If you have Blink do you pay for the cloud service or save everything yourself?

    Thanks for watching! Where are you watching from this week? We'd love to hear your recommendations for internet that will be reliable enough for work and Jonah's online school, even while boondocking in the middle of nowhere (does this exist lol)...

    Hey guys, Great video! We've been using the blink cameras for a couple of years now, We know that there are better systems out there but for the most part, they suit our needs. As for internet, we went with a "Mobile Must Have" full-time package. It allows us to have 2 sim cards (different ISP's) that provide backup failure protection as well as allows us to tie into park wifi if no cell service is near. With this, there are not many places that we are without unless were boondocking... 💖👌 OLT

      Thanks so much! That’s so great to hear that it has been doing a decent job for you! We considered ring but though for the price we would give this one a go! When Boondocking do you know of anything that works well? We have been considering installing solar and trying to find some awesome places but with that remote dream we get hives thinking about not being able to work or connect for Jonah’s school 🤣 appreciate your comment so much! 💕❤️

      @@TheLiveOutLoudFamily Our rig is really big and not much ground clearance for boondocking. we have a small amount of solar, one 300 wat pannel factory installed. and have been watching satlink, but it hasn't proved reliable enough yet. maybe soon, we'll keep watching. Just our thoughts and we are definitely not experts... 😁💖 OLT

    For reliable RV internet almost anywhere, consider purchasing a Net Gear Nighthawk 1100 cellular router. It includes antenna ports for additional external reception. I'm going with Tmobile unlimited plan for $50 per month that includes 100 GB 5G and after that it throttles down to 4G. With internet, you can watch your camper using the blink cameras and if necessary warn any intruders to leave using the audio feature.

      Hi David! Thanks for watching. We currently have mobilemusthave internet. Uses a parsec antenna and a Pepwave modem. We have the att 300gb data package. We love have the Blink cameras online so we can take through the cameras too!

    You can purchase 256GB Blink USB Flash Drive for Local Video Storage with The Blink Sync Module 2 Mount. With this you won't need to pay for Blink server. All videos are saved to the USB Flash drive.

      I’m sorry what do you mean a requirement? If you’re referring to having an account with blink, we do but opted not to pay a monthly fee to have the cloud storage. You can put a usb stick in your module and pull all your recordings from that.

    seems like they're great if you're parked at home (or at your parents house) but how are they when you're boondocking? can you use a "Hot Spot" on your cell, can you plug the sync module directly into a USB port? guess i'm still looking for a security system that is completely Bluetoothed for r.v.'s that doesn't require internet!

    • @TheLiveOutLoudFamily
      @TheLiveOutLoudFamily  Před 2 lety +1

      Great question. We have had a lot of success with the blink. You do need to be connected to a power source. Could be an rv park or could be a generator or solar. The internet we have has been really good for the most part (MobileMustHave), starlink is another great option. We have our blink cam plugged into a thumb drive too so we don’t have to pay for service with blink.

    I also installed the mini blink cameras inside my rv and a blink outdoor camera as well. While they were simple to install and simple to use on the blink app, I did have one major problem.
    Blink requires greater upload speeds than I usually have. I think the blink rep said a minimum of 2.0 mbps? I’m not a computer person so not sure….still I was able to get the cameras to function at home in my driveway. But so far on the road and at my first state park visit they are completely off line.

Now I’m wondering if I need a weboost or some kind of internet booster. It’s getting rather expensive now….all I wanted was a camera to keep an eye on my dogs. And to make sure no one was bothering the dogs, for example making a lot of noise outside and causing them to bark in the RV. My plain old data coverage from t mobile worked just fine for CZcams TV, Netflix, Hulu, phone reception and the rest. And I tried out t mobile all the way across the country with good results. But the cameras would be a nice addition. Any advice would be helpful.
