This past weekend, we were joined by Penelope Spheeris, the incredible director of the Decline of Western Civilization, an amazing three-part documentary series that captured the chaos of L.A.’s early punk scene, the hair-metal excess of the late ’80s and the gutter-punk desperation of the late ’90s. The trilogy spans several generations of L.A.'s underground and remains an essential historical touchstone.
