This may be a silly question…
Are there targeted exercises and or ways to use the singing straw to build more resonance and develop the “pharyngeal” part of the voice?
Or is this simply a byproduct of working with the singing straw?

I think the term "pharyngeal" part of the voice can maybe be a bit confusing - but if you mean easier and more resonant sound, then yes - that is one of the main goals of straw work (for me, at least!).
Not sure if i do this rihjt. As feel tension in throat when doing this. Do you actually blow into the straw whilst doing the exercises? X
Yes, sing into the straw! It takes some time to get used to the resistance. I would try going up a diameter size or using 2 straws at once if you feel the resistance is too much. Let me know how it goes!

this sounds gross but... does anyone else have issues with saliva coming out the end of the straw when singing?! am i doing something wrong? haha
haha that is completely normal and happens to me all the time! Just wipe it off and keep going :)
It Isn't saliva i think. I think its is condensation
