Big thanks to Ms. Unicorn for filming and Trek Benelux for loaning me the bike!

I don't remember the last time I watched such a great review. Succint and up to the point, covered everything we need to know about the bike. The video editing is also great. Keep it up!
Great video, thanks! Have a Roscoe 9 at home right now. Can't wait to try it out!
It never ceases to amaze me with reviewers wanting higher end components on bikes at a certain price point. If you want this fork, these brakes etc. you are going to have spend more money buddy. That is the way the world works. I want a Ferrari foe the price of a Toyota.
Don't we all
"take a pain brush and beat the devil out of it." 2021 and Bob Ross references are still going strong. I can dig it
Great reweiew.
i have the 2021 roscoe 7 and like it alot.
Goeie video!
I have a Roscoe 8 coming in January, really glad to see someone reviewing the bike that has actually been able to ride it. The 8 comes with 4 piston Shimano MT420 brakes so hopefully those solve the main issue you had with the 7. Your description of how it rides really fits what I'm looking for, but I'll probably take it on some downhill trails just for the challenge!
Check out Canyon Stoic 4. Pretty much all the components are better than on the Roscoe 8 for a lot less money!
@@Minioinkkie I'm already aware of the Stoic, and given the choice I would take it over the Roscoe. However, as I said I have a Roscoe on the way scheduled to arrive in January, whereas the Stoic won't even be back in stock until the summer.
Hey , did we order from the same shop . . . .lol
Ordered here in OZ for early January. Which color scheme did you go with!!
@@BuggSmasher Nah I'm from the United States east coast. I went for the olive black/red.
@@BuggSmasher I'm In Oz myself waiting on a roscoe 8 in blue myself can't wait
I appreciate your Bob Ross reference.
I ordered one; told it will arrive in May 2022. Is the shifter clamp or I spec on this Roscoe 7. Thanks.
Is there a bolt hole in front fork to screw in a mud guard or will I have to go velcro ? I'm trying to get all my gear ready for when my Roscoe comes in
I tried ordering one but was told it wouldn't be available until November 2022! So I went with a Santa Cruz Chameleon instead. Appreciate the review, first one out there!
Good choice!
the mt200's take a while to bed in, I swapped my levers to slx servo waves and it made the brakes MUCH more easy to apply power, but even before, I had absolutely no issues doing stoppies and all the other things that require good stopping power, not to mention that literally almost every singe bike manufacturer (excluding direct to consumer) has mt200's at the 2k price range
Just got a Roscoe 7 🙌
Thanks for the review! I've just tested a Roscoe 6 for our blog. I loved the bike but hated the Suntour Fork! However this bike is fun! How tall are you? I'm looking into a size XL (i'm a little bit over 6'1 / 186,5 cm).
I'm 1m84 in the morning.
@@UnicornBikes Thanks! The XL should work for me!
190cm and thinking about size xl for my first mtb hope thats good for me
I rode the trek roscoe 7 Down a Black diamond and it seemed to handle decently, I upgraded the handlebars tho but I doubt it would do any difference
Hi
Can I ask what size frame?
And what's your height....they seem small in all thier sizes..
Thanks
what is a good front suspension to upgrade to?
Thank you for a no bullshit review. I don't get all the bike components and whatever, I just want to know if it shreds or not. Everything but blacks, got it.
Lol
Nice review. I am 5’11/180.5 cm would you recommend a large for me? Thanks.
Yes
How much are those bikes currently selling for in Europe? I saw that they are a lot cheaper over there
The roscoe 7 2021 m/l I would say are sized on the small side the spec overall is good the bike is sapposed to be a trail feels more like enduro I swapped out foe a longer stem helps when climbing and shortened the bars the rear hubs are trash though so be aware
I ordered one and then found a giant stance 29 now I’m trying to decide if I will cancel my order and put it towards an all mountain or enduro bike. Tough decision
Keep the order and sell with small profit?
Possibly. Idk how much profit I could get on a $1700 price. Delivery date is now September 22 😬
I'm looking for my first MTB and am considering this. I have a Trek Dual Sport 3 which has the same brakes and that is definitely a red flag. I'm not happy with the brakes on the street, I wouldn't want them on a MTB.
The price these Roscoes are selling for is not a budget bike, in my opinion at least. But regardless, they're really nice.
Beat the devil out of it!!😂😂😂
How tall are you and size would you recommend for 184cm tall person?
I'm 184cm and this bike was ok to ride, but would probably recommend the L just to get a lower saddle height
@@UnicornBikes do you mean the saddle height is too high when the dropper post is fully extended, or when down?
why xl?
Ordered same model will take 12 days for delivery 😻
Days? that's really lucky. It's more like 12 months here
@@UnicornBikes Wow. 12 days! My order is 6 months out now, Ordered in October, due May 2022.
I'm 176 cm should I get a large or ML?
Best to check with your lbs, I didn't try the l or ml so I can't really advise on it
Trek invented the ML size for us 176cm (in between M and L) bikers. ML should be perfect.
I agree on the seat post height. It's almost like Trek is focusing on XC geometry while the focus nowadays is on trail. I noticed this with the Marlin which had been redesigned in 2019. I had to cut 3 inches off the seat post just to drop the saddle to a height where I didn't feel like I was going to fly over the handlebars at the slightest decline in the trail.
BTW, I consistently HATE Trek's color schemes. These bikes are made to get dirty and the paint should hold up better to scratches. That color scheme in particular is not going to age well. Those paint splotches and that color scheme screams out everything I hated about the 1980s; it looks like one of those old coin operated kiddie rides that they would put out in front of the K-Mart.
Je ne suis pas d'accord. Tu n'aime pas les couleurs c'est tout ... Ça reste de très beaux vélo surtout le green miami black !
dream bike still not available in India...dnt know when it will come.. thanks for sharing an English review
In Belgium, it's currently a 10 month delivery time. By the time you own the bike, the 2023 will be announced lmao
There is no lower Roscoe other than the 6.
nl?
BE-Nl
Thx
i hate trek bikes because on 2k dollars bike put this shit brakes
I guess they need to hit certain pricepoints. Not a marketing guy myself so I don't get why they cant make it slightly more expensive with much better brakes...
