What determines tiebreaks? Is it actually random?

I don't know for sure but I have to assume it's based upon the average rating of the opponents you were paired against. It can't just be random.

It takes into account the performance of your opponents in the tournament. So for players who played tougher opponents, their tie break is higher. Makes it fairer since pairings are random.
