Found myself here after watching Nubya Garcia’s Tiny Desk Concert. This band has an awesome vibe 🙌🏾☺️
haha, same route ^_^
Had the pleasure of being at this gig, what a great sound this band has, emotional, exciting, textured music, that obviously rises from somewhere deep inside the musicians soul. Love it.
Been playing this on repeat for days now. So good! And it stays interesting as I discover new nuances every rerun.

Tracklist??? Anyone???
My name is Maisha😊
Was the Mahavishnu Orchestra there too? ;)
track list?
jesus London, loosen up
I'm here for the movie of 'SOUL'
Nice. Very kamasi washington
yes ...sounds like a P.Sanders album from the 70ties..K.Washington same thing..not particulary fresh or interesting..they need to practice some more before they reach the level of ...let's say G.Garzone...
Or is Kamasi Washington very Maisha?
More organic more vital more original than KW. More like the spirit of Mahavishnu Orchestra but stripped of its 70s pretensions

I like 'organic and vital'. I thing the track 'Africa' is particularly brilliant - such drive and energy, but soul as well. We'll never find 'the' single meaning of life, but with music like this it feels like meaning.
anyone know the name of the percussion instrument the bongo player is shaking at 1:47/throughout the intro?
I believe that is a Shekere. As an amateur drummer and bad percussionist, I have never actually played one.
not sure, it looks like those clusters of shells but done with metallic rattles... surely not a shekere that is a gourd covered with beads.
09:40 :)
Anybody know the name of each tune?
Okay, so I think I have most of them
0:00 Osiris (from There is a Place)
14:15 ???
23:06 The Nighttrance (from Welcome to a New Welcome)
36:43 Azure (from There is a Place)
46:41 Eaglehurst / The Palace (from There is a Place)
Anyone know the second tune?
5:45 why is the audience so dead
So many adds...come on
