  • Pre-Purchase inspection for 1993-2001 Subaru Impreza models. Where does rust typically develop? How can I tell if the low mileage advertised is correct? I dive into these questions in this video. Hope you enjoy - Cheers!

    *Rust* stick your hand up the rear wheel wells into spring turrets feel the outboard side of the 'box' that the spring is in this can be really crusty or holed on a GC8 or early GD without necessarily showing signs of corrosion on arches or at arch to bumper join....especially over here in UK

    *More hidden rust* bottom radiator support panel can rust & be hard to see behind bumper especially if engine undertray is still fitted, as can side skirts can hide hidden corrosion of sills/rockers or kick panels depending where you are from, although a good indicator will be condition of the exposed metalwork at the jacking points.

    How on Earth is your subscriber count so low!? This is probably one of the most in depth guides I’ve saw to buying a car, definitely subbed and look forward to further videos!

    Had a 1998 OBS 2.2 manual for 8 years. Started rusty around the windshield but fixed it. Underbody rusted and quarter panels. Maintained it for as long as I could. After 100k engine still strong and trans still going all gears.
    The car was on coils lightweight pulley. Was great and stable on Colorado and New Mexico roads. Best Subaru I’ve owned until I took it back to Chicago for the rust cancer to kill the underbody frame to cause to crack.
    Still want another one in the future

      @@SubaruONLY well hey if any of the coupes are still available when they get to aus I might have to sell my wrx for one, also COVID has made shipping insanely pricey and difficult to ship stuff.

      They'd have to convert it to RHD or wait until it's 30 years old to register it.

    I would love to do a ground up 2 door coupe build and go the 22B style widebody. I tried even getting a 2 door Retna GC6 from Japan and it was $20K Aus to be imported nothing else and all I want is the shell to build it up. I would be interested if there are options to import to Aus from the US. Anyone know of any?

    • @SubaruONLY
      @SubaruONLY  Před 2 lety

      Quite a few hoops to deal with on both ends - but the shipping alone isn’t too bad, around $3-$5K 👌
