you can tell that jay has some real passion for youtube again the video quality has improved so much
first time in 9 years on youtube ive been pinned the smile on my face rn is unreal 💚
I got so happy when I saw this and I thought it was gonna have a bad day again :,)🎉❤
Well said. Iv watched Jay for a good few years Iv bumped into him a couple of times in real life also and honestly he is an awesome character with a good heart n a solid talent 100%
I think he just realized how smart he really is man.
Fax,bro😂
Reading all your feedback is actually amazing man, i’ll definitely take your input onboard for future builds.. I’m already working on my next video, if you like building + TGF style content, keep your eyes peeeeeled hehehehe
CHILLIE!!!!
Just want to say... the editing and production values on this video are outstanding, looking forward to what's next.
im a Melvyn!!!...... true say, my Dads name and my midle name 😆
Breath optimising beforehand, using breathing techniques. I live in colcer places than uk, but 5 min is easy. Check out the Wim Hof method next time, and you'll be able to sit there for 5 min easy.
Led`s at the bottom where that gap was
Summer party at jays house WOOOOOOP 🥳🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😎
i eat more cookies than u
Summer party with pot noodles
@@theobraidwood449 They should fill a bin with noodles and make one large pot noodle similar to their world's largest tea and world's largest hot chocolate videos.
@@kianstorer9499 great idea
Let's go
Update: I’ve sanded the tub down, and applied a waterproof coating to the wood so the wood doesn’t rot. I’m also adding ventilation to the chiller area today too so it doesn’t overheat🎉
first
i was about to say, that wood looked like it could give you a splinter just by looking at you. Really enjoyed the video and it's good getting content from you, kinda missed the energy! Can't wait for you to upload again.
Ur a g
hi jay! ❤
I love you jay
jay x DIY content will always be so elite
Hello youtube
why tf is youtube here 😭
😂
No way CZcams commented 💀🤣
Tf why youtube here
Add a varnish too the wood so it doesn’t rot (even though its bought “protected “) an extra varnish a year down the line will help massively. Also cut down the screws which are exposed on the underside of the lid (save cutting yourself). Love this content keep it coming ❤❤
I literally only clicked to see if the wood would rot or not lol
Yeah 100%
also sanding everything for smoothness
So happy to finally hear Jays laugh again; it’s so contagious, you just can’t never get enough of him.
I actually remember you saying years ago back on tgf that you wanted to do videos like this on your personal channel. Glad to see it come to fruition.
This is the type of content I love. You should build a DIY pool to go with it
Now this is what I wanna see on easter
Aye I'm sitting upstairs while everyone is down talking shit
Bro I’m actually gassed that you can put your time & energy into what you enjoy. Especially seeing the progress you’ve made over the years. You’re an inspiration for real 💫‼️❤️
I never doubted Jay as the type of guy to make and finish a plunge pool but not finish the conservatory
I would advise to sand it down smooth and then but a light color stain that can repel water. because if it rains or theres a leak in it, it will mold or the wood will warp and break.
Good to see you doing well honestly proud of you and Romell how far you’ve both come in life
The way you’ve evolved couldn’t be anymore perfect. DIY/CREATIVE content works so well for you
Can’t stress enough about how good Romell and your content is lately, nothing better than just watching youse live your life man I’m here for it ❤
this was so good jay! we definitely need more DIY type videos like this, was looking at plunge pools for recovery and they're crazy expensive, this is such a good alternative props to you man
yess we doo
This video is the perfect insight behind the creativity and ingenuity behind old TGF videos, because taking challenges like this on for personal benefit primarily but also providing content for us is why Jay is a 🐐, hand manufacturing the props for so much content which provided us so much joy and excitement
Hey Jay, I think you should sand off the sharp corners and top sides of the open bath. Also might want to add smooth rounded corner pieces where the gaps between the body and the trough. Looks awesome!
Loving the diy real ones can tell how much effort u put into these videos and I’m making sure i view all ur content because u can actually learn a thing or two whilst being entertained
This is some seriously good work. If you ever decide to stain or paint the wood make sure you sand it first. I know that sounds obvious but I've seen mistakes before.
It is that time of the year.
A great video, real nice to see how much success and happiness Jay seems to have. Just seems like a genuine bloke. Top notch.
When cutting the wood, I'd recommend either using a scrap piece of ply between the saw horses to act as a table, so the wood doesn't fall when you go all the way through. Or you could use a sheet of foam insulation on the floor to cut on, it provides a flat surface and the wood can't fall. The depth of your circular saw should be set to about one saw tooth more than the depth of the wood to reduce tear out. Sick job, I got in to woodworking during lockdown as a hobby, it's so satisfying building stuff :)
It’s so good to see you again hope you and uncle zoggs are doing well 💚💚
I just wanna thank you Jay. Your videos and humor both on your channel and on TGF have gotten me through some of the worst times of my life and I thank you for that. Long live childish.
The attention to detail on this video is amazing, keep it up jay
Loving this blend of vintage Jay and modern CZcams
HE’S BACK!
The editing is next level
So happy to see you back! Missed this type of content but I’m happy that you and Romell are doing what’s best for yourselves. Can’t wait for the new childish drop, I know it’s going to be sick 🔥
Love you Jay! 🖤 you’ve always been such a big inspiration! Keep doing you brother
I'm 26 years old in August. Been watching TGF since I can remember.
I can't wait to be 50 watching Jay put up DIY shelves and me following it as a tutorial 😂
Respect bro ❤
This was sick! Wierdly satisfying watching someone building and putting something together.
Jay turning his channel into a hardware channel glad to see your back bro❤
for the bath itself, taking deep breaths really help, obviously you need to do it over a long period of time but its really effective. Also, instead of slowly going in the water, just go in quick. The shock factor will be really hard to get over but if you get past that, the rest is a easy game... i find the shock factor the worst part so by getting past that, you have won the mental game. Good luck and keep us updated on your progress 💪🏾
Jay is a very intellectual guy.. knows his stuff and seeing him do these creations is inspiring. Go on Jay lad
eeeeeeeeee
we need more videos like this jay, this is incredible, well done
Im actually taking a materials class and I wanted to add this: Timber wood looks VERY nice, but I heard that it doesnt age very well, hence why it is typically used indoors, so I recommend putting it somewhere indoors so it doesnt get ruined by the rain/snow by way of shrinkage
EDIT: I watched the end, I wanted to add that a better alternative could have been cherry wood, oak wood, or any engineer-produced wood. They might be a bit more pricey, but it lasts longer and it more resistant to shrinkage
Mad if this was TGF I'd be all over it but I just found myself saving till later. Miss TGF me. Xmas ain't xmas without the calendar
Love a DIY with Jay, I wonna see more of this 🙏🏼
Made me laugh out loud, a refreshing approach to youtube vids, thanks Jay🤣👋👍
Bro this is gonna be amazing for them hot summers also, if you drill pilot holes before you drill in screws the wood wont crack as well as sand down the wood and apply a nice varnish so the wood is treated so it doesnt rot or discolour. Love this video :D
love the vid jay, just a few tips for you to have a think of for the cold baths, you should start to meditate before going into the bath to calm the body this could be breathing exercises, silent rooms ect for around 5-10 mins,
You also don't want to over challenge your body when your in the bath and build up your time in them so this could be 2 min for the first, minuets, and when you get more confutable you can start to add minutes, i would suggest building it up to a max of 5-6 mins (if this includes ice) but this will take a while to achieve as your body needs to get used to it.
After care i would highly suggest to warm your body up right after coming out, but do not jump straight into a hot shower, build the temperature up so its not a big shock
hope this helps and will look forward to seeing more of these videos, Good luck!
Why would you warm your body right after? Isn’t the whole benefit of ice baths letting your body warms itself?
Loving the longer video idea bro, the use of your DIY skills is genius bro, always loved watching you and Rom building contraptions on TGF
I like this side of Jamie Swingler. It’s incredible the fact he can entertain and make us laugh but also do something productive that isn’t just filling a car with Chocolate.
another absolute banger from you❤️🔥❤️🔥
Loved this video. Put a stain on the wood to protect it and also cut the screws that are exposed on the underneath of the lid so you don’t cut yourself.
Dude I straight felt like I was watching mythbusters I loved that can’t believe I’ve been watching you for 10 years how much love from austin Texas ❤️
That is a bloody amazing job bro! based off this im gonna have a crack at saving up and doing one myself. The only thing I would've recommended that you can potentially change down the track is the material choice for the divider betweer the tub and the chiller. MDF is a good timber for dry internal applications but as soon as it gets any moisture in it it swells and begins to disintegrate. So for the longevity of the tub, replacing it with some sort of marine plywood might be the go. But again, Bloody good job bro! 🙌🏼
Shit actually looks so good, I’d say just make sure to leave the door to the chiller open when running since it needs ventilation to run properly 👍
Next DIY idea: Stop boxing and make entertaining content again on TGF
Nah they only make videos now when a merch drop is coming up. Gotta keep that grift on lads.
the editing on this video is insaneee
You should really run some outdoor led light’s along the bottom of the lowest planks it would look smashing!! ( it’s also pretty inexpensive👍🏽 )
You should do more of this your clearly a skilled worker and I genuinely am considering using this video to build my own in the garden
I play footy twice a week and go gym I’ve wanted one for ages
I grew up watching you and Rommel and it was because you had this controlled yet unpredictable chaotic humour that no one else could imitate
Doing DIY videos you could cross that bridge between genuinely useful ideas tips but still keep that TGF brand humour for casual watching
This man can make anyone smile even on their worst day
Swingler for president
Got so happy too see that you’ve posted again, honestly you’re the best CZcamsr, you make me smile and laugh so much
We need more DIY vids like this jay
This was so sick
Jay your content helps me out a lot it makes me want to improve my life decision's love your vids keep them going
Bro the editing in this video was actually insane the whole way through. Some very inventive transitions and it held the story at a good pace. Great video as always
Amazing vid so entertaining could watch a whole series off this. You can see the effort that's been put in so even 1 of these a month would be a push I reckon thanks Jay
Jay mate, you doing DIY projects is something alot of us would enjoy tbh. Also, as a Roofer/carpenter youve done a very good job on the framing and cladding. The reason you struggled with cutting holes in the sheet metal because no bits you used were for the job lmao, youd wanna use something called a step drill bit
The spark of love for the Videos again you can see it! Also stealing the handle from the house crack up ahaha
I wish Jay had mentioned at the beginning the reason why hes making a cold plunge to begin with other than doing it cheaper that retailers, could have talked about muscle recovery, how it boosts dopamine levels by 200% and many other benefits, which could then inspire others to either build or make one themselves when they know why its so good for you
So happy to see you post again Jay❤
I've only just found your channel and I'm in love with it❤
The editing is beyond regular youtubers. Jay, you savage, the content is fire!
When screwing wood right near the edge pre drill the wood first and then put the screw in to top it splitting, great video👊🏻
To put it simply, getting over the shock of the cold water comes down to one thing... Breathwork
Work your way down in the bath temp, don’t force your body into temperatures it’s not ready for, I myself tried going straight to freezing and it hurt my mental state and made me feel unwell, but adjusting the temp down each time gradually, made it feel great 👌🏽 Well done man you did a great job on this build 🙂
Really good build. Looking forward to seeing more ❤
Absolutely love this jay. Big up your inspirational
Great job. That small gap all around under is good for some led strips, should look nice in dark
Absolutely loving ur D.I.Y uploads! Please keep them coming ur a total legend!
Hi jay, I think the overall look matches the rest of the deck but I was going to suggest painting it white which reflects the heat from outside, especially during warmer months which might help it reach the lower temperatures. I would also suggest a layer of insulation below the trough where alot of the cold might escape
This video is so cool man, I remember when Jay spoke about doing DIY on this channel years ago.
Great content and genuinely helpful. respect 👊💪
Solid work that. You should build a sauna at the opposite side, perfect for hot and cold recovery. Keep the DIY videos coming
Nice vid bro, usually diy videos are so boring but got a great flow in this
Yes jay. Love it. Made my day honestly
love this DIY work Jay, been a fan for years on TGF. One thing to consider, you should sand the edges and timber so you don't cut yourself and so its not rough.
seeing that you uploaded make me so happy
Jay it's sick to see you doing these sorts of projects! I live local and was actually at that wickes for my own projects over the Easter break, It's still mad to see this area on a huge channel. For advice, I've got no idea of your pre existing knowledge in regards to this stuff aside from what you've done in this vid, so I don't mean any disrespect if this stuff is obvious. I've been getting into woodworking myself lately so some tools I'd recommend are:
An orbital sander to go over panels at the end (Though it looks like you've already done that). A drill set going to 13mm in 0.5mm steps and get larger sizes as and when they are needed, a chisel drill set and countersink drill bits. When you pre drill the screw holes and countersink them, the screw heads sit flush and don't chip the wood. And that bit where the hole saw was skrt-skrtin all over the place, a step drill makes putting holes into sheet steel so much easier. A palm router for doing things like putting in that slot for the ketch on the inside of the lid, it would also be helpful to chamfer/round off the edge of the wood panels. F clamps, you seriously can never have enough of these things, but don't get them from wickes they're a rip off there, can get packs of 12 for like £50 on amazon. Something else I'd recommend but can be pricey, is a bench top mitre saw. Really helpful for making straight cuts perpendicular, on an angle, and to a stop so the pieces are all to the same length.
Hope that's helpful and hoping you make more content like this Jay!
Jay been listening to ur music man,it's fire brother,I Wana see u push that more cus it's sounds like it comes natural to ya,it's good to see ya back on vids aswell man, bless up bro and romell
Great video J glad to see you enjoyed making it
You should maybe try putting beeswax or wood oil to make the woodgrain look really nice and it would prevent the wood from rotting or getting weathered
Looks pretty sick tbf for a DIY job 💯👌🏻
Really nice video Jay would love to see a series on your DIY's!
YOU NEEEEED!!!! Bulkhead Fitting, G1/2 Male, Tube Adaptor Connector Hose Fitting
Love when jay is loving making content, its just the best also THOSE NEW CHILDISH PIECES WHAT DO YOU MEAN
@jayswingler you are a legend i want one these plunge baths myself now 😂 absolute quality 👌
i loved this. hands down class. my biggest stress though is that my man was cutting his wood INSIDE.
I love when jay make new projects 😂
Even if you don’t have an interest in the content of this video, stay for the editing. Wow.
as chaotic as this dudes videos used to be, their enginutiy really shined and it shows how far they've come by building shit like this
Great videos man, keep it up! I also liked the lego tent one and when you made your room into a terrarium.
I built a sauna out of scrap wood from old homes built in 1900 in Louisiana. Square nails and all. Found it in a dumpster. Bought a cheap sauna, Heather, for 250 dollars and wired to what used to be my kitchen stove . I had a kitchen in the living room and built a wall. 500 total. I have the best wood in my sauna. It's amazing what you can built yourself. I'm going to do a cold plunge next.
the new editing style for his vids are class. also the pacing is banging and i can bet my dads big toe that this will make jay really popular and put his name on the map
Like that this is the content, more on the self improvement side which is always good to see
bro i feel like i just watched an apple commercial, the editing is sick!!
Man I've missed you Jay and I think you've given me a spring in me step like I used to have :D
Love the DIY vids the most!!!
