- This is the view of Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos Nigeria, one of the most iconic landmarks of our country and one of the longest and busiest bridges in Africa. #bridge #construction #lagoscity
Am very happy to see the good news in Nigeria. Our confidence in governments has gone up gradually since PBAT assumed office. Abuja is getting better, Nigeria's passport is better and 3rd mainland bridge is again. I can feel the joy on this man's face, am happy for you and myself as well
Isn’t it just wonderful to hear about the positive changes in Nigeria under PBAT's leadership. It's great when citizens can witness improvements and feel a sense of joy and pride in their country's progress. Cheers 🥂

I used to travel on that Bridge in the 70s to school. We know Julius Berger and Straburg..amazing they are still in Nigeria
That's fascinating! Indeed, Julius Berger and Strabag have a long history in Nigeria and some other construction companies in Nigeria like Craneburg are also doing amazing projects. Their continued presence highlights their enduring contributions to infrastructure development in the country.
This particular bridge was completed and opened in 1990. You are probably referring to the two other bridges (Carter Bridge and Eko Bridge) which were built much earlier in the 60s
@@segunrotimiadeyemo4965 That's the one... Carter Bridge. However I did leave Nigeria in the early 80s.. you had the train terminus and remember sewage pumped daily near that area
@@SonofthewindsInc yes...
.you are right. The terminus is at a place called Iddo in Ebutte Metta. The terminus connects to the Carter Bridge. Threee bridges connects the Lagos Mainland to the Island. The Carter Bridge and Eko bridge are the first two and the 3rd Mainland bridge was built much later in the 90s. The 4th mainland bridge is set to be constructed this year......
A potential in Lagos with 16 Million people compared to London's 7 Million plus. I haven't been to Lagos since 2015 ! I recall those loooong traffic Jams.
Nigeria looks beautiful!
You’re welcome anytime
That "before " was an apology!
Thank goodness they sorted it out!
👊🏾🇳🇬👊🏾🇳🇬 !
I made an instagram post about it and it went viral. I’m glad they are sorting it.
could you share a link to that post@@edwonder_pt
For a second I thought the bridge was closed off for your cycle🤣🤣
well done for raising awareness👏🏾
That’s possible as the president’s brother 😂😂😂
Thanks
Oh wow you the presidents brother pleasure to meet you king
Nice 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
3rd mainland bridge is the longest bridge in Africa really,l dont class 6th of October bridge in cairo as a bridge, because majority of the bridge is on land not bridging or crossing anything...Engr.Dave umahi is the best minister of works Nigeria has ever had. This is why you should put minister in their field of specialisation not lawyer as work or aviation minister.😅I pray all nigerian highway/roads starts to look like this,it will help the country, economically and image, which will also translate to economic development..Cheers.
Certainly, the Third Mainland Bridge is an impressive feat of engineering, and it's essential to have ministers in fields where their expertise can contribute significantly. Specialized ministers like Dave can indeed enhance infrastructure development for economic growth. Cheers to the hope for improved Nigerian highways and roads!
I actually think having ministers who have been executive governors is a huge plus!
Because they understand implementing budgets and balancing capital expenditures alongside recurring spending and services !
This is why Umahi and Wike are very direct and forward in their approach to running their ministries , much like Fashola was!
Whichever way, Nigeria wins !
👊🏾🇳🇬👊🏾🇳🇬
I can't wait to cycle on it 💪🏾

We should outgrow this white amd black painting of side dividers. When it dirties , everything will terrible
It's just a simple visual aid especially for vehicles with no headlights. It will help them at least avoid colliding with the sides as the black and white is very visible even in the darkest conditions
I understand you are concerned about aesthetics and cleanliness but as @johnFekoloid has already said, roads are often painted with black and white markings for visibility and safety. The high contrast helps drivers distinguish lanes and road boundaries, especially during low-light conditions or bad weather. So safety over aesthetic
@@edwonder_pt alright
It's for safety bro
Alright. Thanks all
Welcome back, by the way, how were you able to ride and pilot at the same time?
Thank you. It’s a skill I honed over the years. By the way I want to get a mini 3 or 4 those ones have active track and less technical to pilot
New born Nigeria is certain
They need to complete the 4th Mainland Bridge from Ikorodu to thr Island
2:15 LOOK at the LEFT side - it looks like you could fall of the bridge with your car if you collide at higher speed. Its so low.
Do you mean the railing should have been raised higher?
Is the rehabilitation gonna be one sided or the whole bridge?
The whole bridge
@@edwonder_pt thanks
Nice one. Pity they didn't build a walkway for people like they do on the NYC bridges
That’s what the bridge is lacking
Walkway on this bridge, over 11km. If there was a walkway, would you try to walk such a long distance?
@@adeleyebabatunde2360Don't mind him.
@@adeleyebabatunde2360LMAO fair point
@@adeleyebabatunde2360 In the City I referred. The walkway is not for commute, but for cyclists, joggers and casual walkers. Just leisure. Nothing about people walking to work.

This is what Lagos looks like😂. But I did not see Lagos here only the bridge.
This is what Lagos looks like - Third Mainland Bridge
@@edwonder_pt
It would be better if the caption reads....This is what the third bridge of Lagos looks like. Anyway I understand because nothing special in Lagos to see except those messy, bumpy and dusty roads with lots of vendors selling on the streets.
@@Feroxx65 Don’t worry bro, I will upload and show you the beauty of every part of Lagos
@@edwonder_pt
Thanks bro. I'm longing to see the beautiful side of Lagos like the CBD, Parks, Esplanade etc. No offense intended bro. because all I have seen about Lagos are not so encouraging like what I mentioned in my previous comment. My country has also the good, the bad and the ugly sides but We have also many world class CBD's and beautiful places. As a developing country we are not rich but miles ahead if compared to Nigeria bragging as the giant of Africa.
@@Feroxx65Nigeria is not bragging, but actually the giant of Africa. Come and visit Nigeria and even the Lagos you talking down upon, you will learn. Nonsense!
Can someone tell them to do away or change the toilets and junks , where the Police use as a base on the bridge, that point is an eyesore.
I’m sure they will see your comment and act accordingly
No, y need that elbow or lay-by on such a long distance bridge
What’s the point painting WHITE AND BLACK, in a country with so many brown roads. Drivers carry mud from the so many untarred, dirty roads and splash after a rain, turning white into brown. Wondering were we copied this white painting in a mud covered city
The contrasting white and black colors on chosen for visibility and safety reasons, aiming to enhance road markings and guide drivers.
Have you been to Lagos janie
Which Dubai, sure you've seen Dubai?
I have been everywhere and I can tell you that Lagos is world class
He meant dubai in ikeja
There .just always be an igbo man who will come to display their hate, envy and jealousy. Ndigbo aka children of hate, envy, anger, jealousy, mischief and destruction.
You only want to hear negative things about Naija.. where have you been in your life
@@fesderi3933 Enough places around the world to know that Nigeria has a long way to go 😏
The guy still made a mistake. It's a federal govt project and not Lagos state govt.
Federal or state, the main thing is the bridge has been fixed or is getting fixed.
And he equally gave kudos to both state and federal.
yiu must be another shitty ibodient..everything is politics??????
I made mention of both state and federal
May be you also share the deadly pot holes all over the sango otta to Toll gate way near Alakoko😂
Why not just appreciate this one first before complaining
@edwonder_pt Teacher,don't teach me nonsence
Why dont you capture that for us to see? Since you know about it
@@segunrotimiadeyemo4965 That’s a better reply, he should also bring it to our attention.
True though, they classify Ogun state and Lagos mainland as low level environment. Also, those government officials don’t usually ply the road, so they often overlook and abandon any projects on the area.
The road that won't be maintained, after 5 years go back and look at how bad it will become with pot holes decorating it
Road construction no be achievement...
🧑🦯🧑🦯🧑🦯

Don't be silly. Road construction is actually an achievement. Check the Oxford Dictionary meaning of *Achievement* please. Come back when you've done that and let's talk more. Take care now Agidor. Oops, sorry, I mean Gideon.

So with Nigerian men and their thousands of engineering degrees, no one built the bridge and they are excited about one old bridge in Lagos. 😂😂😂
Wtf are you talking about? No seriously please elaborate because your comment makes no sense. Are you insinuating that we build a completely new bridge because we have lots of engineers or?...
