  • Welcome back.
Felt like making a video about my 2019 Honda Civic Si. It's a great car and hopefully this video helps you make your decision on getting or modifying one.
I apologize for the focus hunting throughout the video. Lumix auto focus just really doesn't cut it. You live and learn. Always manually focus!

As a longevity enthusiast, my experience with my stock 2018 Civic EXT, CVT:
After 121,300 miles averaging 34.1 mpg, I’ve had no issues outside of the AC system (covered by Honda extended warranty for known issue). Best Civic I’ve ever owned for reliability and longevity, so far.

Coming from a modded 98 Integra, to a 350z, to this... and i gotta say, i really wasnt sure if id ever go back to honda after having a RWD monster but i gotta say.. I LOVE this car, especially in "Tonic Yellow". Its so practical, but sporty and snappy. The features and tech behind it blew my mind. Its also so nice to be able to fit more than 3 grocery bags in it too while only having to fill up my tank like once every 10 days lmao. Such a mod-able platform so its really as far as you want to take it. 10/10 so glad i got it over a G37.

BC Racing is defo rough riding compared to other coil overs in the same price segment. Tein is plusher, but pillow ball mounts will make any car ride harsher in general.

Keep the LX. If you want to actually enjoy driving standard, keep your LX. I had a 2018 LX Coupe and I traded it in for a 2020 Si Coupe (which is my current vehicle) and I ended up regretting it because of the horrible rev hang in the Si. I would've kept my LX if I had known about the rev hang in the Si. I tuned it out with Hondata so it drives much better now but the tuner is expensive and a tuner is the only way to get rid of the rev hang. The Si is a great vehicle if it's tuned with the rev hang disabled but if it's stock with the rev hang on, don't get it. It absolutely kills the driving experience. This will make me seem like an Si hater. I don't hate the Si. However, I do hate the rev hang in those cars, it drives me bonkers and I don't think it's acceptable that Honda does that with their vehicles.

nah, I run it on stage one which doesn't add much power so haven't felt any issues. stage 2/3 adds a significant amount but stage 1 is fun enough for me combined with the rev hang delete. it's cool because with phearable 1.5 you can switch stages on the fly, I only go above stage 1 when I feel like ripping it which is rare because I hate "abusing" my cars lol

Agree with you 100% on the rev hang. It is atrocious in these cars. I have a 2020 Si Coupe and for over a year, the rev hang drove absolutely fucking bonkers. I absolutely hated driving the car for awhile because of it. Got a Hondata and disabled the rev hang and the car drives so much better with it disabled. Disabling rev hang is a must if you have an Si as the car doesn't drive good at all with it on. The car is beyond jerky and drives so goddamn rough with it on. What in the hell was Honda thinking when they decided rev hang was a good idea in their vehicles....
