  • Took a vacation from the '62 bug project. Will be working on the little Fiat this winter. The car is in pretty good shape aesthetically, but needs some work on the drivetrain and suspension.

Thanks for your Fiat 500 videos. There are few resources in the US for my '71 Fiat 500F, so I appreciate your channel.

Salut.

how much time did it take you to do this part. my brother wil be gone for 3 days, and his engine is smoked. i have absolutely no experience in engine swaps. the only thing i know about cars is the service (still learning) ? thank you

It took a day for the whole teardown (part 1 and 2 of this series). In the 500 an engine swap is a 3-4 hour job if doing it for the first time. It is simple enough, but you should still get a manual for this car and read through it. There are some important adjustments that need to be done when the new engine goes in. Also, if transmission is ok, just take out the engine, do not remove the transmission. It-s a pain to correctly align it with the wheels. Good luck with your project!
