    The new adeptus titanicus is 8mm. My guess is the warhounds are on the same scale. Therefore, the scale is 8mm for the game. I use my 6mm epic with titanicus, and it looks fine.

    If the separate boxes come in detachments, it's probably around £32-37 per each detachment, so with 7 detachments thats minimum £224, plus the £45 for two warhounds thats 270, then with a 40% discount (which seems common) it would end up around £160, possibly £150 similar to leviathan. With third party discount you could pick it up for £120 so it's not terrible, though the entire contents are really a minimum for one side in large points games if old epic is any indication.

  • @chestersleezer8821
    @chestersleezer8821 Před rokem +2

    Well it states 223 miniatures in the box but the picture only has 209 and what is the price of this boxset. Oh and as usual GW hoses over those of us who already have large collections of 40K Epic from nearly three decades ago. Right off the bat Eldar, Squats and Orks (I have large armies for each of these) are not playable and if this is a normal size boxset (I.E. large box) there should be far more than just 223 miniatures in the box like four times that amount.
    Oh and 223 miniatures broken down into two armies so 100+ miniatures per army is not what I would call an army for Epic and more like a few detachments or a reinforced company. Back when Epci was being played we would put several hundred miniatures per player onto the table with 2-4 companies along with other detachments.
    Yes the price is going to be important since if this is going to be like their other boxsets it could be in the $150 - $200 price range or maybe a bit more and if that is the case I would pass on it since not worth it. I really do not trust GW and haven't for over 25 years since they have killed off Epic, WFB and many more of their games.

      @@JonnyWatsonGaming Oh given GW track record with boxsets this one is more than likely to sell out since they never make enough to have an inventory of them. Get the money up front and then stop supporting it and claim that it is not doing well. Oh and back when it first came out the initial boxsets for the other races had over 300 miniatures in them and that was in boxes that were not that large. As I said on the Discord, I think they'll use a lot of Epic Armageddon for the core rules, due to that being a bit of a hybrid of 2nd and 3rd edition.
    The contents look lovely, just wish they'd chosen a more visually interesting Legion. Death Guard are a bit drap looking. Emperor's Children would have looked ace, and a good contrast to the Solar Auxilia.

A few years ago I would have been prepared to spend a lot on this. These days only if the price is right as I can print proxys very easily. I’m torn between not buying it or buying it to make it success to hope it goes full 40k with Xenos etc. As with all things GW, if this is a success they’ll eventually release more and more stuff, so logically it may one day include the other races. It’s just a question of how long that takes.

    • @BlackCountrySoul1
      @BlackCountrySoul1 Před rokem +1

      They'll likely expand into the 40K timeline a few years down the line which is what they did first time around. Adeptus Titanicus was released in '88 with Space Marine (set in HH) following in '89. An expansion book called Codex Titanicus added in some Xenos to AT and SM. They then released Space Marine 2nd edition in around '91 to take it in to 40K.
      So I can see GW spreading this over several years so they slowly build up the range and are continuously releasing stuff.

    • @cardboardfortress1855
      @cardboardfortress1855 Před rokem

      I do hope so. My only concern is a Adeptus Titanicus has been around a few years with nothing non-Heresy so far. But we shall see. I suppose the specialist games are slow burners. But GW seems to realise they are a way to entice vets back who don’t play 40k anymore.

    • @BlackCountrySoul1
      @BlackCountrySoul1 Před rokem

      @@cardboardfortress1855 the original Adeptus Titanicus was just HH too. They had a lot of the Xenos titans in Space Marine 2nd edition which was then added to by Titan Legions. I think the way GW see it is it's better to spread the releases over time rather than just give people everything to begin with.
      With the current AT (as it's HH) I think they've realised they've reached the limit of what can be released and so now it's exhausted they'll expand into Legions Imperialis. Then once they exhausted all the options in HH Legions Imperialis they'll move it along to Xenos and 40K. But that could be several years down the line.

    Seeing as how they have other race for Aeronautica Imperialis, I would hope that they will offer other races. I personally don't care about HH Epic, but I'm concerned about the people who do because I feel they might be in the same boat as me - a reluctant TOW observer. See, it concerns me that GW appears to be taking on too many projects all at once. 10ed just dropped, HH Epic is out in August, there'll probably be a launch of something in Q4, AoS 4ed drops in Q1 of next year, and then you have stuff like Kill Team and Warcry sprinkled in between all that.
    Consumers don't just have infinitely deep pockets to support every title release. Natural this will lead to projects, likely the mainline ones, cannibalizing the sales of the secondary ones - and potentially even each other. Worse still, GW has had notoriously bad production and logistics issues for years now, so having more projects to juggle might lead to more and longer stock shortages across the board.
