  • New players at MagiQuest Myrtle Beach were taken into a small side room with some effects to practice their wanding on. One of the staff would summon the Quest Master prompting the playback of this video, much like other classic encounters it was played on a themed projection screen wall.
    The Quest Master is portrayed by Bill Stine: www.talentplus-...

    I remembered my first time going and learning how to play and the experiences I have learned with the Questmaster and the other characters and staff at Magiquest. I missed playing and helping others; loving to give hints and showing a lot of tricks. Those were good times!

    They should really consider revamping the franchise, especially since LARPing and DnD has become popular again...so mad... T.T

    What a great introduction! I remember going to the MagiQuest Myrtle Beach location twice. I even remember doing the Garden Quest they had there. I very much remember being so excited for the first time going to that location after playing at my nearest Great Wolf Lodge! The memories will live on!
    I thought the dragon - Charlock - would eat gems, not humans! I wonder who that “poor lad from North Carolina” was that he ate! I came from NC myself, and now I’m surely glad I didn’t run in to the dragon! LOL!

    I'm pretty sure this is the same as, if not 90% similar to, the preshow that would play at Williamsburg GWL. That ending line at 4:50 used to stick out in my brain as really funny lol

    MagiQuest needs an MMORPG since not everyone can go to a Great Wolf Lodge or any locations solely dedicated to MagiQuest

    The only problem I ever had with MagiQuest was that the video/cutscenes always looked very dated. Do you have any insight on when they were actually filmed? My guess is 2000-2004. MagiQuest Myrtle Beach will always be remembered in my heart, as I lived in NC and used to go there sometimes with my friends and family.

    • @savannahlee6995
      @savannahlee6995 Před 5 lety +1

      The videos were probably made in 2004 since the game was released in 2005

      I'm planning a post on the Reddit soonish which should clear up what I have in the archive and help with any future contributions. I do however believe at this point that the base game content is complete minus some oddballs I need to find like Znort.

    • @queenkay2014
      @queenkay2014 Před 6 lety +2

      ah, good! MagiQuest was my childhood and I've been sad ever since the Myrtle Beach location closed down. I've been wanting to 're-live' the experiences in a way by watching all of the videos/cutscenes/battles they have, but all I have are some shaky low-quality videos on my ancient ipod. Perhaps if I can find my ipod I can try to search its photos and videos to see if I have anything that is missing from your archive, but like I said if I do it'd be low-quality.

      I would encourage you to visit the Pigeon Forge location, it is the last standalone location left. Beyond that some of the Great Wolf Lodge locations were not updated to the new version.

    Is this location closed now because the internet is saying it is? That is a great introduction and I love Magiquest but I hope its not really closed.

    • @SinKillerJ
      @SinKillerJ  Před 6 lety

      Its been closed for quite a long time now, I have a video on the subject. The TL:DR is Great Wolf Lodge obtained majority stake in Creative Kingdoms and took over. Great Wolf themselves focuses on exclusivity to their lodges, with a new cheapened version of the game. The last surviving standalone location is now Pigeon Forge, TN, the other locations were seemingly bled dry on supplies and support to encourage closure. Myrtle Beach was operated by Creative Kingdoms itself so GWL was able to close it at will.

    Will great wolf resorts possibly update the remaining great wolf locations to the new software? I really hope they don’t take away legacy magiquest at mason ohio

    • @SinKillerJ
      @SinKillerJ  Před 5 lety +3

      Our understanding is that it is up to the individual lodges weather or not they want to upgrade, so it may be worth making your opinion clear to the local management. Though, Mason itself is kinda in a bad state with MQ repair so I doubt they would drop a ton of money for a upgrade.
