They got that "Mustang" sound that was captured by the 5.0's...I could hear hundreds of v8 cars and instantly pick out those 5.0 motors....there's just something about how they sound

My stock cam 5.0 sounds better than that. Lol Heck my zx10r does as well

I've had a bunch of 4.6 cars. Also built a few 302's and a 351W for my foxbody cars in the past. The 2v 4.6 doesn't wow you with power. But it really is an outstanding motor. Love how the 2V's sound.

@@SilentMovements305 all v8's sounds are and will always be music to the ears. My personal favorite is the 80s 5.0 pushrods, had a neighbor with a foxbody and from that day on i fell in love with the v8 rumble.

Slow as shit but sounds mean as shit. I love the sound of the 2v 4.6 and I have owned 9 of them, one of them was actually bolton built for fun and made 500+ RWHP after strapping on a blower on stock rotating assembly with 170+K miles on it before it finally blew up during a donut competition after banging off the rev limiter for 2+ minutes (yes, we were TRYING to blow it up so we could put the built block in it) A truly great engine

@@noquartergiven2624 heads and cams aren’t necessary, just build the bottom end like pistons, etc and the block should handle around a good 750

I had a 90 GT with nothing but headers....quiet kinda when off throttle but could be heard for miles when ya stomped on it.

May not be the quickest motor, but its pretty damn reliable. Mine has close to 220000 miles and still pulls like new. Plus the sound is intoxicating !!

My folks have a really nice '98 GT Conv and my buddy has a stroked 4.6(5.0 now) that's making 450+ with a cobra blower(in a 5spd swapped Crown Vic). Just a friendly ribbing man.. I dig all cars.
And believe it or not, my Fit is a F'ing hoot with a 5spd and ~2300lbs. It's full boogy slow-car-fast situation.. and it gets 32mpg all day long.. perfect daily
Yeah old 2V's GT's are cheap to get now too, well worth the couple thousand dollars they cost now.

It really depends on what you mean by "slow", everything is slow compared to a top-fuel dragster lol. The 4.6 Mustang is alright for what it is, especially for the price you can get them for these days.

I have a 03 SVT Cobra with Crower stage 3 cams...sounds awesome...but not too choppy...but the difference at mid range is unreal..goes like hell..I’ve owned it 17 yrs...done every mod in the book...nice cars...but getting scarce...ppl are parting them out cause they can get more $$$$ for them...good for me...nice sounding GT....

@@1018Video stock 80s v8s mostly don't sound that good. You can hear the sort of "fut" from how choked they are. The big block trucks are a bit of an exception though as they still sound gnarly despite making shite all power.

Actually bud you need to do research, if you degree the cams on tdc where theyre both Degreed the exact same, plus longtube headers, and uprgraded valve springs plus a dyno tune they’re very capable of 280-305 at the rear wheels.
