Everything here makes total sense, and seems accurate! However I wish the plant i worked for would follow these tips! :(

Cycle time takes time, to do it right, make it faster, screw things up, can't make it faster than it can be.

Speaking from experience as an operator (mostly with blow molding) as well as a maintenance man in a plant with blow and injection machines, humidity will consume A LOT of time in labor with wiping the condensation off your molds. During the summer if we shut down a machine for more than a few minutes we have to add on time wrong off condensation which adds to our downtime

Gordon nailed it. Couldnt agree more. But..... you will find very very few suppliers or even T1s, which understand and follow his advice.

    6. Don't install tools with just 2 clamps per side
    7. Stay away from Haitian machines. Speaking from experience here, started my carrer in a shop with about 10 arburgs, 10 engels and 7 Haitians(and few more), first 2 groups were about 15y/o and working problem free, the last ones about 5 yo and always gave us problems. Luckily management learned that IM machines are not something to cheap out on and were buying engels again.

desiccant dryers are old news. Vacuum drying is where its at. Better yet, do like we do and keep Plant humidity under 20 and your dryer demand will plummet. all it takes is a humidity controlled ware house with 2 separate rooms.
