    Is there something special they've done with the fin box placement to allow twin, 2+1, AND thruster setups to work well??

    Always love the detailed reviews by the Firewire team riders! Would you mind me asking what size Tiller fin Timmy is riding in his Sunday, and what size his Sunday actually is...? I'm guessing it's a 5'6" or maybe the 5'9"...? Cheers!

    • @firewiresurfboards
      @firewiresurfboards  Před 2 lety +1

      Timmy's favorite size Sunday is 5'9, and when he rides it as a single fin, he uses the 8 inch Tiller fin.

    Is this board user friendly for us mortals? Been riding twins and quads exclusively for decades. Looking for a daily driver that can also handle when it gets good and steep in O- side beach break. This board is on my list. Also ooking at Timmy Patterson Stok-Ed, Js Raging Bull, CI Neck beard 2, and a Lost Retro Ripper. All promise same thing. User friendly, stable, and can handle most conditions. Price tags on Boards these days are obscene and don't want to make the wrong call. I already made that mistake last year and now I have a $700 board sitting in the garage. Any input would be great.

      You can never go wrong with any Timmy Patterson! Well Reyes himself knows that, and was a Patterson team rider for years. I honestly don't know why he would switch from a TP to a Firewire in the first place?? Hopefully he sees this and answers?? Ive ridden both and would go with a TP anyday, just my preference!

    What’s the story with that low profile trailer you’re running with the Aipa twins?

    • @firewiresurfboards
      @firewiresurfboards  Před 3 lety +1

      He rides that trailer around home in Huntington Beach because he says the wide base creates extra thrust in weak waves. When he’s surfing in good waves, he rides a more traditional small trailer that you’d be used to seeing in a 2+1 set.

    Hi, trying to decide between the Flat earth and Dominator 2. Any tips please?

    • @Miketv8
      @Miketv8 Před 11 měsíci

      I’ve ridden both. Bought the flat earth bc it’s more maneuverable and controlled. The Dominator 2 is super wide so you can catch tons of waves and it’s really fun but not as precise while turning especially in the pocket or under the lip.
      Hope that helps. Both super fun, can’t really go wrong.

    I keep seeing this referred to as a kind of groveller, so how does it compare to the grovel machine that is the Seaside?

    • @firewiresurfboards
      @firewiresurfboards  Před 2 lety +3

      The Seaside grovels on its own if you just stand on the board, especially with your weight further up on the board where the wide point is. The Flat Earth grovels from its ability to drive off its big twin fins. If you want to rip, try the Flat Earth. If you want to cruise, try the Seaside.
