This is one of the best Chocolate Layer Cakes I have ever tasted.
Moist Chocolate Cake layered with Espresso and Chocolate light and fluffy buttercream and covered with a delicious dark Chocolate Ganache. I’m in Heaven.
In this Recipe we will learn about Swiss Meringue Butter Cream, how to make a great smooth Chocolate Ganache and how to bake the perfect Moist Devils Food Cake. Not bad in all under 10 minutes.

You will Need
For the 3 Cake Layers
345g / 12 oz Butter
450g / 1 lb Brown Sugar
3 Eggs
360g / 12.5 oz All Purpose Flour
75g / 2.5 oz of Dark Cocoa
2 teaspoons of Baking Soda
3/4 of a teaspoon of Salt
2.25 cups of room temperature Espresso Coffee
Oven Temperature 180C / 350F for 30-40 minutes
For the Swiss Meringue Buttercream
6 Egg Whites
3oog / 10.5 oz Sugar
500g / 17.5 oz of Softened Butter
1/2 an Espresso Shot for the Coffee Frosting
100g / 3.5 oz of Dark Chocolate for the Chocolate Frosting
Temperature reached in the double Boiler 71C / 160F
For the Chocolate Ganache Glaze
250ml / 1 cup of Thick Cream
4 small tablespoons of Honey
135g / 4.5 oz of Dark Chocolate
75g / 2.5 oz of Butter
Pouring Temperature of the Ganache 40C / 104F
Cake trimmings can be kept, placed in the oven to dry out a little then crumbled to use around the outside of the completed cake.

Made it today and I gotta say, that was the best chocolate cake I've ever had. Was a bit of a challenge but totally worth it!
It's VERY similar to the 2nd cake on worth it winner like everyone is saying. And believe it or not thats what I was hoping to find!
This is my go to birthday cake recipe now! I love it
I made this cake and everyone at work loved it. I didn’t try it, as I’m on a strict eating plan. I never worked with butter cream before. When I separated the butter cream to make the two flavors, the room temperature espresso seemed to drastically affect the consistency of the butter cream. I was able to recover, getting rid of some excess espresso through a mesh. The honey and butter were great additions to the final ganache covering.

Omg I just made this ! Absolutely loved it . Anyone who wants to try it out seriously should give this recipe a go. I made the cake with just one egg .
My butter cream didn't come out as expected though probably cos I didn't have the patience and also used a hand whisk . Anyway it tasted soo good .!!
And with the left over egg yolks I made a simple sponge cake and put a layer in the middle. Thank you so much.

My daughter came across your channel and showed me this video. I told her that I would give it a try, I have not had much success in following other chef's videos. However, I was able to follow your video easily. Great Video! The cake turned out fabulous on my very first try which has never happened to me. I also incorporated the ladyfinger biscuits (from your other video) onto the outside of the cake (this was my daughter's idea). It turned out amazing! Thank you again! 👍

I made my first cake from scratch when I 9 or 10, for my dads birthday.it came out so good he asked if he could take some to work to brag that his baby girl made it just for him.anyway,I have tried to make everything from my kitchen the best as I possibly can.this recipe look fabulous and I can’t wait to try it.March Is our dinner party for friends they be my testers. Steve's Kitchen why do I feel a bit nauseous after eating this? Did I do something wrong? Is it because the egg whites wasn't heated properly? Or is it because I ate too much of the buttercream while making the cake? Haha
Lovely! Well last weekend I made Anzac. So maybe tomorrow I'll make this gorgeous cake! I've always wanted to try a Swiss buttercream, and your method looks simpler than others!
Thanks Lisa, it is fairly simple, making a Swiss Meringue is just that bit easier than an Italian Meringue (Sorry Italy) and it works really well for butter icings, Hope you have some fun.

Your presentation technique is absolutely excellent because it makes a wonderful creation seem quite doable. It would be interesting to know how much time it took to create the entire cake. I can't wait to view your other recipes!
As I say, it's not a super easy Cake, there are more Skills needed but it is truly worth it. It's not a super lengthy Process though, Batter Mix, Bake.. Whilst it Bakes make the Creams and then cool and cover, not so complicated but still each step needs some proficiency, that's why U give it a 7 out of 10 for complexity..

I love how you make do with whatever pans and such that are available to you as you travel. At times that must be frustrating because all cooks like to use those tools they have made friends with, but you just roll with whatever is there or perhaps go and buy a couple of things. This cake looks delicious and I'd love to share it with you. Not sure I will ever put one together myself though. But you never know. LOL

Hey Steve, i have a nice baking tip for you :
When you bake a cake, put a baking paper on top of the batter as it cooks, this will give you a perfectly flat cake top :)
I will try that.. I think I tried it some time ago and had a poor outcome? But maybe I will try again.. Thanks.
@@Steve-Owens when we bake cakes in our home we always put a sheet on top. Maybe it depends on the batter or something. Anyways I'm still a big fan :)
