- The Oklahoma city thunder traded Josh Giddey for Alex Caruso and to say they won the trade would be an understatement. Alex Caruso is a defensive savant who can add a tremendous amount of value on that end of the floor and with his great 3pt shooting he can be a sniper on offense as well.

Shai JDub Dort Caruso Holgrem and Wallace, okc gonna be a defensive juggernaut
I’m huge Mavs fan. That being said OKC is where west will go thru. Caruso is a huge pick up for them. Plus Presti is not finished this offseason. Plus the amazing trove of picks they have is incredible. This pick up is for one reason only. Luka. Great move. OKC can put an amazing defense on floor for late game situations. Dort and Caruso at guard. Every championship team needs a Caruso.
The west is full of guards this trade is for Luka Kyrie edwards morant booker fox etc….
@@bmillersince92i disagree. We had Dort on every tough assignment and he succeeded prolly 90% of the time, Cason is like Lu 2.0 and he's only a rookie, Chet doesn't need an introduction. Shai led the league in steals all year and Alex was fourth. Jwill led the league in charges taken his rookie year and this past season Isaiah Joe and Wiggins were up there with Dort in taking charges. Jdub is a good defender too. What Alex will do is probably switch on and off the best player each time. Imagibe Dort on Harden, Caruso on Kawhi or Embiid and Maxey or Luka and Kyrie who can't beat Dort while Chet waits to clean up anything that comes to the rim. We are getting even better

I agree. Dort will stay on Luka I assume. Caruso is a bright guy and he cuts off passing lanes Luka so quickly finds. Nobody stuck w Luka this year like he did. He is quicker than Luka and is stronger. Not many guards can say that. The only other thing OKC needed was the experience they received this year. I really thought my Mavs had a reasonable chance against Thunder this year. I just don’t know about next year. A lot can happen in an offseason but I wouldn’t be surprised if Presti pulls off another nice trade near trade deadline next year. OKC has the depth to come thru a long season w best record next year. Now w experience of this year they are better prepared for post season. Shai or Luka will be MVP next year. I expect this trade might hurt depth a bit for you guys but really smart move. Mavs were trying to get him also but we can’t compete w you guys in ammunition. I remember back in 80s Mavs were a young team w huge trade assets. The league stepped in and undid a trade between Mavs and Cavs. We had their number ones for like five straight years and they were terrible team. I’ve never heard of league stepping in like that before or since.
See you guys next May. It will be for the conference title I expect.

2 top 5 on ball defenders in the league in Caruso and Dort with a guy who just led the league and steals and pass deflections in Shai than you got J Dub 7'5 wing span out there in them passing lanes as well... 😂😂😂 OKC is taking away your guard play daring you to test Chet at the rim. They draft Clingan or Edey to come off the bench for size matters , its going to be scary hours
The thing that make him so good with the Thunder is if you look at Jdub and Shai video they do the same things with their hands, and feet !

As long as nuggets are able to keep kcp i feel like they are still the team to beat in the west. Wolves were a terrible matchup for them and it certainly didnt help that most players beside jokic (especially mpj and murray) forgot how to make a bucket for most of the series (obviously the wolves defense was a big reason for that, but the nuggets shooters shot terribly too). And even then they would have gone through if it wasnt for the game 7 choke.

Caruso has Jordanesque hands on defense. OKC may know what they’re doing, but the Bulls have no freaking clue. I’m not mad the Bulls traded him, I just wish they got a bit more

@@Jordan-hw7cq yea you watched but did you listen? He clearly compared him to Lu, while also stating Lu is our best one-on-one defender. He literally says Lu's style is more aggressive while Alex's is more snake-like. They can be staggered on/off the court minutes wise to have that continued nuisance defensively throughout the game. The video is hitting on what Alex brings to the OKC table...Lu is a known commodity.

I did listen, says “now they have a defensive anchor that can guard one on one and beak up offense schemes”, “then says he can guard bigger players”, then says “it’s truly scary when you know their is a guy in the other team that can guard 1-4 and hold his own 1on1” they already had all this with dort it’s not new to them
