- Mental Health Conversation in Spanish
Work on your listening comprehension in Spanish and learn about the mental health situation in Costa Rica!
While I was traveling on medical Spanish immersion a few weeks ago on our winter program, I had the opportunity to interview a psychologist, a doctor and a nurse. My goal was to have a conversation about relevant topics so that you could listen in and get a glimpse of health perspectives in Costa Rica.
In today's video, two immersion clients (Helena & Victoria) and I interview Paola, a local psychologist. I invited Helena and Victoria to the conversation because they're psychologists as well, and they had questions about mental health in Costa Rica. We had an amazing conversation!
As you watch us discuss various mental health topics, download the full transcript and work on answering the comprehension questions I've included for you! Get the download and study the vocabulary here on the full blog post: commongroundinternational.com...

Are you guys based in Costa Rica? That’s my 2nd home 🙌🏼
We run immersion programs in Costa Rica every year in the winter and in the summer 😄 Pura vida!
Even among colleagues it's that common to address each other as usted instead of tú?
Hi there! It mainly depends on your familiarity with the person. If you're in a strictly professional setting you might wanna use "usted" but if you're more friendly you can use "tú". In most countries using "usted" is mostly a sign of respect (we use it with our elderly, doctors, patients etc). Hope this helps!
