Very nice part! Im always amazed at how little chattering you guys get with those VERY long tools
Its the insert geometry... High feed inserts dont chatter much with long tool overhang becouse of the cutting angle of insert (~10-12°)

It's truly amazing how a CNC machine can design a mold.
CNC machines don’t exactly design anything they do what there operator programs them too
@@coreyconlon9721 I am amazed by the people and processes of designing the machines that are manufactured using CNC. And in turn, manufacture the actual products. I was amazed by Sterrit. They have essentially no manufacturing machines. Their products are essentially handmade.

Dry cut is the best way to machine the part and increase the insert life good job keep going 😊

What was the total runtime on that part?
Used to do air foils for Boeing commercial aircraft ours would run close to 34 hours block to finish part. 6 ops . No vices. Fixture pillars on part removed on saw or Bridgport mill. Location on the same 1/2 dowels (2). CAD was CATIA

Just for curiosity, how (roughly) expensive is it to machine such parts? I guess it’s quite costly but still wonder… like is it more than 5k USD?

How come you harden a part, and then machine it some more?
46 hrc can be processed well
Awesome work. I just don't understand how you're keeping that part square and flat with those cylindrical standoffs on either side of the vice. They're not even precision ground.
Thanks. Those cylinders are precisely ground and hardened. They just look like scrap😁

Whoever designed this thing should really consider changing jobs. He just made the drawing and went "go mill that ...". Fantastic waste of materials and tools. The designer should have thought of other ways for fabrication.
