- It's yet another new daily word game from the New York Times! This time we've got to find a collection of thematically-related words, plus their "spangram" that describes the theme. I don't know if I'll be solving this every day but I'm giving it a shot for now at least. We'll see how it goes. Let me know how you like it!

A turkey is three strikes in a row
I would have gotten every clue immediately, except I guessed "Spin" instead of "Pins". Dang anagrams.
Oddly enough I got turkey first and immediately figured it out from that, even though I haven't been bowling in probably about 12 years (and I don't think I ever bowled above a 75 lol)
Whoa. I find all them without hints but couldn't understand before find the spangram. And "turkey" didn't make sense till I read the comments here 😅
@anaayoung9142. Exactly the same for me. I was amazed to finish it quickly with no hints, because I've never even been to a bowling place. 😊🇬🇧
A spare is when a player knocks down all the remaining pins with their second ball after failing to do so on their first attempt.
Alley jumped right out at me and then I found the spangram. This one came together quickly. I didn't know the term turkey but knew all the others.
I got the spangram before I got any of the words but that was no help, I know nothing about bowling or what any of the terms mean. Not for international players!
Took me a sec but after seeing the first it came right together
