The Live Out Loud Family
United States
Registrace 9. 05. 2018
After a year of working remotely and doing virtual school, we got hooked on the flexibility and freedom it gave our family. We decided to take it to the next level. We sold our house, ended our car lease, stopped acquiring debt, and bought our home on wheels, Bilbo, to live in as we explore all 48 states (and a quick break from Bilbo while we travel to Alaska and Hawaii). The plan: 50 states, seeking experiences that push our family of 4 outside our comfort zones, and bring us closer together, to live up to our name, The Live Out Loud Family….
We’re Morgan, Chris, Jonah, and Jude, a British/ American family that has gained the gift of perspective and compassion from our travels. We believe that travel opens your hearts and minds, something we would love for every family to experience together.
Please subscribe for weekly videos every single Sunday. We'd love to hear from you in the comments!

Are you celebrating Independence Day?
The mighty mac!!!!! We are watxhing from amasa, michigan! About 4 hours from the bridge in iron county! ❤❤ glad you saw all its beauty!
That’s amazing! It’s so great to connect with you! We are hoping to make it back up there! It’s so beautiful!
I just bought a 35' camper and really want to do this to the inside. Did you remove wallpaper first?
Congratulations! I hope we see you in ten road! We didn’t have wallpaper to begin will thankfully! If we did, we would though! Feel free to reach out anytime if you have any questions or need help!
Love the video! Would really like a video on tips for travelling around the US as a Brit
Thanks so much! We are actually traveling to every state, currently on 32/50! Is there anything or anyplace specific you would like to see?
@@TheLiveOutLoudFamily Well my plan was to start in Connecticut, hire out a camper and travel up to Niagara falls then all the way through to LA and then back down through Texas to Dallas, Atlanta, DC and then back to a full loop. As a Brit I’ve never been to America and I think a Road trip would be a great first trip to the US. I was just wondering if you had any quick bits of advice or anything as a fellow Brit, I don’t know if I even need a visa 🤣
@@Mr_Greene haha you are going to have the time of your life! We full-time RV! I think you can come over for 3 months at all time as a Brit, so to do that I would start in late Spring and have most the summer and early fall to do it. It’s peak season so a lot of other RVers will be out and about. The roads are huge over here so you’ll love that! You also might be surprised to find snow in states that you would think would be warm. We had snow in Texas and Arizona! I’m so happy for you - please keep us posted and if you have any questions always feel free to reach out!
@@TheLiveOutLoudFamily damn thank you so much for the reply, I really appreciate it. I know I’ll have to do a serious amount of research this summer as I will be going into my final year of university in September.
@@Mr_Greene good luck! State in touch! It’s always nice meeting Brits state-side! We actually just got back from England! I missed it a lot!
Lol, cute family
Thanks so much! Means a lot!
I’m a Chicano dude from Los Angeles and I gotta say this accent is totally unique and awesome and I love it 😎🕺
Isn’t it cool? We read an article about and had to check it out for ourselves! Can’t wait to get out to LA again. What a great place to live!
What primer did you guys use?
Hello! Thanks for watching! We used Zinnser 123
I plan on moving to Texas to my girlfriend, I haven’t got a issue with leaving behind the only issue I have is money, what’s the best way to approach a situation like that?
That’s amazing! Do you plan on getting married? If so you can go with a fiancé visa, and there is no financial threshold (T least there wasn’t when I applied). Please keep us posted!
@@TheLiveOutLoudFamily well I’ve recently learned I can’t move there, her family say I need a work visa but I never went to school and haven’t got GCSEs and I don’t want to go to collage for 1-3 years just to get some, is there a quicker way to get them? I’m really struggling with it, she’s in Texas btw I’m not sure if all states require a different set of rules but it’s what I’ve been told
Where are you watching from?
Maybe toilet paper is stuck to the sensor…. Sometimes a few flushes corrects the problem, you can also dump 2-3 bags of ice and drive the shit out of it…
Thanks so much! I’ve tried ice to no avail. I’m going to keep trying though! Drives us insane! 😂
What up doe! Hope you liked the city! You should have gotten a Coney Dog though...
Loved it! Oh man, I’ve never had one! I need to go back! Any other recommendations?
How'd he do?!
He could sniff my pipe any day of the week 🎉
@@Ballisticseeker2005lol I’ll let him know
Hi there, do you leave the camera when you're on the road? Thanks!
Thanks so much for asking! When we are moving in trace days we take it down and put it back up when we set up again. We have accidentally left it on a few times and it hasn’t fallen off, although I don’t recommend it 😅 we got lucky! Lol
Mental retardation is what happened
It is difficult enough even if you move to Newcastle from London, let alone to another continent. Life changes when you relocate, end of story. Expect it so that you don't have a shock. This is a huge lesson for people who think "Oh but I can always go back every few months" - no you won't... life does not let you.
I appreciate that feedback so much and it’s so true! You think it’s so easy until life hits you and it’s definitely not. We just were able to go back for a few weeks thankfully, but it was the first time in 10 years! It was so hard to leave and I already can’t wait to go back.
Thanks for your videos, but we would like to ask you want agency's can we use to travel from Uganda to America. The good ones. Help us 🙏🤝
Great to connect with you! I went through a program called CCUSA I’m not sure if they are looking for workers now or not. But we’ve been getting a lot of questions on this video so maybe I’ll partner up with one of my immigration, lawyer friends, and do a video to help everybody out!
Were your uk qualifications accepted did you need to retake them? Did you require sponsorship
I got a job through CCUSA and they provided the work visa. Is that what you mean?
@@TheLiveOutLoudFamily ah I see were your uk qualifications accepted or did you need to retake them?
Did you have a sponsor? How did you do this?
When I first came over I worked through CCUSA who provided a work visa. Then I met mow now wife and filed for a finance visa, then we got married and I became a legal resident, and after years of paperwork I became a naturalized citizen. It’s not for the faint of heart 😂 There were months where I couldn’t legally work, and the when I did get my green card I took the first job I could get at a sandwich shop - with a bachelors degree 😅 the things we do for love! I’m not sure of your situation but there are other ways like talent visas that I’ve seen people get.
I have a trauma of heights and my mom in an hour is putting me on that
How did it go? The nice thing is the drop underneath didn’t look too horrible. I’m sorry to hear about your trauma!
@@TheLiveOutLoudFamily there was a kid shaking it the whole time and his mom didn’t really care and she recorded him I was rushing across
@CloudyBesties720 awww are you glad you did it?
@@TheLiveOutLoudFamily I’m glad but yesterday we went to the mountain coaster by dolly wood and tomorrow we are going white water rafting
@@CloudyBesties720 I’m so glad to hear that! What a blast! We love that area! There’s so much to do!
Nice vid if she can...she could get a small solar set up for just the tv alone...i have a 100 watt solar panel, a pmw charger, a 300watt bestek puresine wave inverter, and a 100 ah renogy agm battery just for the tv alone... probably won't be enough for a DVD player but videos on a USB work just fine..if it's a smart tv even easier.
Thanks so much! Since did end up getting a little solar panel, but I’m not sure if the size. That’s a great idea!
I would be scared too 😮
😅 he couldn’t believe his eyes
Should we do RV life in England next?
How does the painted laminate cabinets hold up over time? I’ve heard concerns on durability of paint over the fake wood laminate….
We haven’t touched it up in the almost 3 years since we have been on the road, living in it full-time! We do have a few spots on the bottom cabinets that have been a little scuffed on traveling days, but it’s so minor most people wouldn’t notice- just me and my OCD 😂
@@TheLiveOutLoudFamily thankyou, thats super helpful info!
@@dougyoud5944 my pleasure! Are you renovating an RV? We are thinking of taking on another one!
I live in Southampton mate and ive got dreams of things I want to do but my family is really preventing it from happening. Parents r divorced. Don’t stay with dad n mums sayin for me to move out soon. I’ve got folks in America n if I was to move out there n it enabled me to persue my dream do u think it’s worth it? Obviously lot bigger story but that’s jus a summary. Wld appreciate ur response Cheers
In my opinion you have to listen to your heart! It’s hard leaving family but you don’t want to live life with regrets. I would check out something like CCUSA where you can secure seasonal work and travel a little after and then go home and see what you think. Kind of a test run! Some of those camps if they like you will hire you every year too. Best of luck! Please keep us posted!
@@TheLiveOutLoudFamily thanks for your response mate. I’m 17 still in college just need somewhere to go where I’ll be fully supported tbh. If I could go out and briefly stay in the US would a CCUSA be the way to go or shld I look into something else? Appreciate it
Nice job young folks I have to do this in the upcoming off season in BC ,,CANADA 👍👍
Thank you so much! Please let us know if you have any questions. We hope to get to BC one day!
Where did you get that picture in wall? Love it. Thx.
Thanks so much! I found it at TJ Maxx unfortunately, so not sure there’s one just like it there today, but I was going for a wood frame, which I imagine you could find on amazing. Thanks so much for watching!
Sweet home alabama?
The movie, song, or other reference? 😂
Just had to look up the movie 😂 We haven’t been back to England in 10 years - I agree, if that wasn’t the case people would be asking questions! 😅 they look exactly alike!
@@TheLiveOutLoudFamily haha im glad you got the joke and didn't take it personally.
@@Based360pEnjoyer😅 haha it was funny and I appreciate it!
Doppelgänger 🤪
Copy, paste. Am I right?!
We want to move from UK to Austin Texas
Texas is amazing! The people that we encountered in Texas were amazing every single one of them! So hospitable! We actually are in England right now and enjoying every second and considering moving back eventually as a homebase or at least doing RV life over here! What attracted you to Texas?
Hi, I'm trying to move to the US from the UK, to see my Girlfriend, but I don't mean much money at all and It's extremely difficult to move, could you help me please!
I’ve been there! What state does she live in? I just worked a ton and then on all my breaks from uni I would go stay with Morgan in the regular visitors visa. Have you considered doing seasonal work? I went with CCUSA and worked at a camp and they paid for the visa and travel expenses and it allowed me to stay for a bit after!
I left to move to Australia from the UK 13 years ago. Thanks for shedding light on a lot of the untold truths of moving your life. The guilt, the excitement and the extra layers you need to go through in life.
It’s so hard and rewarding! How do you like life in Australia? We’ve always wanted to visit! Thank you so much for connecting! Seems like not many people can relate!
@TheLiveOutLoudFamily Australia is incredible for families. And very caravan/RV friendly. The people and the sights are gorgeous and plenty to do in the cities. My partner and I are packing up soon and moving to his home in the US later this year so I found your channel looking for "Moving to the US" advice.
@stitchie_play8260 we can’t wait to explore it! That’s so exciting! What state are you moving to?
@TheLiveOutLoudFamily Moving to Ohio to start! I'm originally from Scotland so looking forward to exploring the midwest.
@stitchie_play8260 very cool! Ohio has some great spots. My wife was born and raised in Michigan.
Hey Guys Your videos are awesome I love them . I'm an English guy that has been spending as much time in OC as I can over the last 5 years. We are looking to maybe move in Dan Point can your buddy recommend a good place to live with young kids. Thanks
They were actually in Laguna Niguel and it was an amazing family atmosphere - so sad and kids in and out of the houses in the neighborhood - loved it there! We actually are back in England currently but will be back in a few weeks!
I did the opposite. If I had it to do over, would have stayed in the USA.
Really, that’s so interesting! I’d love to hear why if you don’t mind. We are in England now and the boys seem to like it a lot more! We would appreciate the inside scoop!
@@TheLiveOutLoudFamily Hi, Glad you are enjoying. I don't have children, so maybe that makes a difference. Compared to how I lived in the states, I feel everything cost so much, the health care here in UK hasn't worked well for my husband and I. The bad weather doesn't help either.
What are you summer travel plans?
Disgusting healthcare, mass shootings, tipping culture, no employee protections, lack of consumer protection rights, tax never on prices, religion in politics, two right wing parties and no true left representation… thank god I don’t live in the USA. I don’t care what their media says. I won’t live there. I am more FREE here I Europe because we have a superior work life balance and quality of life.
Where abouts are you from? There are definitely pros and cons!
I know that this is an older video and probably won't get a response, but. I've been living in-between LA and Liverpool throughout the last few years. But in the last two or three years, living in Liverpool has felt like a chore, like something I need to suffer through to keep peace with my family. However, my girlfriend of 12 years (American citizen) is wanting to settle. Start a family, buy a home and potentially have kids. And while I am super down to live in LA and would love to live there, it feels selfish to leave my family behind. I think I would prefer to be in the US and am wondering how I should inform my parents. Have you got any advice as to how to break the news in a way that will preserve my family's relationship with me? (I should note that when my uncle moved to Finland, he and my family had a strenuous relationship for a few years before they got used to it. (He didnt visit often)) I hope I'm not oversharing lol ❤
Definitely not over sharing! I can definitely relate! LA is amazing and can see why you would be so torn. We are actually visiting England right now and it’s the first time we’ve been back in 10 years! Thankfully my family was supportive but it is so hard. It’s expensive to go back and forth (as I’m sure you are finding) and even more difficult with kids, but hopefully if you budgeted and planned right you could take an annual trip - and If your family is able to visit I couldn’t imagine a cooler place than LA! Hopefully if they know your heart and how much it means to you they will understand - especially if you do go back once in a while and they can come visit!
What are you driving?
Looks like you used the water based primer for this. Any problems?
It is! It’s been great! More than 2.5 years later and we are just doing a few touch ups today!
I don’t have much family I want adventure with out all the hassle so I figure America is the place to go as it’s so big
There’s a lot to see here!
We are traveling to all the states- currently on state 32
I have same sink tray same pot set cast iron set I have in entirely especially Dutch oven ,
I love that! Do you have anything we missed?
Oil based?
I believe it is water-based. We used BEHR Marquee.
We’re going to see a surge of young Brits (hopefully including myself someday) moving to the US and Australia due to the current state of the country (low wages, high tax, the inefficiency of the NHS ect.) and it’s kinda sad because we’re in a situation where the best option is to jump ship rather than work to improve the current state of the uk
That is really sad. We will be back visiting in a few weeks for the first time in a decade, so I’m eager to see all the changes!
@@TheLiveOutLoudFamily How was your trip mate? What changes did you notice?
You're in for a big shock Towns and cities outside London are crumbling fast and everything shutting down
Does human recognition work well on RVs? I have doubts about the selection of the recognition area because when rv changes its location the area also changes.
I’m sorry I don’t full understand the question, but I would love to learn more to see if I can answer that for you!
i wanna move from the uk also but just to live obviously id work but i havent been offered a joob and im not engaged so its almost impossible
Have you checked out CCUSA? That’s what I did before getting engaged. They provided visas and paid for travel expenses!
I don't like the fact that they make you denounce your other citizenships.
From what I read is that the UK will still recognize you - not sure how true that is- I didn’t like it either
Watching from Oregon! I always feel like this when we travel for longer trips! 😂
Haha yes! I knew you would get it! How’s the weather over there? So great to hear from you!
I get it. 😅
😅 that’s why we love you! Where are you this weekend?
. We are hanging out in corinth mississippi. Made a lot of new friends here.😊
