I have been thinking of a klx300r and was having a hard time finding a video where someone is tearing it up a bit on one to see what it can do. You have showed me it’s plenty capable. Thanks!

My 07 has been a great bike for me so far, very maneuverable in the woods, soft suspension and it will happily chug along at low rpm without stalling too easily. It's not a race bike or dedicated hard Enduro machine, but you can still try to ride it like one 😀

Awesome bike. I love my efi KLX250, but always wanted to pick up an older 300R and redo it as a project...and If i liked it replace my newer bike. Problem is Im clueless with carb's, jetting. Question : With that CV carb, can u lug real low smoothly in second gear? My 250 isnt that powerful and heavy, but its soooo smooth on/off the throttle that its easy to enduro ride part time on dual sport trips.

It handles lugging in 2nd pretty well, throttle comes on smoothly and I haven't had any flame outs on the slower trail sections. For me, 2nd gear is easier to ride at slow speeds on the KLX than 1st is on my dad's DRZ400.

How tall are you thinking of getting a 1998 klx 300r I’m 5”7 would it be too big for me ?

    • @Criscitiello

@@lukereynolds4030 I'm 6'3" so it's kinda hard to say, you would probably be more comfortable than me when standing on the pegs but it's easy for me to put both feet on the ground when on the seat. It's a pretty light bike so I don't think the weight would be an issue for you 👍

I just got a really nice low hour 2007. What levers do you have? I've been looking for some aftermarket levers and can't seem to find any for this bike. Enjoyed the vid!! Nice trail!

Thanks! I want to say they are just some cheap MZS levers from Amazon, I had to drill out a hole for the return spring on the front brake lever so that it matches the factory one. I only changed them out so the levers would fit within the handguards that I added.
