Actually true and I’ve never thought about it like that
In the 80s Edgar(himself a black man) didn't allow Noir to remove his mask and show people that the cool Ninja they liked was a black guy.
Decades later they use A-Train skin color for marketing.
Consistent with what we see today of using color, sexuality(Brave Maeve anyone) and gender as marketing.
Neumann also talks about making Marie the first black woman in the 7, crossing 2 boxes.

Soldier Boy and Homelander were the best but for exact opposite reasons. Homelander was his usual self being scary and terrifying but Soldier Boy was HILARIOUS (he was also hilarious in the boys but still pretty serious!)

I think that’s what the commenter meant
He also says “Step back!” when she is standing still, just like a racist american copper would before gunning someone down.

I’m satisfied with the level of integration in season one. Found a good balance of Gen V having its own identity while also adding to the world building of the Boys. Also set up some important stuff for season 4
Soldier Boy really picked up on the same vibe he left off.
11:17 Butcher definitely has his hands on the virus or at least details of it but I'm not sure if he would be willing to use it because it would end up killing Ryan as well
Not only that but Annie and kimiko will also die, so hughie and frenchie will have direct conflict with butcher while MM will most likely side with the ones who have the moral ground. Which will probably be hughie and the rest.

Homelander is the best and scariest cameo all together into one. AND I LOVE IT!!!
When Anthony star doesn’t overdue the facial expressions and keeps them more micro, god is it unbelievable. I think the directors just like making him look obviously unhinged and have him do it exaggerated but it’s way more menacing when it’s just around his eyes.

Supersonic, Blindspot, and Black Noir be like "ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!"
No justifying, but Supersonic was plotting against Homelander, he didn't want the likes of Blindspot in The 7, and Black Noir held out on him. For Marie, though she had a good reason, from Homelander's pov, she was doing something that could end up sabotaging his public image.

We want soldier Boy
I was really worried this show wouldn't be great and would feel unnessecary. I loved it from start to finish , I honestly really enjoyed the cast of characters, their dynamics, and the way that your view of characters really changes throughout. In a lot of ways I really like its story and more personalized characters more than the boys.
Agreed. I think the boys does a great job with its character dynamics but what I would love to see more of is how the unique pressures of being a supe in this chaotic universe affects the more grounded characters. I also just love a show with a good group dynamic, and Gen V had one.
I like how when homelander appears the music stops
The hate the boys season 3 finale gets is insane to me. Butcher made a promise to becca, thats literally all that matters to him. Solider boy WAS going to kill ryan, and butcher decided to choose saving him over killing homelander. Thats character development. He realized becca would much rather have ryan alive than homelander killed. Everybody is just saying like “hes been trying to kill homelander forever and now he stops??” Yes. Literally yes. Thats a tough decision he had to make to realize revenge is not the right path. sometimes i worry about the messages y’all come away with from these tv shows.

Soldier Boy did not look like he was going to kill Ryan, more like push him away so that he won't interrupt the battle, and Butcher betrays Soldier Boy just for that, that's why people are mad

I wish this show was longer. Maybe somewhere in the ballpark of 12 or maybe even 16 episodes. The show was hitting its stride with the last few episodes and then it just ended. I would have loved to see the world of the Boys more fleshed out from the perspective of "normal" supes just trying to make it through life. If there's one thing Gen V showed, its that this verse is filled with all kinds of potential, assuming they keep the quality high.
God I can’t wait for the boys season 4. I was pretty disappointed by the ending of s3 but I’m still so excited

Man, I love homelander. I was there that day when those Brutal monsters attacked us!. I thought they would kills us. But he saved us. And the guardians of the godolkin were there to stop those violent criminals, I LOVE THE GUARDIANS AND HOMELANDER! SCREW THOSE THUGS!!! My friend later died after one of those guys running around, but in order to stop Marie, things had to be done. I do hope I can meet those heros, Sam and kate. [Vought: International Reviews]

Although I find soldier boys cameo funny, I think it kinda removed the intimidating nature he showed up with in the show. With the whole black noir story and how he kinda just fucked shit up during the season, the cameo just felt like he was a deranged side character who appears for a quick laugh. I just hope his character and ultimately the series doesn’t go marvel and overplay their hand because of the new mainstream appeal
(I still love the funny soldier boy moments, I just don’t want that to become his whole character)

I'm 2 episodes in and so far I'm not liking the characters or story
I’m not watching this show, just not big on “new additions” to previously established copyright because Hollywood is terrible at it but I’ll pop in for this sort of thing. I get that the boys in general isn’t all that accurate to its source material but it’s not hard to improve Garth Anus’s writing. But going so far astray nah, I ain’t trusting that shit these days. Even it’s good now it won’t be long term.
