Thanks! One day I will get more views faster! It’s a slow build and I appreciate your kind words!
Hello there Matt. Excellent routine, easy to follow. These exercises can b done at home and r a great way to get familiar with the weapon. Thank u.
Thank you for your comment! It’s true! I love training at home!
Thanks Matt this helped I used a broom stick and I can do it pretty fast
Me after watching 1 episode of naruto
Wow the first 2 minutes you literally described what i tried to figure out myself in the last 2 years... (actually i got it some day)
But, at least, now i can use the rest 8 minutes of the video to hopefully not waste 8 years for just the idea how to do it xD
That’s an awesome endorsement! Thanks!
Thank you man! I did Kuk sool from the ages 3- 9 and I just found my old staff! Surprisingly I haven’t grown much so I’m trying to remember the movements I did. :D I used a wooden staff that was just a little bit over my head it’s a bit short now but it still gets the job done.
Thank you for your hard work and for posting this...i am grateful because i wouldn't have had the opportunity to learn otherwise...thank you very much
Your a really Good Teacher! Thanks for Sharing just started BoStaff having problems with the wrist movement but I will keep practicing daily Thanks for the motivation..You explain it perfectly!💕 Love your TShirts on My list for must buys!
Hi Matt, finally figured out why my roll over the pinky side was not working. I was releasing the bo from my hand too soon. Thank you for your help and patience, you are the best!!
I'm definitely adding this warm up and workout to my regular exercising regime for sure! I love a good shoulder burn 🔥
There are companies who make things like this thatre weighted on the ends. They also make axes, hatches, daggers, and many other weighted tools you can use to get very strong in areas not many other work on ever. Another really good way to get strong in areas no one would think about, is getting yourself an armwrestling table and hold practices two to three times a week or maybe once or twice depending on your schedule. I guarantee you you'll be freakishly strong in your pronation, supination, and many other various commonly uncorked muscle groups. Its pretty cool, i started adding all of these to my weeks and I will never go back.
Yes yes, now I can copy some of Aang’s moves ✨👄✨
I was already doing this but with my own techniques but the way you showed me are really good. And I can say I've improved a lot thankyou.
You've started me on a journey I've wanted to try for a while, thank you for such simple advice
My pleasure. Thanks so much for training with me!

He taught so well that i learnt it in 20 seconds! Thanks!
That’s great. Thank you Ayushman!
My dad has this walking stick right, I took that walking stick (he still has no idea lol) and I'm now using it for this. It's pretty thick, heavy, and tall but it's easy for me tbh
Edit: just saw you mentioned a walking stick, which is what I'm using for this so, yeah 🙂
Defending with a walking stick sounds cool tbh
Wow amazing video.
Love the staff you used.
Thank you. It’s a fun staff!
2:02 who else is trying this for achieving the infinite Rotation?
This is a really helpful tutorial and I tried it on a spear. It was a bit more difficult but still worked and looked impressive!!! ❤❤❤
Awesome. Glad it helped. Thanks!
Thanks you soooo much!!! I am very happy and I now know how to do it ':)
Amazing teaching!!!!!!!
Thank you!!!
thank you masta🙏🏽
For me it’s really hard, but I have improved. Good tutorial!
Thanks for the feedback! I am glad you are improving. Keep training and you will be better than me at some point!
great master very very much talented
As a guy who loves sun wukong
This gives me joy
Thanks! I too am a big fan of the Monkey King!
@@pasquinilli Glad to know even masters are fanboys of someone😄
Yes. We all are inspired by someone!
Everything about this was good except for the fact that you said a wrist roll for the one-handed procedure. If it's on your wrist and the angle of your thumb actually bounces the rod back in your face? Why don't you tell people to roll it like it was around their metatarsals? This is actually the finger bones where they are fused before they are split and makes your palm above your thumb but just for your fingers. This seems to be the platform for which the bo staff seems to rotate when you do the one-handed technique and where small balls are caught besides the fingers themselves, correct me if I am wrong.
Well I’m sure you are right! The term used by most people is wrist roll and so I title the video and use the term “wrist roll” so that CZcams shows the video when people search that term. I’m certain that metatarsal roll is more correct but not likely to be searched for.
The best teacher ever dude!!
Thank you Mads!
@@pasquinilli Your the on i should thanks!! This guide was really good
Thank you sir
Neat! Thank you so much for sharing this. Usually I use this technique (hand roll) and I can put it behind my back too and throw it up but I have no idea how to do the spins for both sides of the body at the sorta middle of the video so I appreciate this helpful tutorial and hopefully I'll become better with time! :) (and I use an oar because it glides easier for me and it was lying around so I just used it, thanks again)
Edit: I also forgot to mention with the wrist roll it just goes one way and it keeps sliding that one way until the end of my oar and when I use it the opposite way over and over again it doesn't build momentum and I don't want to use the two hand technique because I always fumble with it so yeah.
Awesome! I talk about how to keep it in the middle on the wrist rolls in either direction. I can talk about that again on the next live Bo stream
This is the best tutorial so far
Thank you Xavier!
Amazing 🤩
Very helpful. Thank you
Thanks Ros!
I want to learn this because of Chat noir 😂✨
Also got a question where did you buy the Staff?
Haha. That’s a great reason! Get your bo staff here in this store bit.ly/2ZS1Cku
@@pasquinilli is their like 3 feet? Cause I am about 4’somthing feet yep I’m short
But I am really interested in learning this
@@binjinforever198 if its 3 ft and you're grabbing it in the middle, its roughly 1.5 feet on each end, so your height doesn't really matter
Nice 🙏🙌👌
Thanku sir l learn it within 1day
Thank you sir for giving me some tips to spin a staff
Can spin my staff 50% good now
My best friend will freak when he sees it
What fun what fun!!
If you know you know
Great tracher thank you very much
Thank you Jack!
It's really worked
U r amazing sir.....
Thank you Pragya!
If you back the hand up from the middle slightly your staff will have more momentum kind of like a pendulum and the staff will be doing most of the work with your figure eights. Aside from that a great video. With the wrist roll I find that my hand moves up the staff instead of staying in the middle.
Thanks. The hand constantly needs to be replaced into the middle by sliding during the turn. The Indian styles use more of the pendulum style you describe.
2:17, best part, looks like it spins and sO cOoL to show off, but ngl its really cool
Thanks for that Drip Cole!
@@pasquinilli yeah i actually just searched for it because of ninjago :D
Thank you
Thanks TG!!
How do I stop the pole from sliding out the centre when I’m doing the wrist role
You can’t. You have to reposition your hand to regain the center. It comes more naturally with time. I’ll make you a video that includes the technique and slow it down!
Nice
Me here practicing with a diy staff made with gift wrap tubes taped together😅😅😅😅😂
i’ve learnt how to spin a stick with one hand while waiting for my step-dad to come and unlock the door… EFFICIENT
Haha
I thought it was cool that the Horde in She-Ra used bo staffs and I wanted to learn some of their moves.
Im using my back scratcher for this😎
Perfect use for a backscratcher!
Ah yes, this is what I do when I’m bored in lock down
Me with my broom stick when I saw the one hand spin :👁👄👁 sure......
I subscribed
how height is the staff to you sir Matt? I do kung fu and my school is a good school but honestly I have never taught to warm up (well with at beginning of the whole training but not staff warm up at all). The only spin I learn when I learn the form.
So what I am trying to say is this is awesome and thank you.
Thank you for those great compliments! The staff I am using is 72” or six feet. How long is the staff you use?
Thanks! I'm getting a darth maul lightsaber soon and I want to actually use it
So cool! Did you get it? Try this one too czcams.com/video/Jl_ofOLO7rg/video.html
Thanks! I'm still looking for a good lightsaber though
I only have one arm and I have to learn how to do the staff spins. Any help will be appreciated. The video I just watched was helpful with having it balance on the back of my hand but still hard to get the staff to stay even(my hand grabbing it in the middle) I also would like to see how to use jewel, bongs one-handed thank you
The first one I’ll recommend for my self cause I don’t have heavy staff
Perfect. Use the one you have!
Dude that's for beginners who will never know how it's really done, I taught God how to use the staff he has.
Hahaha. I think you’re thinking of Moses. God doesn’t need a staff.
I am going to keep trying
Excellent! It beats giving up! Keep training!
No one :
Literally no one :
Me : **uses an unused curtain rod**
Perfect use for it!
Me: *wants to learn some moves because I think that I look like a 4 y/o doing this*
This guy: *does literally the same*
Idk how this worked with me without any tutorials i was just turning a broom stick with my hand and i saw myself spinning it
Awesome Anthony. Keep training!
You are putting this tutorial perfectly but I do not know why I am not able to learn any thing😖
Just keep training. You’ll get it!
It’s almost 1 AM and I’m watching this so in the morning I can do it with my broom to scare my brother
Haha. How did it go?
@@pasquinilli I haven’t been able to do it yet so for now I’m putting my hand in the freezer then on his face
lol im learning so i can do some tricks for my maka cosplay
Awesome! Keep training and keep cosplaying!
Allowing the staff to leave your grip in a backhand roll seems very awkward and clumsy at first. Oh, yes, PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE! 🤠
Hahaha. Yes! You got it!
I like this video it’s very weird made :)
I've gotten the basics of the wrist roll down, but everytime i do it my hand lands at the end of my staff or somewhere where i cant do the one handed spin or its gonna fall, any tips?
Real Fire
Make sure it is balanced correctly is what my advice would be. Maybe try doing it faster?
I am just wondering if there is a name for the type of way that I "juggle". It's holding your arms straight infront of you and you keep hitting the stick down with one arm in a way where it spins around your wrist. I think it sort of make an infinitely symbol. Keep in mind no using hands, just arms.
Anyone know what this is called?
If so please reply to this comment.
*It's originally came from kalaripayattu(mother of all martial arts) which originated in India then it moved to china and then all around the world!*
That is true!
When i doing this i always hit myself to my legs or my head :D but i doesnt give up i also trying with a mop and outside ať the park i always training and people are always watching me and trying to copy me
That’s awesome Samuel. Keep training!
If you wanna get started but don't have the cash yet for a good staff just go to a hardware store to the moulding isle and grab a dowel of the right length and girth for you and practice with that. That's what I did. I got a 1.25 inch by 6ft pine dowel to learn with. Cost me $12
Note: do not do any impact training with hardware store dowels they won't hold up.
I wanna point out it dosent matter how bit the staff is, I’m using a 6’2 pool skimmer stick made of thick metal
SICKK OMG IM GONNA USE THIS WHEN A ROBBER COME IN GOKU POWERRRR
I can do the endless spin and to Handed spin and will try the one handed spin.
Awesome! Keep training C.K.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I cant wait to turn into a human fan
I wanna use this as a self defense move, like if someone is trying to attack me with like a wooden stick, it just keeps getting deflected. Ima highly trained ninja I can do a tornado kick, a hood round house, I am close to learning a front flip and my sword skills are good, bo staff skills are not bad but I just don’t know how to spin.
Thanks dude.im 11 years old and I can do this
I’m 12 and same
I’m 14 and can’t 😞
Fifteen and just started trying
I'm on my way to become a ninja!
Awesome!
I keep doing it good but i dont have this illusion it makes like fast it is easy but hard to perfect it
May I know what is this stick called?
When buying the ecrisma stick does it come with two or do I need to buy two
If you are buying the cane masters quantum Kali sticks, they are sold in pairs. Most other sites, like Century, sell them as a single stick. canemasters.com/affiliate-pages/quantum-martial-arts/quantum-escrima-sticks
Ok thanks so much
I used an bamboo stick which is not sanded and i got splinters. Not the best thing ive done in my life
Ouch!! Pick them out. Sand that thing down Keep training!
*How powerful protagonist learn how to block bullets.*
Unfortunately, I have never learned to block bullets
I tried this wrist roll technique but it just didn't seem to sync up until I remembered . . . I was missing that music. . . . 5:10 . . . lol (excellent presentation, by the way!)
