HBK's overselling of Hogan's moves is the most glorious "fuck you" I've ever seen. It makes me laugh every single time, especially as Hogan grows more furious as the match goes on.
Every time I see Hogan on screen all I think is "hey it's Grampa Terry here to give us caramel and possibly throw his back out by standing up from a seated position again...." Kind of like how my grandpa was.
I mean, Michaels' behavior is practically identical to Hogan. Egomaniac, backstage politics galore, hissy fits when he doesn't get his way. But that was glorious.
I gotta say it, I liked the way Shawn Michaels handled the situation with Hogan. It technically met the requirements of what he was ordered to do, but at least exposed the match for what it was. Well played, HBK, well played.
I was under the impression that Warrior held Vince hostage for more money during the actual Summerslam Show and that Hogan and Slaughter were offering to set Iron Sheik on them - after all, they had reputations to maintain and at that time Sheik, despite his age and failing health, still qualified as scary. He probably still does.
I'm really glad you mention what a lot of people seem to forget about the whole Cena burying the Nexus. Yes, him winning Summerslam 2010 was stupid but it wasn't really his call. Him going over was the decision of the bookers and it was already set in stone. So all the blame on the Nexus winning goes to the bookers and probably ol' Vinnie Mac himself. However, it WAS Cena's call to decide how the match would end, and the decision he made on how the match would end just happened to make the Nexus look weak.
HBK vs Hogan is actually one of my favourite matches of all time, whenever I need picking up, on goes Summerslam 2005. HBK's selling is absolutely hilarious.
Um for #1 it was revealed that Vince and Warrior had that conversation a couple months before summer slam and Vince agreed to all of them there's even documents to prove that Warrior wrote Vince a letter way before SummerSlam asking for what he wanted and Vince agreed to everything.
Considering how HHH beat Foley for the title the next night on RAW, I think Austin being political was NOT the case, and it was just so Ventura could celebrate with a face. Not that Austin hasn't been political in his career, b/c he absolutely has (refusing to feud with Jarrett in '98, helping make Jericho look weak in '02, etc.)
Why did you guys gloss over why Durst flipped everyone off? Right after they announced his name, there was a resounding BOOOO through the Arena. You could tell it actually bugged him.
I remember the Al Snow figure controversy and I never really understood it because there was a figures released before that one that included Head as an accessory and no one complained. I still have my head, you'll be glad to know, at home in a box! :D
What some people don't know is that Steve Austin did the exact same thing the exact same way to another wrestler not five years before Owen Hart did it to him
J.R was fired for allegedly having a drink when in reality they confused it with the effects of his disease where his speech slurs and his face looks like that of a drunk man,I forget the name but J.R has talked about what happened
Lol, who remembers wwe poking fun at mean gene when he was doing a retro report for summer slam 2013 and this time the poster fall was on purpose, and gene still didn't keep his cool (they censored it tho)
darkdude103 razor ramon, triple h(during the kliq days) kevin nash x pac(kliq days) gogan cena and tye biggest 1 of them all, THE HEART BREAK KID O MA GOD LOOL AT THAT
By then I was extremely tired of Rey's style. He started getting botchy and it was harder to suspend disbelief that his moves were anything even approaching within a lightyear of "realistic."
Ok Warrior wasnt actually holding up Vince, Vince was trying to lowball him giving him about half what he promised him for Wrestlemania. Warrior was rightly a little pissed and threatened to no show, so Vince relented but then suspended him. Warrior is no saint but neither is Vince
Rather than paying Warrior, seemed like Vince had an easy solution: just replace him with Sid Justice. Could've thrown up a quick story said Sgt. Slaughter and co. attacked Warrior and took him out off camera and he's unable to compete. So now instead of being the enforcer, Sid teams with Hogan to replace the injured Warrior. Cheesy, simple, and effective for the early 90s.
you guys keep me up to date on the wwe and i love you for it. i cant watch it as much anymore, the pg era is so boring to me. danny brian is gone, cm punk is gone and they were 2 of the bigger reasons i even watched...i miss the good ol days. the wwe needs to get back to a tv-14 rating but it probably will never happen. i cant get excited for anyone on the roster really. i do like samoa joe and kevin owens. theyre great wrestlers but they dont get the push they deserve. i just want to see great wrestling with captivating stories. i'll eat whatever bullshit they want to feed me as long as it entertains me, but it just doesnt anymore :(
The Fred Durst incident was their fault. How dare you turn the cameras at Fred Durst. It reminded us all that here was there. We were never supposed talk about him again
What happened to the original video? I know it was taken down, but the whole video portion was changed (such as removing the written demands joke) but the audio stayed the same
its wrong about austin not wanting to drop the belt to hhh, according to mick foley they found out austin's neck was shoot, so he was added to take some of the workload off of austin, he wrote about it in his book
So am I hearing this right when it sounds like Vince/creative decided that team WWE would win and Cena only decided the finish? Because this video makes it sound like he wasn't in charge of who won. But just how it ended. Like team WWE was going to win anyway, but Cena could have made the finish different and not made the Nexus look so weak, like him pinning Barrett and maybe (Gabriel too) with a flukey roll up or something. I ask this because the way people have talked about Cena realizing he messed up, made it seem like the booking decision of team WWE winning was partly his idea.
+beilmandulin, I think the part that pissed everyone off was Cena taking a DDT on the concrete floor, then he goes on to pin them both. So that made the group look pretty weak. If they took that part away, then i think most people would of lived with Cena winning
Hey look, Stone Cold's broken neck was mantioned. I'm going to mention Stone Cold breaking Masahiro Chono's neck with a piledriver before that happened. Great vid reupload either way though.
HBK's overselling of Hogan's moves is the most glorious "fuck you" I've ever seen. It makes me laugh every single time, especially as Hogan grows more furious as the match goes on.
+Glenn Dallas Hogan deserved it.
+Glenn Dallas I admire HBK's restraint, I would've said - I'll SCM you, you'll kick out k? And then actually kicked the sleezy rats jaw off.
kick the mustache off Hogan

I swear. Almost thirty years ago my friend's little kid used to call him "The Ultimate Worrier" - how ironic as it turns out.

+Chuck Norris too soon
+Chuck Norris lol. That's dark. 😂
+Chuck Norris well technically that was karma for Austin also for doing the same thing to another wrestler.
