GAMING THE MEAL PLAN AT BUSCH GARDENS WILLIAMSBURG - June 2018

  • Janet and I tried Busch Gardens Williamsburg's "All Day Dining Deal + Drinks", where you can get a full meal (main, side, and drink) every 90 minutes for $40. In true "dark side" fashion, we decided to see how much value we could squeeze out of it. Safe to say that we were extremely full by the end of the day!
    Note that BGW is pretty explicit about sharing being prohibited. But the meals are really too big for one (normal) person, so if you don't share there's going to be a lot of wasted food, even if you only get two or three meals. As a result, I can't see them cracking down on this policy.

    This was cool! Never been to either of the Busch parks but hearing that it's a chill vibe puts it on my radar. Seems like a good place to walk around lifted!

      @DarkSideOfDisney  Před 5 lety

      Oh yeah, super chill, and a nice place to just walk around even if you don't do the coasters. They kept a lot of the surrounding nature in the park, and a river even runs through the middle of it!

    Thank you for the video.
    I'm planning to go by end of Sept/19 and this helped a lot.
    They already raised the plan to $45.
    Light eaters like us won't benefit from the plan, especially if they have a refill drink for the day.
    Thank you a lot.

    When I was a kid, they used to have a restaurant there that was open soon as the park opened, it sold these huge Belgium waffles! Oh man they were so good. And you could get sausage, eggs, coffee, etc.. I was so bummed when I came back one year in the morning and it wasn’t there anymore! 😰

    • @DarkSideOfDisney
      @DarkSideOfDisney  Před 5 lety

      That sounds great! Bummer that they got rid of it. Luckily there are still a ton of great food options there.

    My husband and I are really excited to go visit during Labor Day. Great video as always. It will be my first time and his 4th. His favorite ride from there isn’t there anymore: The Big Bad Wolf.

      @DarkSideOfDisney  Před 5 lety +1

      Oh yeah, the food is great at the park - much higher quality than Six Flags. In fact, I'd say it's as good if not better than most Disney Quick/Counter Service.

      @@DarkSideOfDisney < sorry i strongly have to disagree with that statement, Disney has the best food in any park I've been to.. I go to Disney almost every year since 1997, they have made lots of improvements over the years but even than i have never gotten a bad meal from Disney.

    I agree about Verbolten and definitely too bad about Darkastle. Idk if i could eat that much on a hot day. Maybe just a few rounds of poutine. It seemed like a good deal, though. You stayed chill in your hat.

    Out of curiosity, how were the crowds? I see the date of the video was June but, I'd venture a guess summer crowds are summer crowds regardless. It's a little over 5 hours away from me but I'm playing with the idea of a weekend trip.

      We didn't really wait in any lines, but then again we were there on a weekday. I'd definitely recommend spending a night or two - it's a full day park, for sure, and Colonial Williamsburg is around the corner and well worth visiting.

    • @PanickedTato
      @PanickedTato Před 5 lety

      Thanks bunches! I vividly remember visiting Colonial Williamsburg as a kid. I had forgotten it was just a stones throw from the park... I wonder if my son would enjoy it as much as I did as a kid? Funny how different his perspectives are in this Video Game, CZcams and Internet age. :)

    I always look forward to your review videos. Could we can count on a no b. S. Truth. I watched another video where SeaWorld is having a similar promotion. And they did a similar things what you guys did. Apparently they don't have an issue with people sharing the meals?

    Lol this meal plan is kind of inherently ridiculous. Who goes to a theme park with the mindset of planning to eat 8 full meals in one day??

    • @DarkSideOfDisney
      @DarkSideOfDisney  Před 5 lety

      Well, yeah, exactly. If everyone did this, they'd be out of business. Most people would get 2-3 meals, which is about the break-even point. In that case it works out well for them and for Busch Gardens. I'm sure BG hates people like us getting this plan!
