do the same thing, Claire. I don't want big huge cabinets. But my collection gets a little spread out on my night stand, in the bathrooms, a couple in the living room. I can't help myself. That is a great way to free up space!

Soo many empties amazing 🙂 watching this feels like an achievement for me, its hard for me to put a half dent on my bottles, i have almost finished but those are the minis and roller balls 😅.
I been eyeing for katy perry indi when i was still purchasing from fragrancex i wish i purchased it then.
I always have a feeling about moschino toy smells generic but that hubba bubba scent sounds interesting 💚.

It is really difficult to finish fragrances. A lot of these were smaller bottles that I'd had for a few years or that had such terrible longevity that I ended up finishing them quite quickly. I'd say that toy2 bubblegum is worth smelling if you enjoy fruity bubblegum, but sadly that opening doesn't last. Indi is a nice fragrance if you like creamy semi sweet milky fragrances, but not one to spend a lot of money on. Thanks for watching Rin! ☺️
Hello Claire, enjoyed video. My SOTM (morning) is one one side of body Italica and Kyse Douceur Brulee on thr other side, BBW Raspberry Jam Donut and a cotton candy fragrance. 🍬 I have a poor sense of smell and my body drinks parfum, so although it could seem like a lot, it never is (except some Manceras).

Yeah Wanted Girl was not as CZcams advertised it to me 😂 clearly one that other people love smelling though! I think I'm going to use my collection a little more organically for a while, I'm a bit fed up of panning for now. I've also been buying some new things so I've plenty to test out! amazing job with finishing quite a number of bottles. I tend to try and finish the ones I don't love or were blind buy mistakes and 'hoard' my favourites. I have to admit that it's probably not the best thinking as my favourites and the most costly get saved for special occasions. Which in all honestly are far and few between. 😅 I have managed to finish 3 full 100ml bottles in the last 12 months. One that was terrible on me in the dry down became an air freshener. One was okay but smelled a little flat and I have tested other perfumes in the mean time I like more but have a similar profiles. The third was a blind buy mistake, as I didn't do my research on the perfume, thinking it was a fragrance with a tea note, when in-fact it came off as baby powder and was quite waxy to my nose. It ended up working well for use in places strong fragrances would have been off putting like the doctor or dentist. I won't repurchase it and instead will look for a clean musk or an aldehydic fragrance that I prefer. I have to say that the OG Gucci Rush and I didn't get along. Hi Jenn 🙂 I think we are similar. I am happier to finish ones I don't love. I definitely hoard too and yes I agree, it's not ideal. Unless I absolutely can't see myself using something, it doesn't get decluttered, I just try to use it up, but I think I should maybe declutter a little more easily than I do. It's so annoying when fragrances aren't what you expected!
I totally understand your feelings on Gucci Rush. It's not a relaxing calm fragrance at all. I had to be careful where I sprayed it because it was super plasticky and yes, it could give me a headache. I kept wearing it, thinking sometime it would suddenly be me, but that never happened 🤣 not repurchasing for sure. Only a tolerate kind of opinion on it unfortunately. Thanks for watching 😘

Omg, you’ve finished so many bottles! Impressive. I wish I could finish that many bottles in a year but I haven’t managed to finish more than 3 or 4 this year. What’s your secret, Claire? I need to commit to finishing a couple of bottles that are running pretty low. I didn’t care for Jimmy Choo, Boss the Scent either.
Haha! Quite a lot of these were minis or travel sprays and most of the bigger bottles were not full when I got them (Eau extraordinaire, Karleidoscope and toy2 bubblegum) and most were just 30ml bottles so quicker to finish than larger bottles. I think I tend to finish the ones with poor longevity quickest because I reapply (boss the scent for her and Indi). I tend to wear ones that are softer and not long lasting to bed too! I have my own particular type of scent hoarding going on and I'm trying to change that, but I tend to hoard the ones I really love, which is ridiculous 🙈 thanks for watching ❤️
Wow! You are amazing for finishing bottles of perfume! I've almost finished a 30mL of Zara's Vetiver Pamplemousse and I'm pretty impressed with myself haha. I have a slightly different version of Womanity (I think it's the Pour Elles version), and I keep it because it feels special...but I don't think it smells good on me unfortunately. You are right: it does have a Terminator look to it ;-)
Haha! I think I just had quite a few that were nearly done and I made a conscious effort to finish a few! A lot of these are either small dabbers or travel sprays and the others are 30ml /40ml or ones that weren't full when I bought them, so I think that's probably why I appear to power through them. 🤣

Hey! so many empties.. I'm so jealous. I hardly can empty one in a year, but only because I've been using it for 5 years haha. Alien eau Extraordinaire is one of my favorites and I don't understand why so many people say it's soft. Mine is very opulent and long lasting
I had most of these a good while and many were travels or miniatures. Alien Eau Extraordinaire is something I think I got a bit noseblind to because often the next day, I could still smell it on my clothes, just not when I was actually wearing them 🤷♀️ thanks for watching ❤️

Great video! I love that you try to buy something used or sample instead of blind buying. My last blind buy was a fail. I bought Princess by Vera Wang. It’s a great perfume, but not my cup of tea. I much prefer Lovestruck, which smells powdery and gentle to me. I used up LVBelle, but won’t repurchase it or Flowerbomb, which I find quite similar smelling.
Same with Princess, it just wasn't for me, I decluttered it a while back. It made me feel a bit queasy somehow, I think maybe it was the watery vanilla chocolate. I have Lovestruck Floral Rush but not Lovestruck.
I figure that I have so many fragrances that I don't need full bottles most of the time and I am quite environmentally friendly in the rest of my life so buying secondhand makes sense for me, also it is much cheaper, e.g. 25-30ml of toy2 bubblegum when I wasn't sure about it was £7 Vs £35+. 🧐

I remember anais anais everywhere in the stores but I've never bought it. From the adverts I had the impression that it would be a very demure fragrance which is not my vibe at all. From what you said I was wrong. It's such a pity I didn't buy it back then.
I don't know what vibe it is, but it's not me 🤣 I've seen people who used to wear it in the 80s describe it as something they would wear to go clubbing. I find that incredibly hard to imagine! It just makes me think of big florals and chintz 🤣
I’ve been searching for Wanted Girl by Night as well. It seems to be impossible to find. I’ve never heard anyone describe Toy 2 the way you have. I’ve never thought of purchasing it however your description makes it sound intriguing.

Ok….let’s see if I can remember et my thoughts (listened on my commute). Firstly I love your practical approach to wearing perfumes! Wearing those close to the end. That’s why I never finish anything I want something new each day.

I was wearing something different most days up until I filmed my collection video. I have gone back to that now cos I can't wear the same fragrance all the time. I was cycling between these so there was variety still and I always sample stuff too on my arm most days 🤣 I'm usually wearing two or three fragrances in different places.
Wow you got through a lot, and that was on top of what you had finished in the spring! How many bottles did you get through in the end?
I finished Bath House Frangipani & Grapefruit in the summer, and that was after having it 2 years. I have managed to make some massive dents though, particularly in L'Eau par Kenzo, only a 30ml though, and about half way through my 100ml of Bubble Bath. Adam has helped with both of those though
I think since summer 2021, it's 28, but not all of those were full when I got them and quite a few of them were just minis.
Recording my collection video made me realise how many I had with not that much in and I figured I'd feel better about buying more of I finished a few up. I can't say I'm sad to see most of these go, maybe only Karleidoscope and Eau Extraordinaire are missed. I was glad to try all of them and I enjoyed most of them, but most were not loves. I like the idea of a more curated collection. I think sampling makes perfume life more interesting and more affordable than having bottles👍
It’s so satisfying to finish a bottle. It feels like an accomplishment… until 5 more bottles arrive in the mail. 🤦🏼♀️ I have a lot a major dents in quite a few bottles, so now I’m on a mission to finish a bunch. The Scent Private Accord and Absolute are two of my half empties. I should be emptying those in the near future. 😊

I wonder, what is your opinion on synthetic notes? are they more toxic or are they safer than natural oils ?
I think synthetic notes are likely to be less allergenic than naturals because they would never make it through testing otherwise. I have no problems with synthetics, they give fragrances longer shelf lives and have made fragrances of a more consistent quality and have reduced costs. Thank you! Yes, fakes are so annoying and disappointing. They are hard to spot unless the fragrance is in your hands and you can see the bottle details and smell it, even then, sometimes it's not obvious. 🤷♀️

I finished mine really quickly, I wore it a lot in the spring and a lot when it started to get a little chilly, I found it cosy ☺️ If your daughter in law doesn't enjoy it, thankfully it's not expensive 🙂

I was looking for an older Coco Mademoiselle too because the new ones don't smell the same and I accidentally bought a fake one too!! 😩 it smelled bad. The bottle was pretty well made.
I was able to find a real one eventually. I love it so much! It also makes me feel powerful!

Chanel is probably one with a lot of fakes but I also ended up buying a fake of an old Coach one that I wanted because it was my wedding scent. It was a cheap perfume so I didn't think they would even have fakes🤦♀️ I was wrong and I'm staying away from Ebay for now. Lol

My mom in 90s was wearing Anais Anais and i hated that perfume😄 and i still do not like it even in modern version. But i love the floral one, Delice - it is so so different!

I never really got into Jimmy Choo fragrances either, they smelled nice but never found their way into my collection. I had a 10 ml of illicit that was probably on the verge of going bad. BUT, I recently found their luxury collection on Jomashop for great prices (considering what retail is 😮). I have the rose and Amber fragrances and think they’re very feminine and pretty (not worth the retail but at a heavy discount, absolutely yes). Just thought I’d mention in case you wanted to check them out 😊

I actually wondered about illicit. I remember trying it and thinking it smelt good, but like a few other things, very rich with the honey and florals! It's discontinued now so I am guessing I won't try it! Thanks for watching ☺️

@@dr.claire.perfume I found my old illicit bottle in my closet this week. As I began to sniff it, it is sweet with honey but still has a nice, distinct smell to it. I may start wearing it again as I always felt good when I wore it and garnered compliments by men and women.
I never smelled Womanity but Pepe Jeans celebrate (the green martini glass) has a note of caviar and it makes a big contrast. Such a weird scent that I don't know if I like or not but very addictive. I'm curious if tried it and what you think about it
Yes! I tried that Pepe jeans celebrate fragrance when it first came out! I thought it was really strong and something more suited for clubbing. The saltiness is incredibly interesting in it with the alcohol notes and the popcorn. I think that one is the best of that line for sure! 👌

Yes I tried it a few months back as I knew it was being continued, I remember that I liked it, but I didn't buy it as I had illicit Flower and wanted to finish that first, plus the honey made me think a bit of Elie Saab le parfum. By the time I had finished illicit flower, illicit had gone 🤦♀️ I quite like honey! I think I saw illicit recently on a discounter website, if there is a smaller bottle, I might try it. @@dr.claire.perfume Hey Claire, you can get Illicit from notino if you want. 😊Regarding Elie Saab le parfum, I think to me that one is more about white florals and I find it hard to wear it at work, 'cause it's too strong. Illicit is more about the honey, it's more like a warm drink with honey, ginger and a bit flower juice extract inside. (We Iranians sometimes add flower juice (from different flowers) to cold or hot drinks, I just you try that too if you haven't already😊I'm sure you can find these extracts in an Iranian shop)

Yes, Elie Saab is very heavy white florals indeed! It's one that can easily give me a headache! I rarely wear it because of that, but I do really like how it smells.

I think you'd have liked the Karl Lagerfeld, I wore it to work for a lot of the spring, it went quickly because it was deceptive. I felt like it was quiet but then it would dry and it would get very cosy and nicely sweet.
