Thanks so much for uploading this! My daughter is very excited to get both dolls. I'm so not very happy that they are "historicals." 😫 I think Isabel is very pretty and I really like Nikki's hair. My husband is a computer guy, so he will buy the computer set up, I'm sure. 😆 I like the girlier side of the collection, but don't love it. I graduated high school in the 90s, and it seems like yesterday. Everything changed so much after 9/11. My daughter asked me what happened in 1999, and then she said Y2K, and I'm like, oh yeah. So I guess this will be mentioned in their books/journals. 💜

My favorite is Isabel. She reminds me of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson. I probably won't get much of their collection. I will probably get both of them and re wig Nicki. I'm not that fond of her hair... I would have to see her in person first, I guess.

I like Nicki the doll, but Isabelle’s collection better. The Pizza Hut Book It set is coming here. Both of my kids participated in the program in the middle to late 2000’s.

I really like both dolls and will be getting them. Having been born in the eighties, these dolls definitely represent the 90s (think Clueless). The dolls are beautiful and unique. I love all the outfits and accessories. The only letdown are the names, of course. Isabel wasn’t even that common of a name back then. I really like the journals. I think it actually lets you get to know the dolls better than the books because the journals are literally their experience through their own eyes. It’s their thoughts and feelings.

Yes, definitely prefer Isabel’s collection over Niki’s collection… Lol 😂 yeah that pillow is ugly! 😖 Yes, AG has set the twins release for February 22… not sure if that means online and in store but that’s the info that we currently know. Lol 😆 I am happy about the purple in their outfits and things. I am buying a OOAK doll on February 1st that has purple eye shadow so, I am excited to put one of the twins clothes whenever I get them that is, on that doll named Olivia! Olivia is currently in a long purple gown with gloves and butterflies 🦋 in her hair. 💜 Maybe I will put that outfit on Isabel as a gown to go to a dance with, with one of my boy dolls. I love them both, but definitely prefer Nicki and her collection. It took a minute, I wasn't quite sure about them at first. But they're exactly my age (I turned 10 in 99) and I feel like their collections are pretty spot on! I want all of it, honestly.

Ok, here are my thoughts…
I am technically close to the same age as the twins. (I was 12 in 1999) The meet outfits believe it or not are VERY accurate. The prep style was popular in both the 80’s and 90’s, however, the 90’s added more flair (ex: mini pleated skirts with platform shoes). Isabel’s meet outfit is definitely a reference from the movie ‘Clueless’.
If you ever find happened to find your way to a GAP, Limited Too, or Delia’s in the 90’s you will would find plenty of argyle sweaters, clogs, Mary-Janes, and yes, tam/berets lol. Clothing in that time period was ridiculous, but sooo much fun! It was all about mixing the mixing and matching of patterns.
Nicki’s bed set is very Y2K, where everything was alien and space related. It was all about futuristic looking things, mixed for some reason with 1970’s decor? (Hence the ugly blow up chair that you could buy with your allowance at Claire’s). So much glitter, ying yang, peace signs, and of course smiley faces! We all thought the word was going to end at 12:01 on January 1, 2000, so we wanted to go out with a bang!
The desk could use some work. The chair they chose looks like it’s for a kindergartner, but love the computer with floppy disk and CD-Rom. Don’t forget the cordless phone! I’m pretty sure my family had the same one in white.
Overall cute collection. Love the references to American Girl of Today. The Magazine, books, Grin Pins and AG of today was EVERYTHING back then. “How to…” and “Help” guides were really popular when AG was still under Pleasant Company. I’m disappointed that there’s not really a story for them, but to be honest, I can’t remember a lot of significant things that would support a strong enough story for a 9/10 year old character in that time period. A lot of it was spent on consumerism, which makes the Pizza Hut set fitting for the collection. I don’t think I can claim these dolls as legitimate historic characters for that reason, but I’m happy that I can reminisce :)

I absolutely love these twins especially Nicki she’s my favorite and her outfit is adorable. I love Isabel too I would definitely get her too if I got Nicki because then I’ll have to complete the collection. Also only dolls and their accessories pop out at me in this collection at the moment but that might change when I see unboxing and see in store.

I really love Isabel! I've been wanting a blonde green eyed doll for awhile now. I will need to change names though since my 49 is Isabella. It's cool that she has a Joss mold. I just got Maritza for Christmas and love her face mold. It looks like the twins have painted lashes as well. I guess that's new new norm. I had kids that did the Pizza hut reading program at the library every summer. So that might be a fun set to have.

@@AFocusontheCute So I ended up buying Nicki and not Isabel. I was able to visit an AG store for the first time ever in May. And after seeing the dolls in person I wasn't a big fan. The Joss mold and the electric green eyes were just not appealing to me. I really loved the blue eyes of Nicki and her shade of brown hair but not her blonde streaks in front. I remember you guys saying that the dolls all have different amounts of blonde so I lucked out and got one with just a small section of blonde that looks cute. so sometimes you think you're getting one doll and end up buying another one! LOL

@Focus on the Cute, to answer some of your questions, I was twelve in 1999, aliens were really popular, there was also Book It, where you could earn a coupon for a personal pan pizza if you read so many books for a certain amount of minutes. Denim overalls and flannel shirts were really popular back then, too. I wish they had butterfly clips for Isabelle’s hair, that was very stylish back then. American Girl could’ve done better on the names. Nichole was popular, but Isabelle didn’t become popular until the 2000’s.

I was in high school in the 90s so some of this stuff I'm not familiar with. I remember doing Book It back in elementary school. The pizza party's were so much fun. I love the twin theme . I really like Isabel and I don't have a lot of blondes. But I was thinking to save $ I can make 2 dolls I already have and make them twins. I have a few that look pretty similar too.

I am excited for the twins I grew in the 90s and the pieces are relatable and a lot of the items were popular during that time and the book it from Pizza Hut was a big deal then and was one of my favorites because u got a free personal pan pizza

Thanks for sharing all of this. I saw doll pictures on AGIG, but I didn't see the extra outfits, beds, etc. I actually like Isabel better, but Nicki's outfit better, so I think we should buy one set of dolls and swap outfits. :) However, I do agree with people who have said they look angry, as their eye brows dip down towards their eyes as they get closer to their nose than the other new dolls do. That's very odd. I am concerned, as you are, that Isabel's tennis outfit is all one piece. It would have been much better to have a separate skirt and sweater, but it looks like they are connected. I think the overalls look horrid, not cute at all. They look too tight - they should be baggier, in my opinion. The aliens are a little weird too. I graduated from high school in 1989 and I wrote my senior paper about alien abductions, so that was 10 years before this, but I guess aliens never really go out of style. :) Overall, I like them and I agree that their collection is better than Kavi's. I'm so glad they used the Joss face mold. Very cute.

@@AFocusontheCute It's funny, looking at their little angry faces, I actually do like Nicki better, but Isabel would fit in my collection, as I don't have a blonde and that green is a different eye color than any of the other dolls I have. I most likely won't buy either one, as I really do like having 7 dolls and I don't want to part with any that I have. Time will tell. It will be interesting to watch as people buy them, review them and post pictures. One of my dolls I got in 2016, 3 in 2021, 2 in 2022 and 1 in 2023, so maybe I will just wait until 2024 to make up my mind. My pocket book will thank me. :) I am so thrilled to finally have a Joss mold in my collection (that's my 2023 gal), as it is such a gorgeous mold. You have a wonderful day too!!
