What I do is give the ball a shaving cream bath leaving the shaving cream to soak in for about 15 minutes I do that to remove the wax coating in red dye because the products I use after I want to be able to soak into the leather then I'll wipe the shaving creamoff with a damp rag I don't scrub aggressively pretty much just pat the shaving cream away and while the ball is still damp I take palmer's cocoa butter hand lotion that works just as good as any other leather conditioner and i massage that into the leather with my hands then after that soaks in take murray's beeswax and massage that into the leather then once that soaps in I take a bar of beeswax it's literally the same as a wilson tack bar and run it across each panel of a couple of times. The finished product is soft plush grippy leather and what I personally like is the ball don't turn black like a lump of coal

What I noticed is when the ball hit the dirt which is loose dirt), it lost its tackiness quickly. Steps used to prep: Wiped it down 3x, brushed, used a small amount of leather conditioner as recommended by Wilson, used the Wilson tack bar, and even tried applying the tack spray by Wilson as an experiment. Any thoughts based on your experience? I have resorted to the White Ball because it holds tack.

This is prob the worst video I’ve ever seen on this lol.. they don’t ship with wax.. it’s a preservative for the leather.. mostly dye and it takes hot water and not damp needs to be wet but not dripping wet.. takes about 1hr of scrubbing and about 20 wash cloth size rags to get all the extra dye and preservative off the ball.. shaving cream half way through will speed up the process..
You should tack bar the white.. Wilson openly says it works on composite balls too.. the white is composite.. don’t brush it or condition it but you should tack it up and it will be even stickier..
In fact a $35 composite ball cleaned with water and rag then apply a tack bar and it’s too sticky to even wear gloves 😂😂.. only issue with composite is it doesn’t have much durability..

You're just as wrong as he is. You should never wet the ball or rub of the tack it comes with. It's not a preservative dye. It's Wilson's proprietary tack and you should brush it into the ball before you apply any leather conditioner to it.
