God this brought back so many memories from when I was like 5-7, I remember absolutely loving this show and honestly? It's held up pretty well over the course of the years
I did feel really sorry for Hanso in that final day. She was doing so well, and then she just had the worst luck... Still, Versad was always a strong warrior.

I really, really hope either Versad or James Mackenzie gave Hanso a big hug after that Boulder Run video diary, it's still difficult to watch a decade on. :(
I would imagine Versad did, he would have been a pretty bad bf not to have done so.

I see your point, but as in all challenges the rules don't have to be fair, there is nothing about fair in rules.
I wasn't sure if she won a single ring or three though, because if she won a ring for each victory then it's simply a case of more to gain and more to lose.

Like Arnor in season 5, Versad was in a league of his own from day 1. Dude was just dominant over every other warrior he faced.

This is the end of Raven's golden period imo, the five year stretch between Series 2 and Series 7 including The Island and The Secret Temple might be some of the best children's TV ever produced. You could kinda tell something went awry when Series 8 was filmed, the decline in quality was evident.
I agree... Series 8 witnessed many changes, perhaps too many for the audience cope with. However the change of location was partly due to the financial troubles faced by Castle Toward where series 1-7 was filmed. I did really enjoy Raven the Dragons Eye tho
They made decisions to try and modernise it because "kids like modern stuff" with CGI scoring and that, and it didn't work IMO
@@letthechallengebegin Location wasn't the problem. It was the changes in visuals, transitions between challenges and the dropping of many challenges that could have carried over. For example, the only challenge from this series that they perhaps couldn't have brought back was Cliff Face but I believe Warrior's Race, Skull Cage, Demon Army & Stone Soldiers were the only new ones to survive. And so many games that were loved and respected were left behind. Let's be real, no-one forgave them for leaving the Blasted Mountain behind.
@@christianfrost8660 Especially Blasted Mountain!!!! I used to look for it but alas it had disappeared. Plus they moved Nevar looking into his bowl. Such great challenges gone like Water Demon, Serpents Eye ( though replaced with a less enjoyable version) or the old last stand. Such great challenges lost. but as mentioned by @Let the challenge BEGIN! it was due to financial difficulties of the education centre and it triggered a number of changes most of us didn't come to accept until seeing series 11 in 2017
@@mohammedali-zd1rs I don't know about you but I didn't accept them even after 2017. I moderately disliked series 8,9 & 10. I hated the rival.

You say that but he almost faced Way of the Warrior on Day 2 if he didn't follow Versad on one of the questions in Demon Square. So luck balanced it's self out.

Glad Versad won, he deserved it. Although so did Danil, the way of the warrior was so harsh on him
And so did Hanso. She could have won if not for the fact that on the final day she had to 1V1V1 against a top tier warrior like Versad and her arch nemesis the Blasted Mountain.

Hanso was extremely unlucky at the end. She probably put in the overall best performance through the last week and lost it all on the last day

I actually really liked Beron as he tried his best and wasn't always disappointed when he lost
He should've finished 4th instead of Sonos, and Lenat shouldve came 5th
At least he can go taking away the fact that he was the only warrior to ever beat The Chasm.

I feel sorry for hanso on the wrestling because it was kind of unfair for her to only get one ring and still lose a life.

Pity, she brought her worst performance of the week on the final day, she was unlucky in the second challenge as she dropped the ring by mistake. She was really upset over that

I thought for a moment HANSO was going to be The Ultimate Warrior, but after knowing she would have to Enter The Blasted Mountain again, I could just feel VERSAD would have the advantage over her going into The Final Day, based on their statistics from their opening weeks

I miss Raven so much
Hanso did excel at many of the challenges during the Final Week, but when it came to the all important BLASTED MOUNTAIN, it was a definite case of DE-JA-VU. In THE CHASM it looked like she was holding onto the Boulders which I'm sure is not allowed but she failed anyway. In BOULDER RUN it was really her own fault for trying to escape the cave to quickly without making sure she had ALL 3 RINGS on her arm at the time. In LAVA PIT a couple of SKULLS fell off their shelves so that might've costed her towards the end on the game. And in STONE SOLDIERS she allowed panic to get the better of her logical thinking and so ended up losing without even getting the 1st Piece in place.
I guess she was hoping that BLASTED MOUNTAIN wasn't going be played again, but bad news for her and great news for Versad she was made to the challenges again in the Grand Final.

45:52 I imagine this would've been the 3rd set of Symbols that Hanso would have to choose from in The Gorge but they never got that far
The following belongs into the RIP list:-
1) The Blasted Mountain
2) The Castle Toward scenery
3) The nods to signify the warriors are ready
4) Way of the Warrior on day 1
5) The black false squares on Demon Square (ended in the previous quest)
But all that will be remembered in the past and future.
Got to admit that this series gave the Blasted Mountain one heck of a send off and in a small way it's essence survived through Stone Soldiers.

A very enjoyable watch. Hanso was brilliant on some tasks like treasure ring, where they pull a rope to move forward on the lake, tower build, where they must pile on blocks as high as possible, and especially target run, where they shoot a crossbow at a moving target - amazing performance there ( 1:25:38 ). But she did very poorly on other tasks like lava pit, where they pick up skulls with a pole, and especially stone soldiers, where they have to rearrange the pieces of a statue - it seemed she couldn't assemble the first two blocks. Meanwhile, Versad was a more reliable warrior than Hanso, he was especially great on straight fighting challenges and hardly ever made a mistake. So he fully deserves the Staff of Power. That staff looked a bit disappointing to me, it didn't have any colourful precious stones. Danil was amazing at Way of the Warrior, passing all challenges except the very last one. Had he gone just a little bit slower, he surely would have won Way of the Warrior, taking the second place over Versad and probably giving the final victory to Hanso in the end.

I think if Danil had completed the way of the warrior, Hanso would have still been in second place because she was unlucky TWICE in the challenges of blasted mountain then Raven would have had the first cloud ultimate warrior

When I first watched the final week, after Danil went out before the credits started with the preview for the last episode, part of me thought "Well, there's only Hanso and Versad to face the Last Stand... wait, does that mean they're gonna do the Series 2-3 version or are they just gonna shut off one of the lanes in the course?" Needless to say, it ended up being the latter.
If they reverted the Last Stand back to its original self for a one-off (as only two warriors were left by then and Series 2-3 had two warriors do the Last Stand on the final day), would Versad still have won easily? I'd be curious to hear everyone's thoughts.
More than likely, yes. The Series 2-3 Last Stand heavily favoured warriors with more lives, as you could afford to take a couple of hits.

If I were referee, I would`ve COMMENCED day 4 with "LONG STAFF". The reason being would be to BREAK THE TIE between Versad and Danil! It ALWAYS makes sense to give those in JOINT-LAST place the OPPORTUNITY to WIN their FIRST challenge!

I think sonos should have won because he is a fantastic versad should have done way of the warrior cuz he's a nasty warrior
Little Bean yeah but it was supposed to be a handicap to reward versad for doing so well in the challenges. Otherwise there'd have been no point for him to try so hard after he'd got his 9th ring because there was no way he could get another life
Little Bean and to hanso's credit she nearly caught up, definitely closed in the lead, things could've ended differently if she hadn't done so badly on the last day

Series 7 was different in two ways -
1) the season looked like it was autumn due to the orange leaves and the sun appears low all series long.
2) The six warriors consisted of five of one thing and one of the other, though the warriors probably did not know who went through from the two different weeks as to when the challenges were done.
Over to Aviemore for a change in scenery.
I think in the early summer was when they went off to film the Secret Temple.

If you ask me it was all down hill from here. The change of location was a disaster.
@@christianfrost8660 yes, no Blasted Mountains or Wizard's Towers there. Castle Toward was the original home of Raven and it should have stayed that way. Not sure if the Cliff face challenge would have been suitable enough to be Raven's Rock after this series.
@@jonathanfield4437 Personally I didn't care much for Wizards Tower. But so many one hit wonders were never able to return, such as Cliff Face. But I always thought that is was a crime that the four challenges under the Blasted Mountain that I thought were the highlight of the whole show were never able to get a second series apart from Stone Soldiers but even that didn't have the same dynamic being set out in the open.

Found it so funny I filmed that around two years ago up until 1:13:11 when Sonos made the funny expression. He should have been the ultimate warrior for the entertainment.
I felt it was harsh that there was a way of the warrior run at the end of day 1. I think that if there wasn't a way of the warrior run, lenat could've overtaken beron and not be first out

Hanso wrecked all the boys multiple times and was a strong warrior but then was terrible in the volcano. Versad was the most consistent warrior on the show.

They'd probably win themselves a vacation or an iMac computer or a small cash wad or something. I think 2nd and 3rd place, as well as 1st, got a little trophy.

In season 1, Lamar won himself a boating holiday; every other season, they got the Staff of Power (they didn't actually win it, as it was the same one in each season), but off screen, they would win themselves a vacation or iMac (I think Pargan (season 8) got this one). Later one, the top three would get the trophy.

Patrick Jagger Nah. I don't think he'd have been able to hit it in one. People have had the same argument over his bullseye in Serpent's Eye (look it up).

You`ve made a MISTAKE; Danil would`ve had to compete against Hanso on day 5, and he MIGHT have LOST, IN WHICH CASE he would`ve been ELIMINATED by "The Last Stand"!
@@Tim_Serpell Looking at how badly HANSO performed with The Blasted Mountain Challenges I would've safely assumed in my opinion that DANIL would've beaten her if VERSAD wasn't in The Grand Final

There was no way to have Way of the Warrior before the Last Stand on day 5 in this series and they seemed determined to have only 2 in the final.
