as someone who’s in 8th grade and wants to major in film, thank u for this! i love seeing people older than me going into film and seeing their opinions and how they got in, etc:)
congrats from a kid who lives in the Chapman area! just a small thing with Disney rn- there are no annual passes right now ( they cancelled the entire program) and reservations are tight, but hopefully it’ll lessen up over time !!
haha yes i’m a huge disney parks fan so i’ve been following this story for a while, the president of disneyland said they are bringing back the program by the end of the year so i’ll be able to get one hopefully by the end of my first semester :)
thank youuu this is so helpful!! i have been interested in film school for awhile, but have been hesitant because i've heard many opinions on it being a "waste of time". i'm just a little reluctant, but this was very helpful. congrats by the way reese!
I applied to Emerson, BU, USC and NYU these past 2 months. Got into Emerson and BU but still waiting on the other two, I'm super anxious about getting in
Congratulations Reese! I am sure you will absolutely do wonderful in the subject you have chosen because you are fantastic at it! I have been following both of your channels for a long time now and I wish you best of luck for your future!
Lol I can’t believe I’ve found this video. Already spent close to several hours looking for answers and this was so clear and answered everything. Thanks
U might've considered Cal State Northridge Curb School of the Arts. Very highly rated. I know someone who went there, did extremely well, & was able to use that as a springboard to his MFA at USC!
Nice video, for people who are in the process or looking for a school, there’s a school called Woodbury university in Burbank near Warner bros and a few other studios. They require an internship for film!
i’m 23yo and i’m embarrassed to say i wasted valuable years. I didn’t go to college and my grades weren’t the best but filmmaking is what i wanna do. I want to get into usc and know it’s an impossible task but i gotta try
I know film is super competitive so I went to community college first to get my GE's and prereqs done but I'm wondering if that makes it any easier. Thank you so much for this video, I'm literally doing applications right now with this on in the bg.
I know the transfer acceptance rate at Dodge is super low just because so few current students drop/change their major to open up spots but it would totally depend on the school!
@@ReeseMeyer yeah I heard about that and I plan on applying still just in case! But do you have any tips for the introduction video? I am doing the UCLA supplemental and idk what they might be looking for?
I’ve followed you on youtube for everrr and im so happy for you!! I wanna go to school to get a BFA in lighting Design for theatrical production :) and work in film later on as well. This definitely inspired me
I live right down the street from Chapman! I love the campus…I’m only in high school but it’s definitely one of my top picks! I hope I can see you sometime that would be amazing 😩✌️ Can I suggest going to the circle of orange, there are a lot of antique shops and it has a cute shop with crystals and sage if your into that stuff! P.S love all your vids ok sry for the long comment
Congratulations Reese! Your hard work has paid off, and your talents and skill are apparent and proven, and your confidence and beauty are stunning. x0x0x0x
not sure if you still reply to comments on this vid, but wanted to ask: i’m interested in being a camera operator and doing more technical stuff behind the scenes, would a BS/BA be better for that or a BFA?
Thank you for your video. Greetings from Colombia. I wanted to ask you if you think it would be good to invest in a preparation course to be admitted to USC? And if so, could you recommend an institute?
film school is usually technical & for jobs behind the scenes. there are a lot of universities that offer a screen acting major, typically at their school of preforming arts which is specific to being an on-camera actress!
Thanks for this video, and I have a question! Is it possible to choose other majors from other school in Chapmen for the second choice? Or is it necessary to choose majors within the Dodge school? Thanks
I have a question I want to get a scholarship to play basketball but I also want to study bachelor's of Fine Arts and acting am i able to do that i wanna become a actress and be with social media if that makes sense im only in 9th grade and ik freshmen matters ive been looking at Carnegie Mellon University School of drama or New York Film Academy help!!!
hi, i have a question. i'm still a sophomore in high school , i wantes to ask if there's any course in nyu or any college that has a course of both film behind and in front of the camera love u
Yeah I did, I took Media Productions for 3 years! I was also the weather anchor on the morning announcements and was on the broadcast news competition team, all things I did through that class.
I have a question. I'm very athletic and I love sports and I enjoy doing it. As much as I love sports I still want to do film school and maybe pursue a job with filming involved but I still love sports and want to do a lot of them when I get older. In the schools that you said in the video do they have a sport scholarship or a good sports program?
If you're interested in Canadian schools you should look into the sports media program at Toronto Metropolitan University (used to be called Ryerson). It's like media/film production but more about live sports production
I’m currently in the 8th grade trying to set goal on what my dream school should be. I’ve been wanting to do film for currently 4 years and i go to a school of arts that offers it and so i’m already making short films. Also im going to school of arts highschool. so thank you for this information 🫶🏾
the truth is with film school you have to go to the schools that have the better departments like USC, UCLA, NYU, Boston U, etc....you cannot go to colleges that are either hardly known or have too small departments like I did! by the way---PLEASE GET TO THE POINT WITH YOUR VIDEO!! NO NEED FOR THE INTRO!
yeah i very clearly covered the point of attending an actual film school vs just a film major in this video, also if you don’t want to watch the intro i very kindly included time stamps so you can skip to whatever part interests you 🤭
you dont know what it feels like to working for all these companies to the point where students want to work with me and think I would care about them no film school til the day
as someone who’s in 8th grade and wants to major in film, thank u for this! i love seeing people older than me going into film and seeing their opinions and how they got in, etc:)
Hey Abby ! I'm actually in the same situation, and i would love to hear abt your film recommendations
I’m in the same situation 😂
I am also in eighth grade and want to pursue film through majoring in it. Are you still interested in it?

congrats on getting in, reese! i want to be an actress and was wondering if you thought some sort of film school would help with that? :)

Hi!! I was wondering, did you get interviewed before reciving your USC application decision?
nice!
Very informative, Thank you so much

this video is so helpful and congrats for chapman!! did u take any film classes throughout in your high school?
Yeah I did, I took Media Productions for 3 years! I was also the weather anchor on the morning announcements and was on the broadcast news competition team, all things I did through that class.
Colficastion after 10th or 12th and maximum age limit..Filmmaking programme in Canada Toronto film school
Do u think I can consider depaul for film and tv MFA !?
Wish this came out sooner, I got rejected from every single school I applied to and my dream school didn’t even look at mine cause of my grades

Hiii
What are the tuition fees for Chapman University??
What about getting a scholarship in film for graduate study?
You are a Canadian citizen Reese? You seemed to be a united states of american citizen.
#FightOn
Reese please how old were you when you applied for a film school
I’m currently in the 8th grade trying to set goal on what my dream school should be. I’ve been wanting to do film for currently 4 years and i go to a school of arts that offers it and so i’m already making short films. Also im going to school of arts highschool. so thank you for this information 🫶🏾
I have a question, did you have to prepare an art portfolio to get into Chapman?
Yes I did! I had to send in a short film and answer several written prompts.
Please make a wanda maximoff character study in spellbooked
Wait but I thought NYU doesn’t require sat score for applying to their film school ?
That’s correct, NYU does not require an SAT score. I didn’t send one in to them.
Why did not you apply to European schools?
BEWARE OF THE ONLINE COURSES! Film making is Hands On....Im taking an online course now and its total crap
hi I’m Jayden I saw this video nov 18 2022 I’m gonna be the best director in the world

alot of the best film students just say that they were one of. them. Thats it not that they cared about the school or the women in it
I hated USFCA women for saying that they loved the Getty building. I looked at them like are you dumb?
