    Nunes has officially beaten every single former women’s BW champ. She came back and dominated every single round. She faced adversity in the first fight and came back and put on an absolute dominant performance and she with out a doubt is the GOAT. Its not over when you lose, its over when you quit.

      Yea something has to be said about having ground control for three rounds and going to decision. Nunes dropping Pena 3 times in 1 round was a solid 10-8 but no other round was if you follow the logic that Nunes should have finished her with over 50% ground control time. 50-44 is accurate but 50-43 is just to make Nunes look good again. The 2nd fight Nunez fought smarter and knew what to expect while Pena fought foolishly by doing exactly what Amanda predicted she would do an she still came a hair of losing on a armbar sub. If Pena will focus on her sneaky ground game and keeping Amanda off her feet where she's most dangerous and Amanda focuses on staying on her feet and not attempting any foolish takedowns I can see a 3rd fight going either way.

  • @thisisutubnottwitterwhyhandles

Y’all counted out a woman who’s resume contains The Who’s who of women’s MMA. Peña can’t compare. The win was a fluke and I don’t ever wanna hear Peña’s big mouth again. They disrespected Amanda so much. Rick Little called Nunes “overrated,” and Peña called Amanda’s right hand “fluff.” Lmao ! Now how fluffy is the right hand (really) if you’re constantly getting DROPPED throughout the rounds. I hope she enjoyed the little 7 months she had with the belt. Because she’ll never see that MF AGAIN. Congrats to the GOAT on becoming the FIRST person in UFC history to become a double champ TWICE.

    I was just astonished when Joe and DC were discussing who might win in R5 because those horrendously misleading significant strike stats were close. Joe and DC definitely know better, Nunes was dropping Pena left and right and beat her to a pulp with countless elbows. I had it 50-43. There werent more 10-8s because in a couple of rounds Pena had some good sub attempts, so only 10-9 for Nunes. I still cant believe they said that, were they trying to sell that it was a close fight even if it wasnt or they really believed that?
    That said, everything in the world is back to normal. People are talking about how tough Nunes' opponents are while she beats them like they stole her belt. And Pena's eyes closed, flailing arms style of striking was in full effect, it looks like she is swimming underwater. The one where Nunes dropped her after she ran towards her with eyes closed windmilling hands like a headless chicken was my favorite moment of the fight.

    Congrats to her. It was hard for me to accept the first victory mostly due to her recovering from Covid and the impact that must have had on her. Juliana has grit but she was still fighting a nerfed Nunes. Had Pena beaten Nunes as she appeared tonight then I would have been a believer. She does add some new life to the division. I look forward to seeing both of them back soon though.

      @@WhiteGuysMadder True but she was out for a year between UFC 257 and her return for when she fought Nunes the first time. During that time Nunes was knocking heads off left and right to the point where it seemed like there was nothing left for her to do but retire. Now that Pena has one over and one loss to the champion, she is in a unique position for the rest of the division where people will want to see her fight anyone besides Nunes because of her proven success against her. "If X looks good against Pena then they may look good against the champ" is a common sentiment in MMA. Her return made things interesting because the first thing she did was make a dominant champion look mortal and beatable.

    • @jimmyc1518
      @jimmyc1518 Před 2 lety

      She did surprise the hell out of Amanda and beat her in that first fight, that was no fluke. Amanda fought smarter the 2nd fight an knew more what to expect an she still damn near lost on a armbar sub. Pena fought foolishly the 2nd time by charging after Amanda swinging wildly while Amanda patiently delivered her powerful accurate strikes that put Pena on her back. Not even cyborg could stand there and slug it out with Amanda, Pena should have knew better and focused on her sneaky ground game and only tried to slug it out with Amanda if she got trapped and absolutely had to. Amanda is most dangerous on her feet while you're standing directly in front of her, Pena should have worked on a strategy to keep Amanda off her feet on the ground using up her energy. If each don't drift away from their strengths I can see a 3rd fight going either way.
