Many, MANY moons ago, I used a stove top "simple" basic stove top pressure canner and loved it; however, I had help with moving it while filled with water. Now that I have to do it all by myself (in my 70s) I do not have the strength to lift one to pour out the water. I purchased the Presto digital canner and LOVE it. It's easy for me to use and light enough for me to feel comfortable with all the steps. Folks, all you have to do is listen for the prompts, it's that simple. I didn't can for over 10 years due to lack of strength (and neuropathy) - but I'm canning again and so happy to be doing it.
Love watching all of you around the farm, but especially the way your girls pitch in to learn, to do and to make things work. Keep it up!!
I wanted to use the stovetop presto canner, and tried it once. It was then that I discovered that my electric coil burners would not hold the heat steady for constant pressure! Who knew that electric stoves cycle like this?!!! So, it was either get a new gas stove (propane in my area) and run a line to it , or go with an electric canner. I bought a Nesco (smaller but less expensive) and I love it! My small batch canning is off and running! If I ever get a gas stove, I will also use the basic presto.
I love when our children find what they love to do and are able to share that by teaching us! What a sense of accomplishment! I just started canning this year and love it.
I also love that your daughter has taken on the canning process everyone should know how to do this it’s so important to preserve your own food especially in the Times that we have right now
If you. haven’t tried the digital Pressure canner you’re missing out it is a major game changer I absolutely love mine
Not started canning yet . Just studying it , and the pressure cooking one seems safe . My biggest fear is getting my family sick 😷 if I do it wrong😢.
will be canning for the first time this year (grands want to learn- we also have a huge garden and live on a farm) we have always put everything in our many freezers- I have been gifted a stove top canner- but the presto seems a better fit(we use our instant pots all the time) seems to kind of the same idea - but what may have sealed the deal is that you can also use as a water bath- was looking to buy a waterbath pot- but with this presto I won't have to- thanks so much for this tutorial

I am really hoping that Santa brings me a presto electric pressure canner for Christmas. Lol This is one of the two things I have asked for this year besides a Kitchen Aide stand mixer. I water bath can alot, but I really need to be able to pressure can stuff.
I Soooooo want the electric pressure canner!!! The Amazon reviews are so crazy that it's held me back from taking the dive. So many CZcams people absolutely love theirs but then there's so many, many, many negative reviews on it on Amazon. A lot of that is just that it arrives all kind of dinged and damaged but some is problems with the product itself. I may see about ordering directly from the company to hopefully avoid issues 🤔 I do have the same presto stovetop canner though and absolutely love it! It's a bit addictive once you get past the fear of using it, haha!
I am an All American fan. I have had one for almost 20 years and the other I bought off of marketplace. I am interested in learning more about the #presto electric canner but wonder about their accuracy. Thanks for doing these reviews. I find them very interesting.
I noticed since I’ve purchased mine after seeing your videos I love it it doesn’t put out the heat that I stovetop pressure canner does especially in the warmer months when we are starting to process all these foods

i have not canned yet but really want to tackle that next year i would love tp get the presto as i dont trust myself to be able to keep a eye on a canner as i work from home taking service calls while also home schooling my kids and keeping my toddler busy its a crazy wonderful blessed life. I did finallly buy a vac sealer though and being able to freeze bulk meat with out getting frost bite has been great

Canning is my favorite way to preserve. That may change if I can ever get my hands on a freeze dryer. lol! I love watching your daughter with all the canning ideas and all her baking ideas and recipes. She's so smart and way ahead of her age! I'm in my 60's and have gardened and preserved for a while, but didn't have a clue about any of it the first 40 yrs of my life. I'm so old school, but I bet I'd love the digital canner too.
I have presto digital and I love it!!!!!! I've never used stove top since I have this.

I love my All American I just got one three years ago and I have used the heck out of it. If I find an electric cheap enough I would consider trying it.

I have the Presto 23 qt with gauge and 15 lb steam release weight. The gauge is no issue for me because I have a co-op just north of me over the county line, and another just south of me that do yearly testing, which is required for safe canning. I plan on upgrading to the All-American when I move.
I love my Presto. It was my "beginner canner".
I remember reading that only 2 brands have USDA approval. The All-American and the Presto. That's something to keep in mind when shopping for a pressure canner.
#presto The biggest reason I dont pressure can is fear of it blowing up. I have been researching an electric pressure canner because then I can set it up downstairs and forget it. Thanks for recommendation!

I love my 16 qt and 23 qt presto PCs. I use them ALL the time. I am reallllllllyyyyy leaning toward.getting the electric one so I can do it away from the stove. I see you use yours and one of these days I'm just gonna make the leap!
I have both but it's hard for me to use the stove top one as I have an induction range. I can't afford gas/propane yet🤞. I love the electric pressure cooker! Set and push buttons as needed, it's the best for new ish canners like me.

I have two 23qt presto canners often taking up my entire stovetop. Even if I were to invest in a presto digital canner I would still be using both of my stovetop models! It would be an awesome addition to my canning arsenal though!
I love that Julienne taught you to can! It's an amazing feeling to know that your kids are taking it upon themselves to learn! I find it amazing that my 15yr old can crochet but I cannot! Maybe someday I will learn!
#Presto I love the presto pressure canner both electric and stovetop. I have a glass top stove so the large presto I use with a propane burner outside. The electric is used indoors all year long.

I have been water bath canning, but I am wanting to start pressure canning
I got the #presto electric pressure canner this summer and have loved using it. I had used just a water bath canner prior.
I’m on my second presto stove top canner. I do a lot of canning from meat to soups so I have them in my prep pantry. I love to can and the feeling of accomplishment. Knowing my family has food to cook and at whether I’m home or not. What I hate is having to do numerous batches and have my canner going all day. I wish I had an extra canner so I can get more canning done faster. I would love to try the presto digital but haven’t invested in one yet. Overall I’ve had a great experience canning. I use to help my mom can when I was younger and have carried on the tradition with my family. Very rewarding.
Never seen the presto electric so had reservations-I use an all American but that #presto electric looks so easy-my husband could do it!

I love canning and especially pressure canning. Then when I saw Julieanne canning with the digital canner. I decided I needed to get one. It’s had to pressure can on my electric stove. I love watching you guys when you do canning.
I started canning with a Presto stovetop a couple of years ago, and it honestly was a chore!! Constantly babysitting it, dreading having to take a whole day to put up two loads of jars, never feeling like I was accomplishing the job. I finally purchased the electric Presto a couple of months ago, the heavens opened and the angels began to sing. I have canned meats and several loads of tomatoes (easier than steam canning). What a game changer, don't think I'll be going back to the stovetop canner very often!

I wouldn't buy an electric pressure canner, because one of the times I do the most canning is when the power is out and I want to can things that are in my freezer. I'm very happy with my All American 930 and my recent $75 yard sale find All American 941. Even though we are a small family, I don't like standing over a canner all day... unless the freezer has gone out.

Just dipped my toes into canning this past summer and am hooked. Have a Presto stovetop with the gauge but def have my eye on the digital. Our small garden barely produces enough to fill the stovetop one and it takes a lot of time for partially full.
I pressure can on induction cooktop, I have a hard time regulating the pressure because the heat increments are so sensitive. I end up with a lot of siphoned jars😐. I would love the digital pressure canner!

I have never used a pressure canner. I have only done stove top water bath. Pickles and sand hill plum jelly is the two things I make. Pressure canning is something I would love to step up my game on preserving for my family.
I have an All American 921 pressure canner and I love it. However, I really want a Presto digital electric canner. It would be great on those days that there is a lot of canning to be done and you could use an extra canner, or just days that you have a million things to do and canning is one of them.

As a certified Master Preserver I feel like I must clarify a few points concerning the Presto Electric Pressure Canner. Unfortunately, the Presto Electric Pressure Canner has NOT been properly tested and proven safe! I know that Presto makes all kinds of claims, but it has not been tested by an independent 3rd party. Presto includes misleading claims on their packaging like" meets USDA safe canning guidelines".. In fact it doesn't and UDSA does not approve any canner it's not part of what they do! Presto claims that it's an electric pressure canner that safely cans low-acid food...again this has not been proven by independent testing. I wish that Presto would pay for the independent testing...there are thousands of home canners that would love to use this appliance, but I'm not willing to take a chance with food safety for my family. Why wouldn't they be willing to go through the rigerous testing...unless they know it will fail. Until it is tested by someone other than Presto themselves I'll stick with my stove top Presto that I've used for years and years!

I’m canning right now with the Presto electric. I have used the stovetop presto for years. I researched a long time before buying the presto electric. I like it! I like the preset -follow the path directions and that the outside does not get so hot it burns you. I have only had the canner for a week but I am really testing it out on a variety of meats, vegetables, stocks and soups. I’d love to see even more of how you use it.

I used to can many years ago! Last year I picked it back up but only did water bath canning just like I did years ago. However, I knew that I was going to need to learn the pressure canning if I was going to be able to expand what I was able to can. Your channel and one other I watch faithfully spoke so highly of the Presto electric pressure canner that I did purchase one. Sadly, I have not yet used it nor have I used the regular pressure canner that I purchased used. I think it’s been because I was afraid but my winter ‘to do’ list includes stocking the panty with canned meat and ready to go meals so I will be using them in the very near future! I also feel like have the multiple options is very helpful with getting a lot done when you find yourself slammed with produce coming in all at the same time! Great series, thanks for sharing.
