Yau Yee Select 2015 (Hong Kong Soccer 7's)

With too much time on my hands (in "lockdown") I compiled the memories from an amazing experience and some of the best bits of a football tournament that saw our amateur team get some amazing results against some big opposition, Prem' and La Liga Academy teams, a U20 national team and a Hong Kong professional first team.
Group stage
2-0 won vs Stoke City (then Premier League)
1-2 loss vs Atlético Madrid (the eventual winners of the cup.)
2-1 won vs HKU20's
Knockouts
1-0 loss to West Ham (runners up in the cup, the loss put us in the plate competition)
2-2 with Aston Villa, winners on penalties
3-1 loss vs BC Rangers in the plate final (a full-time professional team with their first-team players playing.)
(Obviously, the focus here is the goals and opportunities we created, but this takes nothing away from some fantastic work by those that played predominantly at the back!)
After being dubbed "giant killers" after day one, the message was passed around #believe and we truly did (and still do .... "what if..." 😉)
A really fantastic journey that started weeks before the tournament with trials in a storm ...........
