Mike Sanchez. Live at the Jazz and Roots Club. Ramblin Boogie

Mike Sanchez is one of the best Rhythm and Blues frontmen and boogie woogie piano players for a generation. Jools Holland eat yer heart out! Many musicians have done their time alongside this great player and gone on to bigger things. Check out Clive Deamer and Adrian Utley (Portishead), Imelda May and band. Mike and his various bands were practically residents at the club over the years. Good Luck Mike!

I've just had a thought. Mike really shouldn't be using his own name because, in reality he is acting out the role of an American Jump Blues/Rock n Roll etc performer. Think of him as a tribute artist. I would argue that he should have invented a name for the persona he has created. Now, if that explanation is confusing, think of Reg Dwight who created the persona of an American rock artist and came up with the name Elton John to project his creation.
