For the past few years of the May Madness remake event, I've been throwing in one song that was formerly part of a GaMetal medley and making a full version. This year, I decided to go with two! Armored Armadillo from a couple of weeks ago, and this song, the NES classic that we should all know and love by now: The Moon from DuckTales.
I first did this song back in the second ever NES Medley, where it was the final song. I've been considering it as the May 'medley pick' for the past few years, but there was always other songs that had a lot more requests. This year it had numerous requests, but was still beaten out by Armadillo... so I decided to just do both!
This arrangement is based off of the magnificent Jake Kaufman arrangement from DuckTales: Remastered.

I thought it was kind of surprising how Scrooge teamed up with his most hated enemy, Flintheart Glomgold, in order to save the world from becoming a planet-sized popsicle in the Season 2 finale.

I wonder if the original composer realised how much people would end up loving this little piece. Decades later people still listen to it and cover and remix it. Easily one of the most beloved video game tracks ever made
Not only that. The song is so well loved. The 2017 reboot literally put the song in it.... On the moon as Della's theme. (Also had a tearjerking lullaby version of it with lyrics.)

Great job. Please do a remix of ME3 where there is a transition of the song "Palavan burning ost" to "brute ost". Especially since legendary edition came out.
Handstand 0 oooooooo 2 great songs. I can actually see how the transition of the softer “Palavan burning” could all of the sudden get intense by blending into the song “brute” from Mass Effect 3. Since the legendary addition came out I can see Johnny getting an easy million views. But I can’t see him making it right away. It would probably take him a few weeks to figure out how to blend the 2 songs together.

I love the new Ducktales. Granted i'm not old enough to have witnessed the original during its runtime however the new series was very much quality.
My favorite character is Louie :3 He is so sassy and cunning and most likely a Slytherin and I love him :3.

There's something magical about the DuckTales soundtrack, especially the Moon's soundtrack. The original is already so good, then Jake Kaufman blows it out of the water with the remastered version.

The Moon theme never gets old. I love it one of the greatest themes in all of Video games. The fact it is now canon to Duck Tales lore makes it even greater. Plus an epic GaMetal version makes it even better. @GaMetal I'd love to hear a version of "The Dark Star" from Secret of Mana from you.

Played the heck out of DuckTales on my GameBoy Color back in the day. Was very excited to see this song appear in my notifications. This cover was everything I wanted with a sick solo and great ending to boot, something that can be tricky to manage with a looping track like this.

It’s finally happened people. A full remix of one of the most iconic interstellar songs in gaming, and full justice was done for it!
Finally looked up the composer to this (Hiroshige Tonomura) to figure out why he went so hard for a Ducktales game, and realized he did Destiny of an Emperor's soundtrack too ( _also_ an epic soundtrack; worth checking out). Actually makes me wonder if he just wanted to keep doing the same generally epic themes (but in a lighter way obviously).
GaMetal's rendition here is of course fantastic.

I grew up with the original Duck Tales but I never had the game or knew this is where that track I had heard in so many videos had come from, and now after hearing the whole track I can't unhear the fact that Della's lullaby is made to the tune of this and it means the reboot was referencing the video game track and I just can't.
