- Another year, another title in the NBA 2K series. However, even with all the microtransactions, Visual Concepts is implementing several changes while offering updates to MyPlayer, Badges, gameplay mechanics, and more.
With Kobey Bryant as the cover athlete this year, players can engage in the new Mamba Moments. You'll revisit big moments from his illustrious career, even going up against Michael Jordan in an epic confrontation. Current-gen players can look forward to a new location for The City and cross-gen play. Thankfully, previous-gen and PC players also get a new scenic location for The Neighborhood.

We only buy 2k cause it's the only legit basketball game. If 2k had at least 2 more competitors they would focus on what really matters... gameplay and accuracy across the board.

Nope, i do it too. Disappointed that the single player aspect this year went completely downhill. No story to the career, no draft. I hate just picking a team, I would rather do a draft combine and have it be random

I was kinda surprised a warning regarding the excessive micro transactions was missing from the before you buy video. I haven't bought 2K24 (despite buying every game since 2K16), but from what I heard you hardly get any bonus VC. Since you need about 450.000 VC and you het 1.000-1.200 VC you need to play about 5 full (NBA) seasons to max your player. Anything below an 85 overall is not viable online. I assume that you need to play about 200 games offline before you are able to play online, unless you are willing to spend a lot of your hard earned cash.

Just play NBA ERA you can create your own player or take control of any player you desire. You can can edit and or adjust any player you choose to play without micro transactions

NBA Live tried, I think back in 2018, but it wasn't the same NBA Live that we all remember. NBA Live is dead. NBA 2K took its place. NBA 2K is like Madden. Too powerful and too good of a game to have any real competition.

It's the way it's been with all sports games for the past decade. Not just 2K sports. Including MADDEN and FIFA
You don't even have enough time to enjoy the current version before they're already pumping out next year's version. All sports games should have a 2-3 year gap before putting out the next version. One year simply is not enough time to enjoy the game.
I can't speak for the online stuff, but the offline franchise mode is awesome. :)
i'm playing myGM offline in 2k19 and is still great in 2023

I don’t even play multi player I just want to play my career by myself. I used to be able to grind my career the old fashioned way but everything is so pushed towards online play that it’s pointless for me to even get the game. So sad they ruined this amazing franchise and every year seems to be worse than the one prior

@@MX-jo5dq bro only in 2k23. And it's not right for me. For example Haliburton has a super slow release, it's kinda impossible to get a green while you're not wide open. The main problem is, if i want to play HOF the game couldn't force me to learn every single release of every single player only to get a 3

What is the internet speed requirements? I have 100mbps download and 10mbps upload and i am having delay of like 0.5 sec . Cant make shots...

2K could potentially cater to both online and offline audiences by creating two distinct NBA 2K experiences:
Classic Edition (Offline): Priced at $60, this standalone title would focus on single-player and local multiplayer. It would revisit and revitalize beloved offline modes from the 2010-2017 era, boasting modern graphics for an enhanced experience.
Online Arena (Free-to-Play): This online-only title would be either free or available at a low price point (around $20). It would prioritize competitive online gameplay and offer all the microtransactions 2k wants to put. Regular updates would include roster changes, minor graphical improvements, and other features to keep the online environment fresh, eliminating the need for yearly releases. This would allow players to build their online dynasties and characters over time not having to redo it every year from the beginning.
This two-pronged approach could provide a more sustainable experience for both online and offline NBA 2K fans.
This is the year i stop buying this game. Been playing since 2k12. The greed is outrageous. They need to make it free to play at this point. Wanna charge $100 just to make another build 😂 theres so many things they could do to make this an amazing experience, but they dont care what the consumer wants. They just want our $.

@cyllananassan9159 Honestly, it only started getting bad the last couple of years. I've probably spent a couple hundred on vc. It's the fact that they are the only NBA game around. Live hasn't made a game in, I think, 5 years. They need some competition. I've told myself I wouldn't buy it the last 3 years but I just couldn't stop myself 😅 I'm serious this year tho. If I do buy it I'll wait till it's half off. I definitely won't be buying the season pass tho.

An insider for those considering buying the game. This year the game is expensive. It’s about 400,000 VC to complete a build. This is the equivalent of £100. Furthermore, there is the inclusion of season passes for rewards. The base pass is free however, there is the opportunity to upgrade your pass for £8.99. There is a further upgraded pass with 10 level skips for £17.99. The clothes in the game are also expensive. Everything I’ve seen is 10k-25k VC. Overall, I’d say the gameplay is worth it on next gen, there is more added features and whole new city however, It feels a lot harder to earn VC compared to other 2K titles. So yes it is possible to complete your build without purchasing VC however, this will take most people a long time. If anyone has any further questions about the game just ask me before you consider whether the game is right for you.

Don't play dumb, i've been a PC player since 2k14, and you know damn well the games are full of hackers. It might be like 40% of players. This is their fault. 2K doesn't want to invest in anti-cheat softwares, anti-cheat community teams, and that's understandable. If you don't like it, buy a PS5.

Buyers beware. Your in for a scare. The whole game is basically centered around the city games. You can't store badges unless you do it. Weaksauce. Has a decent NBA only play. I only play SP. I suck in the park. But if your like me and only want the sp experience. It's slowed drastically due to the need to have to play in the city. 7/10 great experience ruined by microtransactions and forced to play online for your MY PLAYER CAREER.

The real problem with 2k is the realism. The movement, the shooting, the realistic defense, and people complaining about not leveling up fast enough without Vc (micro transactions) really the whole game is what’s wrong at this point in 2k

The main purpose and ability of the game is lost in unnecessarily high amount of details. It is clear that even the designers were not able to properly gather those details via user friendly menus or interface. So much confusion because of the futile passion to create a very realistic game.
I hope sports game master EA will re-consider making a word basketball game which also has NBA in it.
