Stars Fell On Alabama is one of my all-time favorite jazz standards. I loved singing it with this incredible band at Emmet Cohen's place last month 🌟
Emmet Cohen, piano
Lucas Pino, tenor saxophone
Russell Hall, bass

Lol 🙏🏼❤️
@@MartinaDaSilva I’m going to be making a video about how certain vocalists soothe my ADHD brain. It will basically just feature you and Feist. The only 2 singers that put my chaotic brain into slow mode whenever I hear them sing. :)
@@GoADHDGo You know I never noticed it but Martina's music absolutely slows my brain down too. It's very rare that I can stop and just watch a musical youtube video all the way through rather than have it play in the background and be distracted by something else.
I love listening to Martina, & I'm ADHD to the extreme. I'm a true scatterbrain, so maybe there's a therapeutic benefit to Martina, as I see more projects to their completion on days, that I listen to her?
@@sparky6086 I definitely believe that music, voices, sounds, etc. help with ADHD brains.
Perfect tune to sip a hot cocoa and watch the snowfall to. 🤗
Hehe agreed ☕️
One of my all time favourite tunes sung by one of my all time favourite vocalists. Love how the sax player smiles when you hit some of those notes. The group is just wonderful!!
Aw thank you 🙏🏼
SI ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
We Alabamians have never been so honored! Beautiful!
Not only do I *love* Martina's amazing singing, but it seems that every time I check out one of her videos I am introduced to other great musicians as well. And then I can check out THEIR stuff...
This gift just keeps on giving!♥
Right!
Don't know how many times I have listened to this. Perfect every time. :-)
SAME TO ME ♥️♥️♥️
wish one day Martina does a live show in Sicily, I'll be there to listen
💖💖
@@MartinaDaSilva I second that.
Amazing thank you. Seeing your faces as you enjoy each other's performances is wonderful.
💗
Frank Sutherland Perkins II was my great-grandfather's brother. Played this for my Berklee audition in his honor. He and his wife (who we all knew as "Fuzzy") were truly wonderful people, and Uncle Frank's work as a composer at Warner Brothers was pretty great too.
Great rendition too!
I've listened to it hundreds of times and it never ever gets boring. Each listen is a new story, a new sound that gets revealed in the background, it's so pure and perfect, the whole world should acknowledge the perfection of this.
DE ACUERDO 👌♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Why this song doesn't have lots of plays? Damn. I love you Martina, you're an amazing singer. I almost cried :') Damn, that sax solo.
Ain't she a beaut with a voice of the great jazzy past too good, you n the band did it again martina. P.S. digging that purple hat mr.bass player.
That purple hat is def a winner 👍
Tenorman. I hear you. I hear you like I hear Ben Webster. Not enough of that in the world. I am grateful!

👏 Wow! That band is so smooth! And as if Martina's voice wasn't enough, that big gorgeous smile is the ice cream on top of cake. Enjoyed!

Moonlight and magnolia, starlight in your hair
All the world a dream come true
Did it really happen, was I really there, was I really there with you?
We lived our little drama, we kissed in a field of white
And stars fell on Alabama last night
I can't forget the glamor, your eyes held a tender light
And stars fell on Alabama last night
I never planned in my imagination a situation so heavenly
A fairy land where no one else could enter
And in the center just you and me, dear
My heart beat like a hammer, my arms wound around you tight
And stars fell on Alabama last night
We lived our little drama, we kissed in a field of white
And stars fell on Alabama last night
I can't forget the glamor, your eyes held a tender light
And stars fell on Alabama last night
I never planned in my imagination a situation so heavenly

Cool voice. Cool song. Greetings from Russia.
Martina, you made my day, but I’m too old to fall in love.
And that's how it's done y'all
😀🖼🎨
The shirt of the pianist is second only to Martina's voice hahaha
😂
je préferais l ancienne claviériste mais cela reste plaisant

The pianist and tenorist are very good, and feel the groove. The songstress however doesn’t seem to display/understand the romanticism and intimacy of this wonderful intimate song composed by mr Perkins. Just listen to Billy Holiday’s version. Or listen to - Moon Light in Vermont -, you’ll get the idea; nevertheless enjoy, G’day & Cheers!
Not my favorite version. She’s all over the place.
