@@gambler942 Well in the book Cinderella there was a stepsister that was slightly more kinder to Cinderella unlike the other stepsister and the step mother. That’s why I Disney went ahead and did their sequels there alternate sequel version I don’t know why the hell they did it but they completely Screw with most kids heads about these films the second one dreams come true and then a twist in Time yeah those were the definition of screwing with my head moments but at least they did give the stepsister a redeem character arc

See, I had this as a copied video (it hadn't come out in the UK yet on video or DVD and we couldn't get time to watch it at cinema) and this was the voice I remember. Then when it came out in UK and we bought it on DVD, it was Jonathan Ross instead. And it just never felt right 😂.
My parents never watched the copied version as it was really grainy, so they didn't understand the fuss my brother and I were making about it. The UK edit felt like an imposter, that we thought it may be a fake 😆.

It is interesting that Disney has the "problematic" track record of making their 80s villains exclusively queer coded. In true DreamWorks fashion, Doris, who shares traits with Divine and other Drag Queens, is never presented antagonistic or evil, alongside the rest of the "evil" fairy tale characters in Shrek 2, she's more like a rejected member of the society. They later build on this subversion by having her as a part of the secondary cast of heroes in the third entry.

I love that Doris was played for shock value when the audience first meets her, and then she's just a normal person after that. It’s because this is basically the main overarching theme of these movies, Shrek always felt rejected and lonely because of how people looked him as a monster but he always was a good fellow that became the monster people expected him to be.

The princesses scenes in this movie are easily the best part. It’s basically just inside jokes between besties but we’re able to piece it together and it’s just so witty. Snows joke ab having 6 other live in babysitters at home is fantastic. Doris slapping her and the sound effect is perfect. And snows bit about “we’re just 4…I mean 3 helpless beautiful princesses” or whatever is peak
