    "Hey Jeff, can you help me with some rust?" "Ahem, yes mate, bring it over and we'll throw it up on my HOIST" [some time later...] "So where's this rust?" "There" (pointing to the only place on the car that will interfere with the hoist). Gah!!

    Love the 2002. That colour brings back memories too. My family had a 2800 growing up that dad and I rebuilt and painted the same green.

    Nice! Do you ever wonder if someone will look at the repair in the future and say: “someone has done a bodgy patch job here!” You should try to enscribe on the patch: ‘It isn’t perfect but it’s HomeBuilt’. 😊

    You should have used some Eastwood Internal frame coating when you had it opened up as the 500mm tube could have been inserted through the small rust holes.

    Damn me. Why do I love cars so much? This, as I said in youe mom's MG video, would make a great addition to your stable. Picture the Porsche, the 680, the Alfa on one side; the MG, this BMW on the other side. Throw in a classic Mini to make it an even number, and we're done! Lol

    Isn't the bare backside of the welds going to rust again pretty soon? - I'd use some MIG brazing here, which is almost non-corrosive.

      Needs wax treatment from the inside, plus primer from spray can is NO NO on cars unless you doing butcher job. This repair was like someone doing it in front of a apartment building 🤣🤣

    • @HomeBuiltByJeff
      @HomeBuiltByJeff  Před 5 lety

      You should always wear a mask when you are creating dust, but it is not carcinogenic, and very few panel beaters I saw over the years wore masks.
