- Hey guys, so I have started my new Bretonnian army ready to play some ‘Warhammer’ and some ‘The Old World’. So pop in and see where I have got to so far.

Giving the knights a retinue and sharing the colors is an excellent idea 👍

Indeed brilliant one and allow me to steal it once I start painting my bretonnia army … (not close to start yet :)). But only the knights of the realm should have one if we follow the lore. But who cares :)

As usually the working force ( to be politically correct) is doing all the work and the top management gets all the credits😂

Love those bright 90s paint jobs, and the knight + retinue idea is a great way to keep things bright without getting bored!
Yeah that’s the main idea for the retinue really, to make this doable for me 😂

Very nice painting. Red, red and yellow, and red and white would mix in well. So would yellow and black. They also follow historical color combinations and rules of heraldry (mostly).

I am looking forward to how it comes together. You have got a new subscriber.
I have also thought about making personalised peasants for each knight but as I am far more intressted in the knights than the peasants it would be only around two per knight, which might look odd. Then again maybe groups of three knights that share colours could also share peasants, as they might all come from the same region.
I would love to see you paint your knights. Personally I am particularly intressted in your beautiful heraldry. Do you plan the whole squad ahead of time or just paint as you go?

So I’m doing 5 peasants to each knight and to be honest the time it take to paint 3 you may as well do 5 when in a batch painting style.

I tend to have a rough idea how I want to the unit to look but i do go where the paint brush takes me as well 😂 if you have discord may jump in to my server were you can share your photos of your progress. Nice work! 👍Can you say something about GW`s horses compared e.g. to Perry or Claymore regading sizing/body mass? They look kinda chunky... Thanx!

GW had for the longest time problem sculpting horses for some reason, they always looked off somehow regardless of faction. It's probably why so many of the AoS factions uses more fantastical mounts instead
