- Howdy, fellow gearheads and metal aficionados! 🤖 Ever wondered what it takes to tackle a colossal 3000KG pinion shaft using technology straight out of the history books? 📜 Well, hold onto your hats because the Pakistani Machinists are about to blow your mind with their vintage prowess! 🇵🇰💥
In this jaw-dropping CZcams extravaganza, we're diving deep into the world of machining, where grit, grease, and a pinch of old-school charm come together like peanut butter and jelly! 🥜✨ Watch in awe as our intrepid machinists fire up their trusty horizontal lathe, ready to shave off chunks of metal with the finesse of a sushi chef! 🍣💪
But wait, there's more! Ever heard of a double helical pinion shaft? Neither had we until these wizards decided to take on the challenge! 🌀 Watch as they twist and turn their way through the metal, creating a masterpiece that'd make Da Vinci himself raise an impressed eyebrow! 🎨👨🎨
Now, hold onto your seats as we switch gears (pun absolutely intended) and head over to an old American machine straight out of Toronto! 🇺🇸🍁 It may be vintage, but boy does it pack a punch! With a flick of a switch and a sprinkle of magic dust, our machinists dive headfirst into cutting teeth with the precision of a neurosurgeon! ⚙️🔬
But hey, Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither was this pinion shaft! It took these dedicated maestros a whopping 21 days to complete the project! 🗓️🕰️ From dawn till dusk, they toiled away, fueled by nothing but determination and cups of chai! ☕️🔧
So, buckle up and join us on this wild ride through time and technology, where the past meets the present in a symphony of sparks and steel! 🎶✨
Don't forget to hit that like button, subscribe for more epic machinist adventures, and remember, if it ain't broke, don't fix it-unless you're a machinist, then you can fix anything! 🛠️💥 - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Most of the comments are sarcastic, either about the work environment or safety standards. If this machine were in Europe or America, it would be in the Museum of the Industrial Revolution, but these young people still create wonderful mechanical masterpieces with it. The first thing is to raise our hat out of respect for them.
Very skilled people.
Congratulations
NOTHING but great respect for these old-timers in young man’s garb. Aloha…
We may have modern machines but the principle is still the same keep up the good work 😊
Old is gold and live long ........... ✌😄
Lived in a steelmill 24/7 for almost 40 years. All I got to show for it is sitting on a bar-stool sipping on fish bowl in a bar called the Steelers outside 1 gate in a movie called the Deer Hunter.
Fascinating. Looks like the setup could take longer than the actual milling time. Thank you for sharing. Have a blessed day.
I’m guess this is how the things were done back in the days almost everywhere ..now the technology, safety and underwing of machining have advanced ..
So skilled
I think most of the comments are complimentary to these men. They did what they had to do. No one was hurt so they applied sufficient safety practices. I bet there are not many machine shops in the US sthat could handle this! It would be returned to factory for a rebuild - for a lot more than these guys charged - IMHO. Thanks for the video.
The lathe is practically buried in metal shavings. I suppose when it won't turn anymore they decide it's time to clean up.
That's not a full heat treat. The ends were not hot enough on the shaft. So they just done the middle.
Wichtig ist nur die Härte auf den Zahnrädern.Die Welle sollte nur zäh sein.
Es sieht etwas primitiv aus in der Werkstatt, aber für mich sind sie Meister ihres Faches.👍

You should put old engine oil on your parts to keep them from rusting and it will improve the cut quality 😊
I always wondered?!
In the end a product is provided for a larger machine that needs it. Many people were employed and made salaries that fed families .
Not everything can be made in a pristine, high tech, surgery room environment. Many have to do with what they have . If it meets the need then mission accomplished.
The goat at 39:28 looks ready for a job
Yes, Jamaican Curry Goat with Roti 😂
Thanks, good video & First time on any of these videos that any heat treat & hardness testing has been shown, ever, knew it was an important factor & couldn't believe that it was always ignored.
Love the formal jacket “safety apparel” at 0:33. Very classy worker!😂
Im a machinist in America and I wear and old sportcoat in the shop. It has a lot of handy pockets. I’m betting they have them because formal office wear is out of style in America and tons of it is going to Goodwill. A lot of them end up packed into bales and sold to rag buyers by the ton. Then they get shipped overseas and sold. There’s a guy who pioneered the process and he’s a multi millionaire now. I started because I thought it would be funny to wear an Armani suit jacket to work in a machine shop, but I found them to be very comfortable and handy. I eventually moved on to a Harris Tweed light wool one from Brooks Brothers of London
E o dono e o filho do dono, a peça e cara 💰💰 😂😂😂
Shit happens every day, but the good thing is that at the end of the day, almost all workers are still alive.
Congratulation for you job
38 Rockwell is a bit low for hardness. However, the enterprise has done tremendous work and the basic principle and machinery is the same, this being the 1st generation tools, whereas Europe is on the 5th and 6th generation tooling.
A peça é tão cara que colocaram o dono e o filho do dono para fazer 😂😂😂😂

100 years ago is only 1924
And?
@@vintagerecordambassadeur4098 they made it sound like 100 years is a very long time ago,it's not.i'm almost 80 so 1924 does not see that far off.
Think the weight they say is a bit off..3000kg is 6600lb little over 3 1/4 tons...pretty small lathe for something that heavy
Where is this located?
why don't thwy remove the chips andclean while the machine is working?
I hear you; I have worked in a few machine shops and that is the nastiest place I have ever seen.
Once they've invented shovel and broom.
Probably in the next millennium.
Too lazy
I never cleaned the machine when it was running. A shortcut to losing a finger, or a limb.
It's obvious there is no OSHA equivalent anywhere to be found, lol
Nice job , nice machines ,very profesional but I got a question.....how come the machines shop has to be dirt in the floor , and you guys don't do cement the area and work in a clean environment ...should be greats.......
Did I see an actual goat at the end there?
Wo ist die Krawatte ?
A losely hanging tie next to a working lathe would be a safety hazard, y'know... ;-)
I'm assuming the pinion gears are used in the sugar-cane pulp industry.

That's right. lay it down on a filthy floor instead of on wood.
4.42 its boris the bastard
No, it's Karena Macarena

А поковка?

Aap ne shuru se akhir tak (sab kuchh) pehli 2 minutes se kam waqt me dikha diya, ye aysa hai jaise suspense film ka end koi pehle dikha de, ab koi pagal hoga jo itna lamba video dekhega, samajh me nahin aata aap logon ko ye kya bimari lagi hai ke jhalkiyan dikhane ke chkkar me video ka maza kharab kar dete hain.
Why would you lay down the finished product unprotected by wood, etc. on the concrete floor? 😆😆😆😆 And what is a goat doing inside a work shop??? 🤔🤔🤔 I don't want to know it. 😆😆😆😆
Yes, they always throw finished products onto the dirt floor, as if tables are illegal.
How else would you get the chair under it to lift it??
So….why do you really care. And what are you going to do about it….since you seem to be concerned
It's a dirt floor. Or there's so much dirt on the concrete, it becomes a dirt floor. 😂😊
I'm not being sarcastic at all. I wonder how many people get maimed or killed working in these conditions. They are smart enough to use the equipment but have no clue how to be safe around it. Loose clothing, sandals and children working around the equipment is a recipe for disaster.
Sh1t everywhere. Turnings in the lathe, on the lathe and around the lathe. Why do the operators insist on using an extension bar to tighten everything.
They're not big guys & lotta friction from OLD worn threads.
@alro2434 They even do it on new looking kit.
@@georgedeaney7270 Habit, I guess.
And why use adjustable wrench,
