TAMPA ~ HOODS ~ đŻ

- ~ Housing projects + Streets ON HOUR TOUR of the CITY'S hoods from Housing Projects to Sulfur Springs to EAST TAMPA + NEBRASKA and MLK we explore the city looking for the most interesting inner city spots. Along the main roads we notice many homeless begging, several chill spots and sadly the reality of city life at times can be difficult. Tampa is a diverse city with Latinos districts and a little bit of every race giving the metro area an amazing mix of cultures and cuisine. We will also be uploading videos of the cities better areas from a real estate perspective in the next few days.
I hope everyone in TAMPA is doing good. If I missed your neighborhood just leave a comment and we can always go back. Tampa has some amazing areas and we are currently editing some of those videos now to present them to our audience shortly. This trip was extremely difficult for us, being that we saw two things we made mention to but censored from the video. TOO MANY You-tuber's would JUMP at the opportunity to get their hands on footage like this to exploit it but I could not sleep with myself at night if I did that that's why this content is censored out. That's someones, SON, family or friend.. who are going thru a difficult time now and we want to show them the respect they deserve. And I URGE young people to say off motorcycles PLEASE. Well, while our goal was to ENJOY this town we LOVE and see the people there and places we enjoy we are having to take with us two memories we would rather not have had to witness. The work we do is NOT EASY.. we have seen more than our fair share of violence and accidents while doing these videos for you guys however showing RESPECT to the victims is our prime goal and using these moments to THANK god we have life, since it can disappear at any moment unforeseen. be thankful to be alive, and do everything you can for yourself and others. LOVE you all. Hope our videos can bring back good memories to those whom miss TAMPA and are no longer in the place they love. Help anyone wanting to move to this Place see if they like it. And also entertain those of us whom have a passion for urban settings, cityspaces and other Florida related curiosities. A big HUG to all my TAMPA residents watching, regardless of your race that does not matter we are all bleeding RED and god judges us based on our ACTIONS not our appearances. â€đŽ I got more than one SMILE from strangers in this town. Saw more than one act of LOVE and compassion as well. If you notice the homeless man begging on the middle of the road WAS not faking he was hungry someone gave him FOOD, when i looked back in the mirror HE WENT FOR THE FOOD immediately he was indeed in need of a meal. So whomever you are THANK YOU. And may the young man in the bike accident recover and I am sure many are praying to god for him and his family at this time.
FLORIDA HOOD VLOGS thank you for displaying our beautiful city!!! How old is the video? I am guessing a year.

I live near university why is it called suitcase city?
I work in these neighborhoods providing a service to those residents. These neighborhoods are rich in culture and life- especially west Tampa!
I would assume so! cant wait to go back
I've lived in Tampa my whole life except for when I went to college. I appreciate you doing this, it's really cool. These neighborhoods still have character and I love driving around still to this day. Wnt to high school near Robles, family lived off of Columbus, worked in ybor in my 20s... lol so I have a lot of love for these areas even though I really lived in Town n Country and now Valrico.
Also hell yes your comments on landlords in these areas was spot on. The cost of living here now is outrageous and you're hard pressed to find a good landlord/ property management.
tamp has so much to soak in when it comes to cityscape
One thing that makes Tampa feel so much like "home" are the moss-draped trees which help to soften even the hardest of neighborhoods. We lived in north Tampa in the 1960's and it was a real country setting. Now it's all one big city: Tampa, St. Pete, Clearwater, Largo, etc. Tampa is still home to me even though I haven't lived there for many years. Thanks for this series...blessings.
Yeah even the worst sections have some beauty. thats a good thing for poor people.
I feel the same way you do.i grew up and lived in tampa/ Clair mel.over 30 yrs right now I'm in crappy SLC and it sucks to me it's more. Hood and ghetto than Tampa I'm planning on moving back to FLA my home forever!!!!
If you are riding through Ybor City the chickens a part of the history of the area. If you mess with them you can get a ticket đđŁ
Yeah i go to hcc in ybor ( before The virus) i loved seeing The chickens
@@melanieaponte9893 I love it too.
coming soon i just need to EDIT this video. dang for real.. good thing i did not bother them
Ybor is legit my favorite part of Tampa, hands down. It was so interesting working late nights there, and the culture there was really great. I miss it lol
Apparently, the colorful chickens that are seen everywhere in Ybor City are direct descendants of the chickens who lived in the backyards of Ybor City residents over 100 years ago. The chickens are protected by a city ordinance, which makes the city of Tampa a bird sanctuary, and according to "mywanderlustylife.com," they are âfreaking fabulous.â In fact, so much so, the chickens have their own website, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter accounts đ€Ł. They were also featured in the bimonthly âChickensâ magazine. According to Creative Loafing magazine (www.cltampa.com), âDid you know thereâs a magazine that comes out every two months dedicated to chickens called âChickens?â Tampa writer and homesteading expert/workshop leader Kenny Coogan penned an article for the niche publication that covers the Ybor flock, the Ybor Chickens Society, and artist Lynn Rattray - whose work has been inspired by the colorful and controversial roosters who make the historic district their home. The article appeared in the November/December 2018 issue.â If interested, you can read more about the Ybor chickens here:
www.cltampa.com/news-views/local-news/article/21027300/ybor-city-chickens-featured-in-national-magazine
www.hobbyfarms.com/ybor-city-favored-florida-fowls-wild-chickens/
Also, according to Bay News 9 on May 18, 2020: âWhy did the chickens cross 7th Avenue? Because there has been no cars on roads in Ybor City.ââ With so many people staying home and off the streets in recent months because of the coronavirus, the iconic Ybor City chickens have ruled the roost - literally. According to Ybor City resident Lindsey Bork. âI love having them around. I think it makes this area really interesting.ââ

My friend: it is called "Cuban sandwich" for no other reason.
A â Cuban sandwichâ by any other name is not a Cuban sandwich.... the Cuban sandwich (Cuban bread đ„) was invented by earlier Cuban immigrants that worked in the cigar factories in Tampa...it was a sandwich that workers can eat for cheap because they didnât make a lot of money working in the factories...the sandwich đ„Ș consist of cold cuts meats with sliced pork being a main meat with lettuce đ„Ź and tomato đ on Cuba đ„...if itâs not those specific ingredients...itâs not a Cuban sandwich đ„Ș

I was born in Tampa in the 50' and have been here all my life. There were many middle to upper class Black neighborhoods here. We actually owned our homes and we didn't have burglaries or crime . I lived near the airport and Stadium which was a very vibrant area as well. Houses with burglaries bars DOES NOT always indicate a high crime area, It is sometimes added security instead of a alarm system . Some security bars can have more of a stylish appearance than others.

Damn you've been all over the state driving like a mad man so you like the big T I see . They really cleaned up Bor in the last 10 yrs I remember when E Tampa was a war zone and N Tampa for that matter. You can easily get a house in East for a hundred Grand and fix it up . I bet you can't find anything like that in Collier . In Clearwater it's mostly 250 on up . Hey I'm surprised you drove threw S St Pete like that it's really hard core even more then Tampa in my opinion đŽ
Big salute. Tampa has always been HOOD. I used to go from Himes to Moffit Cancer center often and was mostly familiar with MLK, HILLS, WATERS.. to me.. it seams that the hoods have spread northward into areas that were nice. it usually got better by waters.. and now even to BUSCH is a little crazy.. its more spread out now.. and not even the HOOD.. its the homeless everywhere.. I will be honest, tampa starting to look worst than MIAMI to me.. the crowds don't get as big. but the cityscape is vast. I mean..NW Miami has cleaned up alot.. TAMPA could be the most hood place in Florida right now.. Even St Pete is very CONTRAST.. one block is hood the next one is nice. I think tampa is more HOOD and St pete is more dangerous. IMHO. Collier is ridiculous. But you dont have to see crime daily its a clean place. I really wanna leave Collier. what you get vs what you pay does NOT add up here.
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS Thx 4 the response .ok what happened in Tampa is they put up high rise condo's all over downtown and new Tampa was born the downtown hoods got shoved North and East and St Pete is like you said one block means everything . The revitalization of downtown areas in Florida cities has taken the hoods out of downtown. Now in terms of violence jax is by far the worst because the city is so big geographically it takes up most of Duval . You haven't really come to Clearwater except the Westfield mall now you might be disappointed by the lack of hood here but the Hillcrest area and around Gulf to Bay Blvd is pretty much as hood as it gets here . It's not segregated but by in large the East end of the city is more diverse . Basically 19 is a drug den all the way up past Holiday. If you want street names hmu but ya we don't have hoods like other Florida cities.
