Forgot my Gopro but just did a group ride on my almost bone stock Motoped. Tucked into the wind on a light traffic highway I was even with a couple Groms but as soon as we had a slight downhill they pulled away. ADV150 disappeared ahead and we all outran a swapped Zuma that I don't think was running perfect. Front end is too light at 60 which is often the top speed. Go faster at own peril. My only upgrades are 19mm Nibbi carb, wrapped pipe and a fox float rear shock. DNM snapped in half after popping fluid.

Emmerich August A 49cc that is upgraded and on the correct setup can pull 70mph and even more with nitrous. The main problem is all the parts you would need to get the bike up to that speed. It would be cheaper to just buy a bigger engine. If you insist on 49cc for legal reasons. Then I understand completely. You would have to bore the cyclinder, upgrade head, piston, and most moving parts inside engine. You would also need a shift kit, performance exhaust, and performance carb perfectly tuned. Sealed hubs and preferably double walled rims. A bicycle that can handle everything and has replaceable parts and a trustworthy frame. For me to feel comfortable on a bike that upgraded just the bicycle alone is going to run upwards of $500! Your looking at well over $2,000 if you do it correctly and it be somewhat reliable and safe.

No special license needed for the 49cc. If you get the 125cc or higher you'll have to register it and then it will basically be treated like a motorcycle so you'll need insurance, license plate, etc.

Different states have different laws. You don't need a license in Georgia, but in North Carolina any bike with a motor has to be registered, and insured. Check your local DOT before purchasing. About 25 states currently require the 49cc Motoped to be registered and/or insured. Motoped will NOT tell you this.

@@StraightFaces I have the fat Moto 4-stroke 80cc motorized bicycle with pedals. I come to find out if the drive chain is too snug I cannot pedal it 12 foot. With the drive chain slack clearance up to a little under 2 inch of chain slack play in the top drive chain in the center measurement. I can pedal long distances up some hills with the engine off. But my bike is only around 86 lb total without me on it. The fat Moto when I first got it and it come out on doorsteps in 2019 it didn't have any instructions. So I called lots of motorcycle and ATV places about chain slack minimum to maximum play clearance. And everybody said it's better to be too loose than too tight on the chain. One guy on CZcams on his fat Moto wore out his Jack shaft, gears and chain because his drive chain was too tight. Think about it the tighter the drive chain is the more friction it makes and a loss of power. If you want to see for yourself tighten up the drive chain and take a mile per hour test pass. Then loosen the chain to the maximum and take a mile per hour test pass and you'll see the difference.

I have had a 49cc Pro, for about 8 months. I bang around on and off road, with no real issues. It is very well received by other road users, but I am super legit as I ride...
ie...I rigged up, brake lights, tail light, headlight, turn signals, and a horn. Cops have not given me any trouble, I drive by Tacoma Police Headquarters daily and get smiles and thumbs ups (even though it is not technically legal in WA without being registered).
I bought it for $2900 and change, direct shipping to my house (only had to put the handle bars on, oil, gas, and riding in about 20 min. Has not broken down, leaked, or any other mechanical issues.
Should you get one I would...
    - wrap the exhaust
    - LED light strip w/brake/running/turn signals
    - LED turn signal relay
    - a Horn
    - a switch with horn/signals/lights
    - Front fender
    - some type of LED headlights and turn signals on front
All of the parts I used were purchased on Amazon and the total cost was under $100.
I have seen some negative reviews, but I really don't understand why they have had problems.
I will be making a video showing my bike and its accessories...Soon.

The negative reviews are mainly from people who just don't understand what the bike is for. For some reason people think a Motoped can out right replace a dirt bike which is funny. As a commuter bike it's perfect! I've never had trouble with cops in Atlanta, nobody is going to check your bike here. Can you link the brake light, horn, and everything needed for the turn signals? You don't need them legally here but for under $100 why not ride a little safer.

    Only 45 on a 125cc?? My 66cc 2-stroke does 44 at the moment.

Watch the video! It hit 54. Would go faster if the tires weren't low

    • @len9483
      @len9483 Před 4 lety

@@StraightFaces I'm still not understanding why your tires are low. That's dangerous as well as making sure your top speed isn't as good as it should be. Ever try making an evasive move at 50 MPH with a low front tire? No bueno. I love my Motoped out here in Arizona!

Eric s I'm 6'2" and weigh about 165lbs (very tall and skinny). I have a 125cc dirt bike and it will go 49mph. So that's not too bad!

Michael KnightRider 192cm (6.2 feet), 80kg. Not a small guy. It doesn't have as little horsepower as this bike in the video tough.
