  • Is Insignia OPC the best Opel ever to be made?
This car is insane. Yes, Insignia OPC is not the fastest, or the most powerful sedan from the class, but it has such an amazing character!

Have you ever worked on those cars ? The Aisin AW80-SC was specifically designed for cramped engine bays. The transmission is only 14 inches long. I doubt a DSG would have fit. Of course a manual transmission is better. And it was available ! So if the owner decide to buy the automatic version, he gets a very, very robust, miniature 6 speed auto. The Manual version was slightly cheaper and a DSG option, if doable, would have been easily 2 to 3 grand more. This is not a sports car, this is a rushed gentleman saloon.

Usual maintenance and good care and nothing fails. Last time I had a general maintenance mechanic said engine is as good as it had only 60 thousand kilometers and I can definitely hope to drive it up to 500k if I keep maintaining it. I drive front wheel drive not awd, but it goes up hill in this winter amd I live in the village on a hill and its a very steep road in some places to my house, but I drive uphill with no problems and SP system is as good as it can be, no slippage or even if it slips on the snow it stabylizes within a second. great ballance for the front wheels to pull the weight of the car uphill. Manual is great, very easy to shift, actually I love the way when I pus the stick in gear half was and it goes right in the rest of the way on its own. Or when I upshift fast from second to third I just push it twice froward it levels perfectly dont even need to grab the stick, you can do it with just an open palm of your hand, it goes right where it si supposed to go. 1 to 4 is easy as pie, the 5 th is a little too far right and needs to be pressed a bit harder to the right and up, but I don't mind because if Im shifting to the fifth I am not accelerating or overtaking or anything, I don't have to rush it.
